My guess is that Royal has not been keeping the app protocols up to date since there haven't been any cruises to check in to.  I have always had very poor luck with getting much of anything to work on the app so I've long ago abandoned its use.  Since it is almost certain that any cruise in May will NOT sail, I wouldn't worry too much about checking in with the app.  I would, however, suggest that maybe you could try checking in online just to get a glimpse of a set sail pass and some luggage tags although it's unlikely that your luggage tags would be ready before day 49.

I'd be SHOCKED if they will have MAY cruises, it seems like FALL 2021 is the time they will resume here in the US.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  It just depends.  They try very hard to have your suite ready but sometimes it just isn't.  
While it is possible to have lunch in your suite on embarkation day, it is probably not the best time to try in-suite dining.  The rule, relating to in-suite dining, is that you can have meals delivered to your suite during that restaurant's normal operating hours.  For embarkation day, normally there are only 1 or 2 restaurants operating (usually Chops and Jamie's/Giovanni's) and the operating hours for those are usually something like 12-2.  So your window is fairly small and let's face it, turnaround day is soooo busy for everyone.  We normally do not ask for meals during the day on embarkation day.   We usually just go to Chops or Jamie's or whatever is open and do some in-suite dining another time.  Having said that, I know that some do it...so it can be done.  We have also gone to Sabor (Allure) but it seems like the hours are a little later for that one....hard to remember.
Whatever you decide to do, just let the Genie know ahead of time and he/she will make it happen !  They will know what is open and what the operating hours are.

It is an old thread, but was thrilled to see it come up again!  I'm thinking about Star Class for a late 2022 cruise, and this is very helpful.
One question that keeps running in mind mind after reading the thread.  On embarkation day, are the SC room available earlier than the regular rooms?  I saw someone talk about having lunch in the room.

Technically speaking as well....when you take a loft suite on deck 8.....you sleep on deck 9 ?
My kids who were sleeping on the lower level didn't complain about noise...but I never did ask them either.....I'm a bad parent ?

From what @WAAAYTOOO reviewed, the corner GLS are smaller than the middle ones.  Also, you have less storage for clothes upstairs with only one closet instead of two.  You do have three balconies and if you have multiple people or kids it may be an advantage to get some “alone” space; or if you are on a cruise with a lot of scenery to see, like Alaska, it may be worth the trade off.  We are going on a 12-day transatlantic cruise, with only three stops. Also, you still get a 180 degree view with the rear balcony, that will be enough for us.
I recommend you take a look at some of the videos.  While the actual size of the corner suite is only 144 sq ft less than the middle GLS,  the living room on the corner suites is more cramped as that room is used for the entry and access to the side balcony.

Curiously, Asian superstition is the number 4 as it is associated with death. 

All of the Quantum-class ships have a deck 13 (maybe because Asian cultures doesn't hold such a superstition, and most of the Quantum-class were designed originally for the Asian market?).

I kept the link to my original genie questionnaire and it looks like a few of the questions changed since our star class cruise Christmas 2019.  Revised questionnaire attached. Off the top, it looks like Elon Musk is new and the deserted island and device preference have been removed.  Interested to see what it may look like going forward. 

we had 8724 but 10324 came available again so we nabbed it.  Like others, I am thankful to @WAAAYTOOO because I very well would have booked a cornerif I didnt see the blog she wrote.  That is why I love this blog site.  I thought I knew all there is to know about cruising before joining, but boy was I wrong LOL.

Sorry, I'll have to keep digging. No pictures from that sailing with coverage of the balcony.

There's one shot of the living room where you can see the balcony out the doors, but there isn't a full balcony shot from outside.  Maybe he can dig some up from the shots that didn't make the website.  I'm pretty sure someone was always in the way when he tried to.  My father enjoyed falling asleep out there with a bottle of wine.  PS: It isn't a covered balcony, so wear sunscreen if you plan to do that even on a NE/Canada itinerary! ?

I saw the post where he took all the pics... there just weren't any of the balcony. -_-
