@tonyfsu21We went on the President's cruise on the Symphony and they set up a smaller version of the midnight buffet in the Windjammer.  It was just beautiful and just like before they let you take all the photos you wanted before it was opened.  We didn't even stay around to eat because there were so many people we knew it would be attacked and torn apart.  I thanked the crew members that were standing there because they worked hard to set up a beautiful display.

This kind of thing just makes me laugh.  Soooo many crocodile tears shed over potentially devastating environmental concerns.  BS !  Atlantis is worried about competition !  Competition is a good thing.  No more monopoly/captive audience for Atlantis.  

On the last day of our Alaska cruise on Saturday morning (August 5) the Captain announced that there was a serious medical emergency onboard which required the passenger to be removed by helicopter. We were in Canadian waters and in some of the worst fog I have ever seen on a cruise. After a while past the announced pick up time he reported it would be delayed for 20 minutes or more because of the fog. Eventually a huge yellow helicopter appeared, it was way too big to land on the helipad, so they lowered apparatus on a cable to complete the task. While you could watch this on your cabin TV a bunch of the people were crowded around the large screens in the Schooner and Colony Club, etc. No word was ever reported (to my knowledge) of the final patient outcome.

We have seen several helicopter evacs on cruises.  And on 1 cruise they actually fueled the helicopter with a plane in mid-air right off our cabin.  They were not close enough to land for the helicopter to carry enough fuel. I always hope that everyone involved are safe and recover. 

While I hate medical emergencies for those involved - and I wish a speedy and thorough recovery for anyone who was injured or ill - I do LOVE a helo-vac off a ship.  So exciting and fun to watch.  I know they are dangerous and never under pleasant circumstances (except when Santa comes - and he arrives mostly by tenders these days).  I have so much respect and admiration for those who are in the medical evac field.  God bless 'em.

This indicates you actually booked a "Neighborhood GTY". In the future, I suggest using a TA (perhaps MEI-Travel that sponsors this site) so they can clarify all this for you and make sure you are booking what you want.

I think you received bad information from the Customer Service rep.  A balcony guarantee can include Central Park, Boardwalk or ocean view balcony.

We did a ocean view balcony guarantee booking once on Oasis because that’s all that was available. Like the poster above said it showed up as XB balcony guarantee. There was a neighborhood balcony guarantee available for booking too, so there was a difference at the time we booked. We ended up being assigned with a cabin on deck 14 under one of the big overhangs, (not the hot tub) and I was initially worried about noise from the pool deck above, but it was never an issue.

I am constantly amazed at how cabins are valued, When I first booked this cruise everything was so expensive, and certain categories I thought were sold out, but everyday certain categories would open and others close! I found out with this cruise and I will apply this to future cruises is you have to be very logical and be disciplined about checking daily for cabin choice selection changes. I wish my career would let me choose a date in the future because I would like to snag some deals near 2025, but I just can't at least for now. I know the farther out you book the greater selection of cabin choices that you have. I

Hello fellow queer! Welcome to the forums 🙂

I see you are new to the board, and I want to say welcome.  One of the things I like about this board is everyone is the same here, we are all Royal Caribbean cruises.  The board does not separate by anything other than Royal Caribbean or (Celebrity and Silver Seas).  If you have questions, feel free to ask and someone will help you.
 
Note:  if you spend a lot of time on the board there will be times someone will irate you.  But anytime you are around this many different kinds of people you will find someone with an attitude that conflicts with yours.  I just ignore them and keep on moving.

This made me kinda giggle.  Can you imagine RU if Royal had created it and was operating it ?!?  😬

Royal Up is operated by a 3rd party "PlusGrade" who doesn't have access to the card on file from the booking.  

We drive to the parking garage in PoM and have never known the garage to be closed.  We always arrive early and have always been able to get in.  Advice:  arrive between 9-9:30.  If you come too early, you will be caught in the onslaught of people coming out and may have a problem finding a convenient parking space.  If you arrive much later than that, you will be caught in the onslaught of people coming INTO the parking lot and may also have a problem finding a convenient parking space.  9-9:30 seems to be the sweet spot....the "lull" if there is such a thing on turnaround day.
