  1. Not sure how any of these lines will survive if we go 10 months without sailing. I know they have loans and what not but they have got to be scared. I heard books for 2021 are up past their normal numbers but still can't help but think some major things may happen for them to survive.

Wonder whatever happened to politicians supporting the cruiseliners...now would be a good time for someone to start telling the CDC to back off

Cant believe I can book a Disney trip eat outside go to a movie theater get my hair done and fly on a plane but cruising is still the end all be all enemy.

  2. Just trying to get my ducks in a row in case this happens

Our may cruise was canceled we took the future cruise credit and booked for October.

What happens if were canceled again do we get the option of a refund or are we forced to take another FCC?

We took the cruise planner credit as well. I'm assuming there's not a shot in hell we'd get a refund for that but we won't be cruising in 2021 due to hopping to be starting our family

How the potential restarting for the cruise lines is unfolding is interesting stuff. The complexities of doing it are immense. I got to thinking restarting is not like pulling the ships now at sea back to their home ports and going for it. What US, EU +GB, Asian home ports will reopen? When? What destination ports will reopen? What will a country's public health officials require of passengers and crew embarking and debarking these ports? Quarantine? Can't go there. We have an 8n S. Carib. cruise booked on Celebrity Equinox out of Fort Lauderdale on August 1st. We live in Fort Lauderdale so I don't have airline tickets to deal with. So, I've been watching the Caribbean re-openings; Caymans was on the itinerary - not reopening 'till October. No biggy. The cruise line can by-pass that one and add a day at sea. The rest of the ports are probably already open (e.g., Aruba) or better than 50/50 to be open.  But, where is Equinox right now? Will it continue to home port out of FTL with all the reorganizing going on? What ship might we be rebooked on if it goes somewhere else? I'm well prepared for any eventuality for this cruise. If it gets cancelled we'll take the 125% FCC; I've already applied one FCC and received another and will simply add a 3rd.  I can apply all of those for a Holiday Cruise in December. That one is easy. In October, the 22nd actually, we have a Barcelona to FTL translant booked on Apex. We're flying to Lisbon 2w early, will be there for 2n then head to Switzerland for a week and end up in Barcelona on the 21st, RON and board Apex the next day. But, but, but .... normally Celebrity would reposition Apex on a East Bound Translant to Europe. It's already there in France and supposedly resumes cruises from Barcelona on August 5th home porting there doing the Eastern Med through the repositioning cruise I'm booked on back to FTL. With all the reorganizing will Apex switch to another home port and be replaced or not by another Celebrity ship?  Right now, American's cannot travel to Europe. Will they be able to in October with no vaccine yet and the flu season starting? Without a quarantine? If we can fly into Lisbon without quarantine, will Switzerland open it's Airports to those with US Passports even though they are already in the Schengen region? All of this is mind-boggling. Good thing I'm flexible!!!?

    That's definatly a headache.

I have an end of October cruise out of fort Lauderdale as well. I'm hoping October will be a whole new story. I'm stressed as we won't be cruising at all next year ( or atleast hoping to be pregnant and won't pass 20 weeks) so stressful. I hope we'd get a redund

  4. I'm beginning to worry about my October 24 cruise.

There's no comparable lift and shift for us but I used a FCC as well from our cancelled may 13 sailing. I'd be curious if we could lift and shift to may ...

But also what happens if royal cancels but you used a FCC (from a royal canceled cruise) and got the cruise planner credit? If October is canceled for us I'd just want a refund as we're planning on starting a family next year

When you applied for your 125% OBC did you get any confirmation that you chose this?

I'm thinking about it, but even with 6 sailings booked, I am not sure I will be able to go on any of them for sure and don't know what will happen to that OBC if we end up canceling.

No email confirmation just  a thank you for submitting your form for the credit window

I like that idea! I'd like to know the hotels closest to Port Everglades. That seems to be my choice of ports when we cruise. I always fly in the day of, but this year, I plan on arriving a day early and would like to plan on that from now on.

We did Margaritaville last stay in fort Lauderdale (hotel is technically Hollywood Florida) everything you need right in site. Adult pool, kids pool, beach, loungers, bar, reasturants, boardwalk with live entertainment at night

  7. @Jencendiary I wish you luck on your journey. In order to stop people from going to other countries you ah e to shut down business and airlines...hmm even more out of work. Airlines brought this virus world wide not cruising.

Seeing as the world didn't shut down airlines yet I think your journey is at a stand still.

Let's not even touch on the fact that it takes at minimum 4 years to properly develop a vaccine. Who wants to be a guinea pig for a virus that's been thrown together in months barely tested correctly and no known long term effects...I'll let you be first in line for that one . i'll be cruising

I wonder if they put in this limit to help spread out the limited number of passes to each (especially the Beach Club).  I am going to Coco Cay for the first time this fall and booked the Beach Club ($59 adult/$47 child) and was looking at the Thrill Waterpark ($47/pp) and thinking of booking it as well to give me time to decide.....I guess I will stick with the Beach Club then!

I ended up having to cancel my thrill water park tickets and rebuy both thrill and coco Beach together to by pass their calander restraints ?

58 is the lowest Iv eve seen. In my canceled cruise they were liek 199 ?. I'm not even sure we want to go but we had the extra OBC I figured we can cancel later but right now it's a steal.

We've done thrill water park last trip (2 30 year olds) and finished in a few hours then went to Oasis pool for the rest of the day. That's why I feel like we have time for both. But last trip only one ship was at port and this time we have two so a private pool with a guaranteed chair is nice to have

Sure if you get to be one of the people in those lines?  But they didn't exactly say they were reducing on-board room capacity.  So will I be forced to sit around in my room while you get to have fun?  AND, if indeed they do reduce room capacity, who gets cut from already booked cruises?  Lastly, of course in this case the price will be going up.  In fact, in almost all post covid scenarios, prices will be going up.

If is mentioned that capacity will be reduced it was just hidden in there

In the county I live in we have a population of 292,406 people. Our Health Department has posted that there have been less than 5 people hospitalized for COVID-19 during last three weeks. Yet we are still stuck under what amounts to house arrest by our Dictator Governor.

None of this makes any sense anymore.

Sounds like we are in similar situations! The hospital I work for actually closed out covid floor about three weeks ago and have not had any patients admitted with covid for over a week. So we're a bit behind you but still we won't have our businesses open here till probably mid july

I came on today to find out how to apply the 125% to a specific cruise and you lovely posters answered my questions without me asking.  We have a ton from 2 canceled cruises and want to apply it to the cruises we will spend more.  I also don't want to apply it to August cruises in case they are canceled and the September cruise is just hubby and our youngest.

Happy to help. We applied to an October cruise. Pretty happy with the extra 25% and all the cruise planner sales!

I know it's not the same, however I had H1N1 when it went around, was in my mid 20s. Certainly wasnt pleasant and didnt eat for about 10 days and lived in the bathroom...but made it though. Now it's part of our flu vaccine I believe.

That being said, my biggest fear in all of this has and still is with all the people we are trying to save from covid, we are killing them from many other things. Cancers not being diagnosed, or treated. Disease not being caught because people are scared of the ER etc. Not to mention people who suffered financially before ( and even people who weren't) are now going to be so much worse.  Malnutrition etc. Not to mention the rise in anxiety, depression and suicide.

    Just my opinion...

The amount of people who are ignoring their own health because the media has them terrified they will catch covid are astonishing. Worked on a woman last week who had a stroke but was to scared to come into the ER when her symptoms first presented. She said the news said she would be a burden on us if she came in. It's heart breaking.

The truth of the matter is the hospitals in my state were not overun or at the brink of collapse at any point of covid 19. The media scared people to death when they shouldn't have been scared. And now my governor is changing his tune saying quarantine wasn't just for hospitals ?

Fauci goes back and forth with what he thinks covid will do in the fall and even with quarantining or not quarantining

No one knows what will happen and some people we have in power are just trying to save face at this point. It's disgusting.

I feel for all those who are ignoring their own health and who may very well die from soemthing that couldn't have been treated all bc of being worried about covid 19
