  1. So I just checked and they are now showing up for my 11-1 sailing as well.  They must have added them in the last couple of hours. They were not there earlier this afternoon.

I cannot find a “tour” of these rooms or even a full description of the sizes or room amenities.  Not sure I would want to be that isolated from the rest of the suite amenities (CK/SL). They seem a bit pricey but then again, they are new so I’m sure they’ll be pricey for a while until people realize how far away they are from everything. This also happened with the ATS which were very popular until people realized they were a brazilian miles from anywhere.  Then those prices came down. They are now usually the least expensive SC on the O class.  My guess is that the same will happen with the UP as well.  I just realized that there are only 2 of them. I thought all of the new rooms on the front were UP.

    Still curious about the cabins??

Me, too.  I read on CC that they may be getting RFID stateroom door access.  I find it difficult to believe that they are replacing every cabin door and integrating the technology needed but I have no way to prove or disprove this until I step onto the ship in 33 days.

Also curious about the new Ultimate Panoramic suites being added to the front of the ship.  I’ve heard they will be a Star Class but I don’t even see where they are “for sale” yet.  There seems to be a ton of them !

  3. I know this thread is about drink prices but I thought I would just throw this one out....

Today the cost of upgrading my flight from MIA-DCA to First Class went down over $800 !  Previously, it would have cost over $1100 EACH to upgrade from our coach fare to First Class.  Since I am Platinum Elite I could possibly get us upgraded to FC anyway but I hate counting on that kind of upgrade.  It just usually doesn't happen.  Anyway, I checked today and was able to upgrade our flight for $749 each.  That's still a lot but I figured it wasn't going to go any lower....so I went ahead and upgraded us.  Today I am 40 days from flying home (33 days until the cruise).

Since we are on a S2S on this one, I have a one-way flight from DCA-TPA (where we will be on Brilliance.  I booked this one FC to start with as it was a reasonable price when I booked it) and then a one-way flight from MIA-DCA where I will fly home from Oasis.

Should we plan out our dining venues for the entire cruise and let the genie know if we want to dine at specialty restaurants for dinner each night and for lunch on embarkation day? Or can we decide day by day? When will it be too late to let our genie know?

You can do anything you want to do !  You can plan everything and then change your mind 5 times a day if you want to.  I normally only ask the Genie to make our embarkation lunch reservations ahead of time so that I know what I will be doing that first day....but from then on, I just play it by ear.  It's never too late.  The Genie can get you in wherever you want to go at any time.  With so much to do on an O class ship, your plans/itinerary will change at the last minute.  When you're ready to eat, call the Genie and tell them to make you a reservation at whichever restaurant you want to go to.  Sometimes we just don't feel like going to a restaurant to eat and so we will ask the Genie to order our food and have it delivered to our suite.  The only issue with doing this is that you have to be sure to ask for EVERYthing you want (including salt, pepper, butter, bread, etc.) b/c they will bring you EXACTLY what you order and nothing more.

This kind of flexibility is really what being Star Class is all about.  Don't feel like you are stuck with a schedule that you set earlier. It allows you to be spontaneous and change your plans.  The only thing you DON'T want to do is "stand up" the Genie.  I have only done this once and I felt like a complete ingrate.  Yen had held seats for us at a show in the theater and we started playing poker and completely forgot about it.  By the time I remembered, I was running down the Esplanade to find her and she was coming back from the theater.  Of course, she had released the seats that she had been holding (and standing there waiting for us to show).  I had truly wasted her time and I felt terrible.  Other than that, do what you want to do, when you want to do it !

  5. The DBP for our Anthem cruise in Feb (2-7-20) has been reduced from $59 PP/PD to $52 PP/PD.  We aren't buying drink packages anymore but I think this is about as low as you're ever going to get it on an 8 night Anthem cruise with 5 sea days.  For that same cruise, the day pass to South Beach has also been reduced from $64.99 PP to $61.99 PP.  I had already purchased it at $64.99 but cancelled and repurchased for $61.99.  Not sure of the value of this as we have the UDP but I want to at least check out South Beach once.

We've booked the Chops+1 package. We had to make an initial reservation as usual, for the first or second night.

My question is, once on board, has anybody had any issues moving their reservations to later in the cruise, if times were available?

I have read of mixed results with moving your initial reservation to a day other than 1 or 2.  Some say they have been able to do it and others say they haven't.  I think it just depends on your sailing, how booked up they are and how accommodating the person you ask is, when you get on board.  Good luck !!!

diving in Mission Bay San Diego CA  was possibly the WORST dive experience you can have!

I got my OWD certification in southern California, too (Huntington Beach).  If all diving was like that I would never have done it again !  I went on to eventually get AOWD and Rescue Diver certs but we were long gone from CA by then !

  8. I am on almost the exact same schedule. Today marks 35 days until we sail on Oasis.  We also got our generic questionnaire a couple of weeks back and I’m looking for direct comm from the Genie any day now.  I would expect for you to hear from your Genie right around 30 days from sailing.  It’s a very exciting time !  Once you establish direct contact it gets very “Real”.  You can ask specific questions and make specific plans and requests.
