  1. That's terrible throttling it like that. My guess would be that once it's up and running on all of the ships that a new tier will be introduced with faster speeds, and of course a higher price to go along with it.
  2. And then they would have to do something to make up for the loss of the beverage packages. And that would be to jack up the prices of everything else, including cruise fare, excursions, souvenirs, spa services, exercise classes, minimum bets in the casino, specialty dining. Did I miss anything???????? oh yea, individual drinks, including coffee, soda, non-alcoholic and especially alcoholic drinks
  3. If anything, it's more catered to families. Just one example of that is there are no studio cabins for solo cruisers on this ship.
  4. Happy 50th, and no I'm sorry, that towel would be on the floor.
  5. Perhaps try out an all inclusive resort for a day. We did the Hilton Rose Hall in 2016. Falmouth All Inclusive Resort Day Pass & Shore Excursions (resortforaday.com)
  6. I was in Cozumel this past January and opted for an all inclusive day pass at the El Cozumeleno Resort. You'll have to take a cab to get there. Very nice resort. The food was so-so, but the drinks..................... let's just say I'm going back again the next time I visit Cozumel. Try the drink they call the Toucan, it's as potent as it is beautiful. 7. If memory serves me correctly, the Canada / New England itineraries for 2023 came out this past February. I'm waiting on them for 2024 too.
  8. Depending on the port, if I've been there within the past few years and have seen what I've wanted to see (like Nassau & Cozumel to name a few) I try to get a day pass at one of the all inclusive resorts. But if it's somewhere I have not visited before, I'll try to see and learn as much as I can about it when I'm there without burning out.
  9. Besides the bed arrangement there once was also the option of whether any of the guests in a cabin were having some kind of celebration during the cruise (birthday or anniversary). You were able to choose what it was and on which day.
  10. Interesting option. From what I have been reading Royal is still printing the Cruise Compasses up, just not as many as they used to. You can request them from your room steward and they'll be delivered to your cabin each evening like before. It was like that on my last cruise this past May.
  11. I haven't seen that option in awhile online. It would be best to call Royal, or your travel agent up and give them your preferences. Once on board you could also tell your room steward your bed preferences if they're not to your liking.
  12. I've used them as well as other third party tour companys with no problem. One thing you can look for are tours that return you to the pier with lots of time to spare, say at least 2 hours before all aboard.
  13. Yes. Most ships have been for awhile.
  14. I've seen posts on this and other forum's that have said guarantee rooms can be assigned as early as month's before, and as late as your sailing day. Keep checking every day to see if your cabin is assigned. If and when it shows up and you don't like it you can call Royal (or your travel agent) up and see if it could be changed. I've done guarantee rooms twice before. The first time it was assigned to me was around 3 months before the cruise and I was able to change it to another available room in the same assigned category at no cost. The second time it was just a few weeks before, but I was happy with the room they gave me.
  15. Capt. Carl was great. https://bahamaboattours.com/
  16. You may find something in Windjammer depending on the food theme of the evening.
  17. You let them know when you check in at the port. You'll get the taxes and port charges for the no show back.
  18. I've been a AAA member since I started driving way before the turn of the century. Considering that I'm paying for it, I use their travel agents. I had some billing issues for my last cruise and they were able to go to bat for me and get it straightened out before I set sail. Their office is located nearby so it's rather easy for me to just make an appointment to go down and take care of whatever needs to be done concerning travel. If it's just a price change, I could take care of that with an email and / or call to them.
  19. Almost anyplace on board that has a TV can be showing whatever football games the channels they get carry. The Cruise Compass usually lists what games they run on the outdoor screens. You also can watch them in your cabin as well.
  20. Perry Grant. He's a very talented and funny piano player and singer with quite the following. I've seen him perform on Navigator of the Seas, and most recently on Explorer of the Seas. He is currently on Anthem of the Seas where he mainly performs in the Schooner Bar but also can do shows in the other theaters as well.
  21. There are usually a few accessible excursions available thru Royals cruise planner. But very few, and they tend to fill up fast. It may be better to try one of the third party excursion sites and see what they have to offer.
  22. Read the cruise contract.
  23. I noticed that sometimes people on this and other cruising forums like to use 3 or 4 initials when writing about which ship they're sailing on. Unfortunately several of Royal Caribbean's ships start with the same letter. Which AOTS, EOTS, OOTS, ROTS or SOTS are you cruising on?
  24. They should be, and they should also be heated. Hence the name hot tub.
  25. You "should" be able to make it. Get off the ship as early as you can, and don't dilly dally.
