The Royal burger is imho garbage. It is dry and basic. The Jamie's burger is juicy and delicious. However, I believe they have discontinued the burger at Jamie's.

I have Victoria British Columbia as a port stop on my next cruise and I was wondering if there is any rules about bringing candy or food back on the ship to take back home?

Hi! First time cruiser here! I have seen so many things about people using their phones while on the ship and at the different places they go and having a huge phone bill whenever they come back. I am leaving on a cruise this summer out of the port of Miami, and I was wondering if it will be okay to use my phone on the ship until we leave port? Im not sure how that all works and I don't want a huge phone bill.

Yes definitely turn on the airplane mode. It will also drain the battery roaming all the time. If you want to make and receive calls you can purchase the on board Wi-Fi to use Wi-Fi calling while at sea.

While, yes, you can use your phone while the ship is still in Miami without incurring additional charges (and heck for a little bit as it starts to sail away) but I will warn - sailaway can be distracting. Either by the mini party happening on the pool deck, dinner, karaoke or just walking around, it is entirely possible to forget to put your phone in airplane more with all that going on. Because of that, we usually turn on airplane mode almost as soon as we get on board to avoid this potential.
But, if you are going to wait to turn it on, I'd sent an alarm in your phone for the scheduled sailaway time to remind you to turn on airplane mode. Several in fact. Roaming charges are no joke!

I remember on my last cruise they did a t-shirt sale on the last night onboard. You could buy the t-shirts available (cheap cotton tees) for $17 per shirt or 2 for $30. There's also a Crown & Anchor Society discount on logo-ed products after you spend a minimum amount ($35?). Hope this helps!

There's usually a T-shirt sale and some kind of $10 sale for items like jewelry ("costume"), cover-ups, sun hats, beach bags etc in the promenade/esplanade or shopping centrum.
They're announced in the Cruise Planner and, if your Cruise Director does the morning or evening announcements, they tend to mention them there as well. Otherwise, just wait til you see the mobs in the aforementioned areas and you know that's the day.

You can pretty much take any food anywhere on the ship and do with it as you please. Well, not anywhere on the ship you aren’t supposed to be.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who grabs a few slices at the end of the night on my way back to our cabin. Some of their "pizza of the day" are my favs.
In any case, feel free to grab food from anywhere and take it with you (within reason). I often grab a few cookies on my way out of the WJ or when passing Cafe Promenade just b/c they're there and quite good.

Sure!  You can even take away a full pizza with you (pepperoni is my favorite) to share and/or eat elsewhere.  Two weeks ago on the Ovation we brought a free full pepperoni pizza into the Pub where they sell food and drinks - it was not a problem.

Taxi. Just make sure you get the driver to tell you the price before you leave (rates are fixed by zone) because they're known for scamming on price.

Haven't done that excursion, but normally excursion operators sell their own pictures to make money (the operator is a 3rd party even when the excursion is booked through Royal).  Royal photographers take pictures as you get off the ship, etc.

It's what you pack in the suitcases that counts, so avoid the prohibited items (power strips, irons, etc.).  There are threads on packing tips and cruise tips that go into cross-packing, packing cubes, magnetic hooks, etc.  I now pack fewer clothes, no one judges you if you wear the same outfit two or three times!

Unless you’re on an Alaska cruise…You need the extra suitcase space for all the stuff you buy…Lol

No real restrictions, but I promise you won't need as much as you think!

If you become a regular cruiser (ie, at least once a year), you'll find that by cruise 3-4 you'll be packing about half of what you packed on cruise 1.

People can bring trunks with them? Don't tell my wife. I've finally got her down to 2 suitcases for our 7 night cruises. 😄
