  1. Everything experienced on Adventure doesn't apply to the rest of the fleet going forward, the CAS post above from Mark Tamis specifically states they will work at private destinations.
  2. I had a different experience and the food was better than the MDR. I hope you brought the situation to the attention of management on board.
  3. It's great that drink coupons will work at the private destinations.
  4. Dining is personal. Cruise ship food will never exceed destination food in any region, at least not on mass market cruise ships. If you are seeking a dining experience that rivals better regional food on land you will need to think about small ship luxury cruising. I've dined in Jamie's a number of times on different ships and prefer it over Giovanni's. I find the menu has more variety that suits a return visit unlike the old Giovanni's where there are only one or two entrees that appeal to my tastes.
  5. Check in for airline flights is never more than 24 hours from departure. A new standard of 7 days to check in for a cruise would be ample and minimize disruption from changing protocols over the next year.
  6. Please know and let your shipmates know the latest news hasn't deterred many of us. Still super excited about trying this new ship when the time works itself out.
  7. TMo worked for me for years at both CocoCay and Nassau. Some Sprint phones didn't have the required LTE radio frequencies so that may have been part of the issue.
  8. ISP for wildlife and a more authentic Alaska experience. Sitka for a larger town (as Alaska goes) experience. ISP sits in an area known for marine wildlife and bears. The port area is operated by a native cooperative and currently only allows one ship at a time. There is plenty to do but most of it involves outdoor activities and wildlife tours but there is a pretty cool zip line. What's lacking are the t-shirt and chinese trinket shops peddling more of the same souvenirs found at other Alaska ports (the native co-op bans those stores). If you were planning on doing only one whale watching excursion during the whole cruise this is one of the best ports for it. Sitka has a significant Russia influence as it was once a significant area for Russia commerce back when the land was owned by Russia. As Alaska goes it's a fairly large city-borough so there are more restaurants and a "downtown". It's a beautiful area rich in history but more of an urban setting (for Alaska). If shopping is a higher priority Sitka offers more than ISP. Here are some trip reports: ISP https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/12630-ovation-goes-north-way-north-to-alaska-11-nights-may-13-2019/&do=findComment&comment=124366 https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/9160-radiance-of-the-seas-alaska-southbound-83118/&do=findComment&comment=83835 https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/5211-alaska-recap-celebrity-millennium-june-2017/&do=findComment&comment=51846 Sitka https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/12630-ovation-goes-north-way-north-to-alaska-11-nights-may-13-2019/&do=findComment&comment=125207 Personally I love ISP but I booked a Quantum cruise that includes Sitka primarily because I've only been there once and Quantum is cheaper for the win.
  9. My money is on the Jaume II. The port lists this ferry as type "CRUISE - DAILY". It's the only passenger vessel that day that wasn't at CocoCay anchorage. The Jaume II was in Freeport before arriving into PEV. If I'm not mistaken the Jaume II starting doing cargo runs. It started doing cargo runs after the hurricane devastated Grand Bahamas. When COVID hit they suspended ferry service but kept doing cargo runs.
  10. When this report was first made public I tried to find the cruise line but couldn't. Where did you find reference to it being a Royal Caribbean ship?
  11. Testing an animated image file to see how it works in this older thread.
  12. Probably worth a phone a call to A2S but I would assume it depends on timing. Prior to final payment you can probably drop a guest without airline associated fees. After final payment and as you get closer there may be airline associated fees which are typically $200 per person IME.
  13. Thanks for posting your cruise experience during your cruise. I'm really happy to see despite a few cases on board the protocols worked and the cruise didn't come to an abrupt end.
  14. The VP Ocean View Panorama (no balcony) are full suites so they will have the same suite benefits that a grand suite and above receive. A "full suite" is any suite above a Junior Suite. The Royal Suite Class concept (Sea/Sky/Star) only applies to Quantum and Oasis class ships. Mariner is part of the Voyager class so it does not have these Royal Suite Classes (Sea/Sky/Star). As such there is no Coastal Kitchen on Mariner and perks like complimentary Voom internet are not included for full suites on any class other than Quantum and Oasis class. Mariner does have a Suite Lounge with a Suite Concierge available as a resource to guests in full suites. For Mariner the last three photos above can be ignored and any reference to a suite restaurant (Coastal Kitchen) can be ignored. When the VP suites were first introduced they were not considered full suites so they were treated like Junior Suites. A few years ago the VP suites were upgraded to full suite benefits so they now provide the same suite perks compared to Grand Suite and above.
  15. Suite concierge can handle a wide variety of tasks from making reservations for activities, excursions, shows and restaurants to a number of things guest services does. While they can't do everything guest services does they can look into account issues such as an errant charge that appears mistakenly. They operate on a fixed schedule and are not available 24 x 7 but when they are on shift they can be reached by phone on this class. Most suite concierge will contact suite guests a few days before the cruise giving you an opportunity to make Coastal Kitchen dinner reservations before boarding. JS guests have to wait until they are on the ship to make Coastal Kitchen dinner reservations.

  18. For Odyssey I don't expect Pinnacle's to have access to the Suite Lounge unless they are staying in a full suite, at least until sometime into 2022. I think we'll all be using the coffee machine in the Diamond Lounge. I've sailed Anthem a number of times and been restricted from the Concierge Club but in every case they overflowed the Diamond Lounge into the Music Hall and it's worked quite well. If you can get past the emotions of being kept out of the Concierge Club whenever it has happened to me the expanded Diamond Lounge offerings has worked out very well.
  19. Either way while you are thinking about it I'd call and ask to be waitlisted for an accessible JS. You just never know when a cabin might become available.
  20. Stepping up from a JS will get you the suite concierge as a resource, all day access to Coastal Kitchen (JS is dinner only), access to the Concierge Club, Voom internet included and access to the Suite Sun Deck. There is an elevator to the suite sun deck within the SeaPlex you'll need to use though, the primary entrance involves stairs. My JS on this class have always had a separate shower. See this thread for J4 pictures: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/17677-anthem-jan-5-2020-11-nights-southern-caribbean-recap/&do=findComment&comment=182280
  21. There are a number of ways to implement the different policy for vax / unvax. More importantly how they handle violators of ship policy early on will contribute to the success of the policy. The webinar I saw posted explained that it will be considered a violation of the guest conduct policy and their intention is to use existing process for this purpose. Guest who violate the guest conduct policy are faced with disembarkment and in more severe cases they have stated they will not hesitate to decline to have those guests sail with them again. In other words lifetime bans for more severe violations of protocols. That may not stop someone who has been using the drink package from getting a little carried away but I think once word of a few unvaxxed violators being removed from ships or banned for life comes out you have to ask the question if unvaxxed will be willing to take that risk.
