  1. I did this twice in Jan. Royal provided a complementary shuttle. However if you are pressed to be on the ship ASAP. I wouldn't recommend. We were going from Symphony to Oasis if FLL then back to Miami for indy. We didn't get to indy until almost 1pm because communication and traffic. Also you will be noted on the system as needed the transfer, so just go to guest services to verify.

These questions are always entertaining.  The overall theme of the questions, except for when there are legitimate medical or dietary concerns, is that people want conforts of home on vacation.  Of course, it is understandable.

We are Asian.  My family craves passable Asian food every few days or so.

We used to pack Korean cup noodles on our cruises.  Eventually, we realized that some of Royal's "asian" foods were passable and we didn't really need those cup noodles.

My point here is, again absent legitimate concern, does it make or break the vacation if you don't eat your favorite nuts during a week-long cruise?  If so, get off on port days and buy some.  I try...as much as possible...not to recreate anything from home or work during vacation.  To me, a cruise is about NOT being at home.

Leave your favorite snacks, streaming devices, favorite blankets, etc at home and explore the ship, ship food, and ship ammenties.  This may mean that some experiences are bad.  Well, that is life and that is what it means to try new things.  Otherwise, why not vacation at home?

Snacks aren't always about comfort. Even if they are, there is certainly something wrong with telling people to forgo something because they "are on vacation and x amount of days without it won't make or break them." That is a very entitled answer to a question no one asked. Also what makes a vacation, is up to the individual.

Certain diets require certain things. I think people believe because there is so much food on cruise ships, that everyone will be satisfied and no one will ever be hungry. Not the case. The food on ships is seasoned for the masses and many people like to bring their own ........whatever to make it palatable. Personally my brother is a EATER, if we didn't bring nuts, pretzels, protein, etc he wouldn't be able to survive. My godchildren can't survive without Goldfishes, you best believe if I took them on a cruise I would be packing bags of them. Most of the ports won't have the exact item a person's craves. So why put yourself through the hassle.

  3. I am glad the weather was great. We went in Oct when it was supposed to be 80s and low 70s and it was 85+ all 10 days. When we went to Pompeii and Capri it was in the 90s, they got us on bottled water.

Limoncello shots are such a thing in Italy. I don't think we went to any restaurant all across and didn't get the shots. After my second one, I was over it, but my brother and grandmother didn't waste them.

Maybe I am confused what snacks are.  I just got off the Anthem of the Seas for 35 days.  I took what I considered snacks back to my room for when I was working.

I took:  Cookies, Cheese and meats, raisins, sunflower seeds, watermelon, apples, oranges, rolls, pastries, celery with peanut butter, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Pizza.

Everyone's definition of a snack differs. It sounds like you made your snacks from what was available.

My snacks consist of chocolate candy, cashews and pretzels...... none of which is readily available on any cruise ships. So I bring my own.

OP was asking because obviously what her children consider snacks won't be available.

  5. We always bring nuts in a Ziploc or storage container. We put them in our checked bag and after 20+ cruises we never had an issue.

I also want to say that on no cruise ship has snacks ever been abundant. This is particularity true if your snacks consist of nuts, chips, pretzels, etc.  Is there food, yes, but snacks are few and far in-between.

  6. You will be able to book hibachi alone. Hibachi will be between $55-70. It is an extra $15 to add it on a dining package. Classic is options like chicken and shrimp, while premier will have lobster, scallops and tenderloin. Back in the day it was $15-20 extra for premier, I currently do not know the prices as I have been booking hibachi lunch and there is no surcharge.

I always ask the casino host to check my points each day so I can keep track. Playing max bet on penny slots racks up points way faster than spreading out smaller bets.

Not true. You could play max bet and never get a win: so $5 bets with $100 may only net you 20points, while $.50/1 bets could get you 50+ points.
