In Juneau we will be going to Mendenhall Glacier with M&M tours, In Icy Strait we booked Wild Bear Safari, we plan to walk around Sitka, Skagway we booked a Ghosts & Goodtime girl tour with RC & in Seward an Exit Glacier hike with Adventure 60. We plan to stay in Anchorage a few days before heading home. Wish we could go further in the state but we just couldn't swing the time. My hubby is going on the Zip Line in ISP, I'm not going with him though! 

Put it in your carry on. Dealing with those folks is much easier than having your luggage go through the ship scanner and getting put in "time out".

Definitely carry on. They probably look like WMD on x-ray, lol.

Yay!!!  Someone else!!  You will LOVE Alaska!  The scenery is so beautiful!  Hope you have some fun excursions planned!  We've got the rent your own Jeep excursion in Juneau, the ZipRider in Icy Strait and looking forward to exploring the area in ISP, a private land tour in Sitka, a kayaking excursion in Skagway, and then taking the ACT bus all day tour to Anchorage.  It's getting closer!!

I'm on this cruise too, it's our first trip to Alaska & I'm super excited. 

Yay to the countdown!! I did the trick they suggested above of changing the sailing date in the app to the current sailing, and I was able to look at the menus! Now the days until vacation can go lightning fast, but the week on the boat can go snail sloooooow! 😜 

Having been on Navigator twice in the last year, we just went to the first bar we found and got our cups there. If you have multiple people, ask if you can get cups in different colors - we had three pink cups for three people and it got confusing, LOL!

We did a private photo shoot this month. We received prints on board as well as a flash drive. OP received an upgraded option(of which there are many).

We are sailing June 12, 2023, on the Quantum OTS, and the spa options just listed yesterday (12/21). 
I snagged a week pass to the Thermal Suite as it is listed for $111.00.  I will continue to monitor the price.

Happens from time to time. My June 15, 2023 Liberty of the Seas sailing cruise planner has everything but the spa showing up. 

Basic voom still appears as on onboard plan that can be purchased on the ship so it's not like it's been completely eliminated... yet.
Prior to late 2019 it was rare to see Surf only in the cruise planner for purchase in advance.
While we ultimately don't know why Royal has reverted to old ways and removed Surf as an option to purchase pre-cruise it is plausible to think it is related to the Starlink migration.   If that is the case then Royal may be planning to overhaul their Voom portfolio and plans offered.  If that is the case no one here has any idea what they have in store for guests yet I wouldn't fear about any existing purchased Surf only plans until they announce their intentions.   
Alaska ship internet has always been very poor due to technical limitations and challenges with legacy satellite technology in the far North.  Many of us are eager to see what Alaska ship internet will be like in Alaska next year now that Starlink has coverage in Alaska for local residents on land.  We don't know yet.  

The Pan Pacific in Vancouver is having a room sale!  From November 8-11, 2022, they are having a sale called the "Double 11 Sale-bration".  It's 20% off rooms and then join the free loyalty program and get an extra 20% off.  My family is heading their next summer for our Alaska cruise and our room rate went from $470 a night to $352 for the Deluxe Harbour Rooms!!  When we've got four rooms for two nights, we just saved a bunch of money!  Do note....the rate is non-refundable.  Hope this helps someone else!

First time RC cruising.  Multiple families going to Alaska July 2023.  My own personal family is my husband and I, and our two children who will be 19 and 16 at the time of the sailing.  I wasn't able to book parents in own cabin/kids in own cabin online.  So I ended up booking one parent/one child in two different cabins.  We were not able to get connecting cabins as we are a tad late in getting close cabins, tho we are all on the same floor and same side of the ship, deck 7 on Radiance of the Seas. 
Am I able to call in and have them switch an adult and child around so the kids get their own cabin and the adults get their own cabin?  Is this frowned upon?  Can we switch people and cabins once on board or is this really frowned upon too?  I understand that our key cards may be a bit mixed up and we'll have to juggle them around when we get off the ship for identification purposes (which is ok, we'll be getting off and on together anyway).

Once on board, Royal doesn’t care who sleeps where (as long as your kids don’t create a disturbance).  Stop at guest services and get extra keys for each room & set it up however you want.

We use WhatsApp for messaging when on the ship - should work across all devices since it's not a "built in" app like iMessage. 

Just one word of caution about buying a single, multiple device plan.  As long as everyone abides by the rules that they can only have 1 device each connected at any one time, all will be well.  Just realize that if one person (of the 4) decides that they want to switch from their phone to their ipad and fails to first, log off, when they try to connect to the ipad (with their phone still connected) they may well knock one of the other 3 off of their device. 
If you anticipate that people will be switching between devices, it might be a better plan to have everyone with their own individual plans (the more expensive option).  If everyone understands that they can only have 1 device at the time connected then it will work just fine.
Since Dan and I are constantly switching back and forth between devices we have found it more harmonious to each have our own plan so that when we switch devices without first logging off, we are only affecting ourselves and not each other.

You might need the stream for FaceTime…I am not really sure about that.  Now here is another issue I ran into.  I have an Android phone and my daughter has an iPhone.  Our texts did not go through to each other on our cruise!  I also had another friend cruising with us who also had an iPhone.  My daughter and she could text back and forth…I was out of the loop!  So hopefully you all have the same phone systems?

I can attest to this is not allowed to be done online. I have 2 cruises booked online with this being my scenario. Your TA got someone on the phone and they did some sort of override.

People also do this to get the one deluxe package what they do is they can print a duplicate key for you that just opens the door so the parent that swaps rooms still has account privileges on it. 

I know this may not be too helpful at this point, but for future bookings, if you cannot get actual connecting cabins for the kids, Royal will allow you to book the kids in their own cabin if it's adjacent or right next door. I have done this before, never went through with it because we ended up upgrading both times, but I was able to hold and deposit with that type of booking.
Note: a TA did help me do this both times so I have no clue if they would allow this type of booking online

Yes when someone purchases multiple devices they can be any devices…same room…different room…donated to a stranger (lol).  And there is no stipulation that everyone in the room must purchase internet!
