  1. What about KISS or Ozzy Ozbourne ???????????? I hear they are doing tours. Lets spice it up a bit, come on.
  2. We were on Rhapsody out of Tampa in February and NO MORE CUSTOMS FORMS. You go thru customs and say HI have a nice day basically. Hip Hip Hurrah !!!!!!!!!! I could write a book about all of the experiences we have seen or experienced first hand over the years. They were truly a waste of time. Personally we like carrying our bags off the ship. No waiting around for your number to be called. The ship docks and off you go. If you don`t do carry you go and get your luggage and carry it thru customs. We used to get a porter and get our bags and breeze thru customs. That`s your call. We got off the ship at 7:30 and we did carry off and we were on the interstate at 8:15. If you are flying you are in a taxi and gone. People have been known to lolly gag around the ship till almost noon. Again that will be your call.
  3. Enchantment was our first cruise years ago. Love the ship. Your location is great. Easy access to everything. Just think a night cap at the R bar, and your room is mere steps away.
  4. Personally I would rather have a drink pkg. and a better room. I don`t need a robot pouring a drink or frozen food for $450 more. We like OASIS. And I read somewhere that the fort in San Juan is closed. And Jamie`s is a better choice than Giovanni`s . Cats is a great story line. And if a beach is not important than staying on board with a drink pkg. is probably the way to go. An inside cabin is worth the savings as you basically sleep in the room. Yes so many decisions. But this blog site will help you with any and all questions that you might have.
  5. The on board coffee is really awful. Does the ship you are going on have a Starbucks? If not get the beverage package . We do that and get lattes all day at Cafe Latte-Tudes. And if there are several sea days we get the deluxe beverage package. If there is a Starbucks we get the coffee cards. Have never ever seen a deal on the coffee cards. And the beverage packages don`t include Starbucks. One of many money making perks for R.C. Like others have stated get them now to keep on board expenses down. Would rather see Dunkin Donuts coffee than Starbucks.
  6. Now we will have to choose between SEA FOOD and SEE FOOD. HMMMM!!! Like they say eat fish live longer. Eat oysters love longer.
  7. We switched to M.T.D. and really like it. The flexibility is perfect. It allows you to meet more people and not be stuck at a possibly boring table all cruise. Specialty dinning and eating in port is something done by us a lot so the choices are endless as you are not stuck at the same time eating day in and day out.
  8. P.T.S.D. new meaning is post traumatic ship disorder. Service dogs is one thing but purse dogs give me a break. I might as well bring my pet tarantula with. He provides me with comfort and could create empty chairs by the pool. We find the gym on every cruise we go on is hardly used. That is probably the reason for smaller gyms on the newer ships I would presume. Space saved is money earned.
  9. There is nothing better than walking off the ship and to your car and getting on the road under an hour after the ship has docked. I am referring to doing the carry off of your luggage. It also is a great feature if you are flying doing the luggage carry off. Bada Bink, Bada Boom . And away we go. No more silly numbers games.
  10. By all means get yourself a reliable travel agent. They are great to have And the added benefits are wonderful as well
  11. Going on Anthem in 2019 to Canada and New England. 3rd time on her. Wife likes the smaller class ships while I prefer the bigger class of ships as you have so much more to do on them. Next cruise agents and our travel agent are starting to succeed in convincing the Mrs. that going bigger is sometimes better. Itinerary is what it is all about. The ship size is merely secondary.
  12. Once was enough for us with our kids 10 years ago. Very slippery. Sign states no glasses. Two people wore glasses and both lost them. There is no Lenscrafter`s on the ship so now you have no glasses. We now do Jamaica for the rum and the Blue Mountain Coffee. Our advice to others would be save your money unless you enjoy getting beaten up. And that is an understatement. Why spend thousands of dollars to get beaten up by a water fall. Go for the coffee and rum.
  13. Brilliance hands down. As all the others have said is absolutely why this is our choice of ship. Especially on sea days you have so much more to do.
  14. Congrats on 42 years. May all your health issues be behind you. The two of you are doing something right to be wed 42 years. That is a rare story these days. Enjoy the cruise and each other for years to come.
  15. What normal symptoms may be for one person will not always hold true for others. Like the saying goes you know your own body. Never blow off something as oh I`m OK or I will be fine or its just gas. Five years ago I was having stomach pains; nothing intense. I went to my Gastro. Dr. and he said I was fine. I knew I was not fine so I went to a 2nd Gastro Dr. who ordered an M.R.I. with dye contrast and they found an aneurysm and a dissection of my Iliac artery. Two stents later all is well. So you just never know.
  16. I have not gotten e mails for 2 years and have given up on calling and or submitting e mails. Customer "NO SERVICE" and then some. You can call them 5 times and get 4 different answers. I know as they say been there done that numerous times over the years. Thank goodness for this blog site.
  17. Happy to hear that he is doing well. Enjoy Alaska it is beautiful. If you are sea food lovers Copper River Salmon season is about to start. It as most sea food is heart healthy. Enjoy the cruise. The scenery is breath taking.
  18. It has been 2 years that we were on Anthem. Then they were $5.00 minimum. After seeing how empty the casino was on Rhapsody in February, R.C. might want to adjust the minimums downward. Heck they could not get enough gamblers for any poker tournaments. And most of the tables were empty every night.
  19. That`s the beauty of cruising. Nothing like being rocked to sleep. Its a crap shoot . The time of year and where you are sailing too. You just don`t know. Tropical storms, nor Easter winds in winter, trade winds in the southern Caribbean. Anything is possible. In the Grand Cayman`s we are running at a 50% as to if we tender or not. The best tip we can give is don`t wait to take something for motion sickness. Like pain med`s if you wait to long you can`t catch up. If the seas are rough it really does not matter what size ship you are on. We can tell you tho from past experiences that the M.D.R. and Windjammer will be pretty empty if the seas are rough.
  20. Wish I had known this years ago. And I have been sitting home for 10 weeks due to foot surgery. Glad I know this now as I will be having knee replacement surgery next month. Gentleman start your engines.
  21. Store keeper Canfield`s for everyone Their is literally no rhyme or reason. We are always bringing food on from our stops. Then again when I go thru security the alarms go off because I have 3 replaced joints. Just lucky I guess when bringing food. The diversion must work. By the end of our cruises the security people they all know me and when I approach they all start chuckling.
  22. We always have an extension cord and a 3 way plug in our luggage. I put them in my shoes and stuff socks in my shoes as well. So far so lucky. Carry on is where things get real dicey. We gave up on a night light for the bathroom years ago and have 2 small pen light flashlights for night time use. Going to start bringing a battery operated votive candle for the bathroom at night time.
  23. My wife. And the rest is up to you to figure out. Bon Voyage.
