There is a fallacy in your question. 13 nights is never too much, regardless of the ship.

we are not billing for our vaccines that would discourage uptake. we get them from the government at no charge and eat the cost of administering them. 

The ad's are funny, thanks for the link. We don't eat a lot of fast food, but when we do, this is what life is all about. Must make sure I where a dark coloured t-shirt to hide all the stains and bring extra wipes, LOL. Perfect food after a few beers, can't wait until it opens.

The environmental concerns are hogwash.  They don't want the volume of tourists.  Some businesses like hotels realize no revenue from day tourists so they lobby hard against the cruise industry.  Using the environment talking point is just a means to an end to garner support for their real agenda.  

If you like beer, the Florida Beer Company is behind the Homewood Suites. They have tours and beer sampling. Nice little brewery.

I may try to camp at the Jetty Pier campground cabins. If I "mix" cruising and camping (two very different worlds) I'll let you all know how that went.  I pack very differently for each...

Got the first shot last week. Was on a waiting list for extras so got lucky and was able to get it before my time. I am not really a vaccine person, I only get the flu shot every few years but I REALLY wanted to see my family and they all have either comorbitities or work in health care. so got it already. We lost a family member recently (non covid related) and it was worse because we couldn't gather afterwards due to everyone's health concerns. 
I started looking up cruises immediately. 

I said I wasn't going to do it....but I did it anyway.  I just made full payment on the July 30th cruise on Oasis out of North Jersey.
- Will it be cancelled?  Odds are still high, but I see people are starting to warm up to the idea of cruising maybe starting in June/July
- Will it be 'modified' from a 9 night to a 7 night?  Maybe.  Won't bother me.  If it sails, we will be on it.  I've actually been waiting for 2 months now trying to add a 5th to the reservation because my son's friend if going to travel with us....if we go
- I'm so looking forward to it....I even booked all the first day at sea spa stuff I always spoil the wife with.  Only thing I couldn't do, was royal gifts aren't working so I could schedule some flowers to the room.
 
The dice have been rolled....will it come up 7s or snake eyes.  ?
 

I plan to vaccinate when eligible.  Mostly so I can travel not only on cruises but elsewhere to countries that will have requirements in place.  Also though the longer we have elevated numbers of new cases the longer big brother CDC will be in my life so I'm going to do my part to get them back into the jack-in-a-box they sprang out of.
The sooner numbers get down and stay down the sooner we get rid of this unwelcome guest living rent free in our lives and by that I mean the CDC.  If getting a vaccine gets the CDC out of my life I'd take several shots if it meant getting them out of my life any faster.

That one caught my eye as 8 nights and itinerary looks great. Doesn't work with my son's summer job though (assuming next summer is usual).
