  1. I figured that would be the case... I wonder if there is anything in the T&C that will prevent you from cancelling, applying the FCC to a future booking previously made (one that qualifies for transfer of FCC in this program), and then re-booking the same cancelled booking at the lower rate.
  2. Just cross your fingers they do not start cancelling specific sailings that drop below some minimum capacity threshold that they determine is still profitable for the ship to sail, etc.
  3. I'm not sure... Right now, I'm just hoping they do not start cancelling cruises at some point due to the mayhem going on now (mass cancellations).
  4. People are losing their minds. I just hope all of this does not result in mass cancellations of upcoming sailings. We're ready to go!
  5. Have a great time! Almost here!
  6. Take a peek at this past thread... the MDR menus tend to be consistent throughout the fleet in any given region from what I understand (Caribbean, Mediteranean, Asia, etc.)... I attached the MDR menus from our last 7-night Caribbean cruise on Allure last year... you will most likely have the same menus (maybe minor tweaks). At the very least you should have a very good idea of what to expect:
  7. I agree it's a little unfair to focus on the cruise industry more than any other industry, form of transport, etc. As @FManke just alluded to, I would be much more nervous about flying in a small, pressurized metal tube with 200 or more strangers potentially hacking and sneezing all around you for hours at a time. You would think that people that are concerned would focus on the airline industry a little more. IMHO, we just all need to remain educated on the ongoing situation, exercise caution and use common sense right now. Hopefully, with the warmer weather approaching, the virus will run its course and no longer be as major of a concern.
  8. @CaptainPanda... As @SpeedNoodles stated, check your invoice or call MEI directly to be 100% sure. If booked through Royal directly, it's usually 90 days from sail date. We used a major travel agency for our next 2 cruises and they require final payment 2 weeks earlier than Royal's policy (90 days + 14 days in our case) to make sure Royal is paid in full and to ensure that there are no issues.
  9. Too bad they did not add the OBC like Carnival ($200 for 7-night sailings) for those that choose to keep their current bookings... Yeah, I'm being a little greedy! ?
  10. Hey Joe! If you catch up with him on the Royal Caribbean Blog Insiders Facebook page it makes sense... ? Update: OK, I assumed wrong! I have no idea where that handle came from too!
  11. Yeah, mine is not too creative. I always create these thinking it needs to be something I can remember like on websites! LOL! It's my first name and initial of my last name plus my wedding date (6/4/04)! ?
  12. Welcome @sirdaniel ! Have a great time on Anthem and Allure!
  13. Oooo... absolutely love the itinerary! I saw Odyssey had that itinerary too. Will be following for the next 1.5 years, LOL! ?
  14. Have an amazing time! I'm sure you will! We really hate the paper straws too. Also thinking of purchasing silicone straws for our next cruise.
  15. Crew members throughout the ship will take pictures usually if asked. We had a few taken by crew members last cruise, but I agree that the actual RC photographers are not likely to snap photos with your camera.
  16. Interesting... the full day passes for Coco Beach Club were sold out on 2/2/20 when we last checked (Oasis, 5/31/20), but now they have added them back to the CP at $199 each! ... still $79.00 for our Symphony (4/24/21) cruise in the CP... they were in the $60's a couple of months ago...
  17. OK... we've only been on 5 cruises to date, but here we go! --Sailed alone (Not yet.) --Sailed with a sweetheart/spouse (Yes, every cruise with my wife... our honeymoon cruise on Disney Wonder was our first cruise ever and when we caught the bug!) --Sailed with other family members (Yes, sailed Explorer and Liberty with family.) --Done a repositioning cruise (Not yet.) --Missed a port call because of weather (Not yet.) --Had your port of disembarkation changed because of weather (Not yet.) --Sailed in or out of a port in your home town (Yes, if you consider Cape Liberty, NJ... 2 cruises so far with this upcoming May being the 3rd on Oasis.) --Sailed in or out of a port in foreign country (Not yet.) --Gotten sick on a cruise (Yes, our second cruise, on Majesty... both my wife and I got a nasty head/sinus cold. Fortunately, we have never been seasick.) --Ate at the midnight buffet (Can't remember if Disney offered it back in 2010, but Royal stopped doing that by the time we started cruising RC.) --Had formal tea on a sea day (Not yet.) --Visited a cruise line's private island (Yes, Castaway Cay, Labadee, and Coco Cay - pre Perfect Day!) --Toured the ship's galley (Not yet, but tempted to book it this May on Oasis.) --Toured the bridge (Not yet, but want to!) --Had a wardrobe malfunction on board (Not yet.) --Sailed on a cruise line other than RC (Yes, Disney for our honeymoon and first cruise ever.) --Had the chef make something special for only your table (Not yet.)
  18. Hi @Quilter620! Definitely ask your server team the first evening as @rjac suggested to be 100% sure. Take a look at this past thread... I attached all of the MDR menus from our Allure cruise last May (7-night Western Caribbean). The MDR menu is pretty standard across the fleet (at least based on region... eg. Caribbean vs. Mediterranean)... Also, take a peek at the formal night "schedule" directly from the RC website... Lobster tail night is usually the 2nd formal evening. From what I understand, and based on our experience in the past, it should generally (unless noted below as with Oasis & Allure) be the last sea day that is NOT the last evening of the cruise. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/formal-dress-code-guideline
  19. We took a ferry to Hamilton and just walked around for part of one day. You could also head out to Horseshoe Bay beach... what a beautiful beach! My avatar/pic is a shot I took of Horseshoe Bay from the road above.
  20. Have a great time! 17 weeks from today or 119 days for us, but who’s counting! LOL!
  21. The Beach Club looks nice if you want to completely relax and have upgraded food. Don't delay too long... It's sold out for our upcoming cruise (5/31/20)...
  22. Not a big sampling, but we've had consistently very good to excellent food quality and excellent service in the MDR on every ship to date (Majesty, Explorer, Liberty & Allure). I have chosen appetizers or entrees that didn't wow me (Tiger Garlic Shrimp & Asian Style Pork Tacos for example), but it's more of a personal taste issue versus food quality issue for me. Yes, the specialty dining is a step up overall and much more intimate, but we have never felt cheated or disappointed after eating in the MDR. We now tend to work in 3-4 lunches and/or dinners in specialty restaurants during the cruise just for the experience. With some of the new and different offerings now on Oasis, I think that number will rise!
  23. Hi @ChrisK2793, Yes, she's going in for the 5-year maintenance dry dock in APR 2021... I found out the hard way after my 4/18/21 cruise was cancelled, LOL! In the end, we switched to the 4/24/21 Symphony sailing for the same price (they froze the price) and received a $200 OBC!
