That's not my understanding....but... I would love for you to be right.
I agree...it's crazy to require 14 day quarantine, and certainly doesn't match provincial rules.

I'm now 1 for 1 in RoyaUp bids.

I was able to upgrade from a GS to a 2 bedroom GS for $580. When I originally booked this cruise, the 2 bedroom was about 3k more than the regular GS

Lesson here:  always check the charges on your account BEFORE you disembark.  Much easier to fix while still on board.

Thanks for the update! I’m going to do it when we we get to the port…..no ship rolling..😆

OK…here’s the skinny on using Switch Health antigen telehealth testing to come back to Canada.
+ Overall it worked out OK
+ You will need the streaming Internet service, no question. It won’t work otherwise. The service in your stateroom will need to be solid.
+ Doing the schnozzle swab with the ship rolling left and right was an…adventure.
+ In general, if the streaming Internet service on your ship is iffy or inconsistent it may NOT work for you. Your mileage may vary.
Would NOT recommended this route if you are on a ship with older Internet facilities and support.
    Hope this helps.

We would have done the same had the rules been clearer...which only made sense...but didn't want to take the chance.  With the new guidelines then taking them the morning you are leaving the ship means you don't have to interrupt your last night to take them.  Have a great time!

Thank You for the great info! We received our SH kits in the mail a couple of days ago. I have set up the accounts for the three of us so we are ready when taking test the morning of leaving our cruise since we now know we can take day of with new guidelines ……much easier to be able to do in the room! 🙌🏼

We just completed the SH Antigen tests on Navigator on Sunday evening.  You need surf and stream to be able to do the video call.  Reception did cut out twice but we were able to get back in the que.  Overall it was a pretty easy set up and it was nice to be able to complete while in our cabin and not having to try to find somewhere to test when we left the ship.  You have to take a picture of your negative result and upload to your account and then results were within 30 minutes.   Look exactly the same as the results you receive via email if you test at a SH facility.  We will be using these again to disembark future cruises.  We loaded results to Air Canada's check in website without issue. While I can't speak to them being accepted to board, based on what was looked for this cruise and our one in January, I feel pretty confident they would be accepted.  Agents are really looking for date and the word negative.

We have always ended up getting the photo package…twice should have been done before when we saw it more of a deal.
For us, we ended up getting to know the photographers and they took time with getting great shots for us. We love so many of them and some have become our Christmas Card. We were very impressed and have tons of memories attached to them.
Totally a personal choice….but the camera loves us….lol

So if you buy 10,000 kits you'll earn enough points for a one way flight from Toronto to Montreal?

I am happy to confirm that Royal Caribbean accepted our SH test results without hesitation. It was looked at twice during the boarding process and all they looked for was result, name, date. In my panic of not knowing, a fellow passenger gave me a couple of the E-Med test so we did those in our hotel prior to leaving for port so I had those for backup. I had also booked tests at the port just in case, both of which we cancelled on the drive over. My concern now is the testing to return home. The entire test must be done a day before return or we can use the RT-LAMP ones up to 72 hours before. These tests are accepted for re-entry, contradictory to a post above. Even our travel agent uses them when she returns to Canada.

We used the Switch Health test to board the Oasis yesterday. Worked without hesitation. We will be using the Switch Health test again on last day for our flights home as well.

Agreed.  Even though there are cheaper options available (Walmart, Costco, private labs) and now Switch Health, our nearest Shopper's is literally 5 mins down the street (maybe not even).  So for pure convivence, that's what we are sticking with.

We used the QR code for our sailings on Feb 12th and Feb 20th.
We also crossed over to USA via land border.  US Border Agent only checked passports and let us through with no questions asked.  It was like pre-9/11 times.

Yes!  I heard that too this morning.  Sadly, it's good of them to try but I highly doubt it will have any effect.  They tried something similar too a while back and feds didn't pay any attention to them.

I just order 4 Switch Health antigen tests (need for 3 of us but comes in a 2 pack) for our March Cruise return (driving) from Cape Liberty to Toronto.

We decided to go this route as we can take the test kits with us and do the day prior to coming back…
We know we can take at the local Walgreens near port but was worried aboard not enough time as we are driving to land border same day we get off cruise ship.

We traveled through the border in Nov but was Walgreens PCR test at the time and had no issues ….
I’m watching the news now and officials from both sides are calling for elimination of testing at land borders …….

We decided to buy three separate Voom&Stream instead of sharing one code and it was on sale so about same price individually. We found this to be much easier for us than worrying about who is on or kicking anyone off. Will always go this route from now on no matter the price difference. Peace of mind is priceless. 🙌🏼

Only advantage between one three device Voom package versus three one device Voom packages is not having to worry about someone kicking someone else off if changing devices.
Plus a three device package is typically cheaper.
