  1. This is pretty fun…counting down on the roll call!  But wondering where are all the cruisers for this one?  I heard there is quite a group on the Facebook roll call but since I am not a social media ‘mogul’…this is all I can do!

    80 DAYS TO GO….

I’ve got the “Cruise group” coming over this Friday night to talk cruise details.  To keep the kids busy…they will be tasked with making personalized magnets for their doors!

    Day Two - Miami

We started the day with the Hampton's usual included breakfast. The last time we stayed here (pre-Covid), they had a wonderful fruit salad at breakfast but, sadly, that was missing this time around. That did not stop us from enjoying fuelling up, though. The coffee was very good. They had a dark roast and a light roast as well as decaf, so we took full advantage of it, knowing that we would be unlikely to get any decent coffee on board the ship. There are all the usual continental items, with cold meats and cheeses, cereal, fresh fruit and various types of bread. Plus hot items that change daily; DH said his omelette was very good. I looked for them the next day and it was scrambled eggs instead, so I missed out. And there is a make-your-own waffle station too.

Just in case it matters to anyone, the plates and cutlery are the disposable type.

There are several restaurants in immediate walking distance even if you are not very mobile. Turn right out of the main door and there is a Vietnamese place right next door, although it looked like a kind of fast-food place, then there is Sergio's Cuban, the Batch Gastro Pub that @AshleyDillo likes and, on the corner, a place called Alma Rosa which, from the menu, might have been Mexican or Peruvian.

We stayed at same hotel last November…the room was very nice (we had a King suite)…breakfast-just ok.  I drink my coffee with light cream (my one habit I will never break!) so could not drink theirs as they have those little creamers 😞.  We also LOVED Batch Gastro Pub!  The food was sooo good!
I am currently in San Antonio staying at the Hampton Inn and coffee is awful!  Luckily my granddaughter and I found a cute little shop around the corner with Starbucks like coffee so every morning this week we walked there before breakfast to grab our coffees (well, I got a Caramel Macchiato and she got a Caramel Blended frozen drink).

Now at Maya Chan, their BBC stands for Banana, Bailey’s and Chocolate.

When we were on Freedom of the Seas our son got very friendly with one of the bartenders at the pool bar.  Every time this bartender saw my son he would call him over to try his special drinks!  One was a BBC which quickly became a favorite for all of us!  It was Banana, Baileys, Colada and was delicious!  Of course the hidden innuendo made this drink 🍹 fun to ask for!

I’ve bid on a number of upgrades recently. Went high (almost max bid) on the one I wanted the most, medium on a few that appealed to me slightly less and then low on one I was least bothered about.

Curious minds (mine 😉) want to know…were any bids successful?  Or is it still too soon to find out?

Calling all vintages.  Is this the new way of identifying your luggage?

😂 are those bows or shower thingees?  I use ribbons but those look a bit wild!  Yes I am vintage…really getting used to that description now!  I love “pet” names.  Several years ago one of my granddaughters started calling me “Juicy”..no clue why but regardless the name stuck and now all 5 grandkids lovingly call me by that name!

  6. I was there in November and saw no jellyfish at Columbus Cove…it’s a pretty decent walk to get there but IMO worth the effort.  There were venders set up behind the beach chair area but if you don’t look at them they leave you alone…that was my experience.  This beach area is very quiet and there is a food area close by as well as a bar.  The water was perfect!

BTW this was my second trip to Labadee and I will be there again this May.  My first time we grabbed chairs at Adrenalin Beach.  I wasn’t impressed as there was lots of seaweed in the water!  Actually there was a little area behind where we sat that was most likely for kids…but I had fun there!  Also there was a bit of a walk to the bathrooms and food area.  I know you have a cabana so hopefully your visit will be different from mine!

MEI is used by a very large number of regular contributors to this site and the overall experience has been very good….self included. No complaints at all. With that said, agents aren’t going to really save you money, other than maybe a $50 to $100 OBC here or there. They exist to save you hassle and stress. Generally the discount agents will give you discount service, which isn’t a good thing when you need them to come through for you.

The prices I have been quoted from Josh have always been lower and refundable!!!  He also includes OBC.  No, I do not book suites (I’m considered…at least by this blog community…as a “Poor”) but I always book OV Balcs.  Also…The refundable price is typically lower than the non refundable price!

The CK menu is the main reason why suites aren't a draw for me. I am such a basic woman when it comes to food, even the Chop's server said so on Wonder (I like my medium steak plain, no sauce). But it is great when I hear stories like this, I just don't want to always be a bother. It is super funny because I only eat steak and drink when I cruise.

LOL and gamble and report lots of interesting 🤔 stories (AKA shenanigans)!  😆 😂
