Unfortunately I don't have any information to give you.  But I am hoping you would share your thoughts about cruising with a mobility scooter.  My parents are very excited to start cruising and I would love some suggestions.  My Dad is wheelchair bound, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Ticca -

I started using a scooter a few cruises ago -- I rented from Scootaround and they will deliver to your cabin.   It cost roughly $250 for a weeklong cruise and was worth VERY penny -- I've now purchased my own, but it changed how I cruise and made things so much easier.   The absolute BIGGEST struggle is sometimes getting an elevator, but most people are kind and will assist as needed.

If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them if I can

  2. Good Day everyone.   I will be in a rented scooter and would love to know if anyone has a suggestion for an excursion in Roatan?   I can walk short distances, but will definitely be on the scooter to get off the ship and to get around.   Appreciate any feedback.   The RC App and website doesn't clearly state accessible transfer to excursions.

    Thanks.

  3. We had booked a repositioning ship (by design, as we've always wanted to do that)  -- We just got notification that it's cancelled, as the Allure is going to be in Galveston 'earlier' -- but nothing is on the website -- the cruise we booked is still there.

A -- How long do yall think it will take for Royal to update it.  (We're flexible with dates and would like to stay on the Allure reposition)

B -- Is here anyway to search for just reposition cruises that anyone is aware of?

    Thanks!!

We are currently on our last day on Independence. We have had a wonderful time. The number of guests is 1398, so around 35% occupancy.  The ship never felt empty but it definitely was not crowded.  The staff has been wonderful and the shows have all been very enjoyable.  I'm so glad we came.

Good for you!!!  I will be on the Indy in Nov -- I can't wait

  5. Gotta say, Royal is doing it right -- ship was about 30% capacity -- (I heard everything from 1200 to 1400 passengers).  The crew was incredibly attentive and happy to be sailing.   Chops Grille (my first time there) was delicious.  Check in was simple and staterooms were ready when we got on board.   We had a bit of a scare.   on night 3 (Nassau) We were scheduled to leave the port at 9pm and didn't leave until around midnight due to a passenger that needed medical attention.   I heard that the passenger had a fever and needed to find a hospital bed, but I also heard that the passenger was injured and needed medical attention.   Gotta admit it was a little worrisome, but AGAIN, Royal handled it as best they could.

Now counting down to my next one in 7 weeks!!!

While I could absolutely be convinced to purchase a Royal logo mask as memorabilia from this time - we opted to buy a box of paper masks for this cruise. The logic being that if we are out walking around and have them on often without being able to clean our regular cloth ones, the paper disposable ones will be easier to deal with on a day to day active basis.

That's what I did too -- I bought 50 of them for 20 bucks -- so I could just dispose of them as needed

  7. I'm currently Emerald -- I will hit 78 points on my next cruise (mid-Sept).   I'm taking another in December (Solo, so 4 points a night). I will hit Diamond after the first night of the December cruise (technically). Will it kick in on the December cruise or do I need to wait until whatever is my NEXT cruise to be 'fully Diamond'?    Does anyone know?   Thanks, I appreciate it.
