  1. It should be ok to be a few minutes late for dinner. I have run into this at times and rush to dinner, but really didn't need to. Enjoy
  2. I always do hard copies. When checking in I find it faster to just have the 4 things I need in hand. Do not like trying to find everything on my phone.
  3. I would go for the Central Park balcony. I like to get fresh air and sit outside for coffee in the mornings. But am sure they are all fine cabins and will work great. Enjoy
  4. Was on Oasis in March and Odyssey in April. No issues with the food or staffing. We ate at mostly specialty restaurants (had UDP) and food was fantastic, service great, and could always get in. Never very busy. The Solarium Bistro was closed though for entire cruise on both ships. When we did have lunch or breakfast at MDR it was never a wait. We were in Jr suite both times and sometimes ate at CK. Also not crowded and could get in almost always when we wanted. I know there are issues with supplies and crew. But they are doing very well in my opinion. My next cruise is not til Sept. now. But looking forward to it so much. Happy cruising everyone
  5. Flights are all over the board. I booked London flight, for cruise I took last month, for 35,000 airline miles. Unheard of. Domestic flights are more than that using miles. II have been looking for flights for Dec. cruise out of Miami. It always seemed to be about $1,000 per person. 9 days ago it was $1,150 per person and I could not use a companion ticket.. The next day, a week ago Sunday, I looked again. The flight was $547 and I could use a companion. Go figure. Just saved over $1,500. Was so excited. You need to put in the time to get good airfares but they usually come along. Just check often.
  6. There is omelet section at the Windjammer, made to order. Other breakfast places do serve omelets with some choice of ingredients.
  7. The ships tend to go around any bad weather as much as they can. I do not cruise in July and August because it is too hot. We can travel anytime. In Sept/Oct we usually cruise in Europe. But the hurricane season would not deter me from traveling those months. Enjoy!!!
  8. I love the Oasis. I was on her twice this year and I did not feel they were understaffed. And nothing seemed over crowded. Was very nice. Although the solarium bistro was closed. Maybe closed for staffing? Great food and service.
  9. I live in Montana and anywhere I take cruises in the US are 3 or 4 flights. To go to Florida to cruise it takes 12-14 hours including the airport and plane time. I do fly also to Europe for cruises at least once a year, usually twice. Those are longer yet, but worth it. You just kinda get used to it.
  10. The amenities list says "per household". Does that mean that you and your spouse do not each get the amenities? Might explain why the last 2 cruises we were short one amenity?
  11. I originally laminated my vaccine card. Then I got a booster and they couldn't write in on the card and had to make out a new one. Now I carry it in plastic sleeve.
  12. On Oasis in Feb and March Portside BBQ was open for lunch. I assume hours may vary, depending on staff maybe?
  13. I am also on Symphony last week in February
  14. I have also taken USB hubs on ships, no issues
  15. yes, they tender and do not dock. Friends were just there last week and confirmed
  16. My husband does not drink alcohol, because it does not agree with him. Basically allergy to alcohol, and gets immediately sick. We have had no problem with bartenders when ordering virgin drinks. All the bartenders have been great in the many, many years we have cruised.
  17. I was just on the Odyssey. Gals came around certain places and handed out $50 off any spa treatment cards. A manicure was $49. So it only cost me the tip. Also did a pedicure using another coupon. They gave you 2 at a time. I loved it and hope to see it again sometime! I think the spa was not busy and they were promoting business. They also threw in a free mini facial after the manicure. I seem to see better offers for spa treatments on the ship.
  18. I grew up going to Knotts Berry Farm, when there was no entrance fee. Love the Chicken dinners.
  19. Hooked is unlimited. The only restaurant I know that limits you to 1 entree is Chop's. Although Chop's will get you as many appetizers, sides, and desserts as you want. Enjoy!
  20. Solarium Bistro was not open earlier this month on Odyssey. And was not open on Oasis in March. Not sure why, maybe staffing shortage?
  21. Many things to do. Santa Monica beach and pier. Take in a game at Dodger Stadium, beaches, amusement parks, movie studio tours, Getty Museum, tour Queen Mary ship, San Diego Zoo, walk around Hollywood Blvd and old Hollywood, Walk of frame, Griffith Park observatory and grounds, safari park, china town, lunch at Beverly Hills hotel out by the pool, wine tour, ferry trip to Catalina Island, Aquarium, go north to Santa Barbara for the day, city walk at Universal studios....... Can you tell I grew up in Los Angeles area? And have visited often? I have a favorite hotel in Santa Monica. The Georgian. it is across street from ocean and Palisades Park and pier, and lots of places to walk. Breakfast on the hotels porch is very nice and relaxing.
  22. Not to be the negative one here, But I have taken many Alaskan cruises. And rarely is it warm enough to sit out on balcony. Air from glaciers make it cold especially if there is any wind. I have had some nice warm Alaska cruises, but not really pool or balcony weather. They hand out blankets when you are outside often. But it is a scenic cruise. I lived in Seattle for 25 years, and they scenery was very like the San Juan Islands and places up in Vancouver which I often traveled. Enjoy your cruise! It will be wonderful no matter what!
