Oasis Concierge initial contact
Ogilthorpe replied to Ogilthorpe's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thank you! I tend to overplan, and the timing had my checklist all askew ?? -
For anyone who has sailed on the Oasis recently, do you recall when your initial contact from Concierge arrived? On all previous trips on other ships, our initial email was 10 days out. Recognizing that each Concierge and itinerary has their own schedule, I wanted to check in case we fell through the cracks since we are inside 8 days.

Or was that an upside-down margarita? (Am I dating myself? ...?)

I read earlier that alcohol is extremely effective against the coronavirus .... I'm heading straight to the bar ???

Excellent idea for a thread! My screen name is based on a character from the movie Slapshot. Having a hockey background, I started using that some time ago as a handle for my limited online actions: fantasy sports and this board.

There are 2 places to print your luggage tags. One is the eDocs (cruise documents) the other is under the "view boarding pass / edit check in" selection. Perhaps one was updated and one was not after assignment.

What's wrong with this picture

My app shows the same thing. Intern must be on subtitles now ....??? -
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. In any repricing actions in which I have been involved, the cruise fare and the extras are handled independently. Beverage packages, shore excursions, etc all remain as is with a reprice. The only thought I have is that perhaps an OBC was used to book the beverage packages which was not a part of the new pricing structure. I have not seen that, so there may be limitations in that case.

Excellent news! We are talking our family on that itinerary in October and experienced similar savings this week. It was a good week for those booked on the Allure next year! ??

Old pizza boxes can be palatable... provided the original pizza was made with an excessive quantity of cheese and grease ??????

Stateroom not available on RCl but is on Priceline
Ogilthorpe replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
When you are using the RCI site for booking, once you drill down to the 'Select Deck' page and choose a deck, you will be shown a deck map with available rooms highlighted on the 'Select Room Number' page. It can be tedious to search through them all but the information is there. Also, experience tells me that there is always one more room available in each category than is shown. The only way I know to find out which, is call and ask. -
Price Raises - but OBC makes less
Ogilthorpe replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That is one of the caveats for repricing, the promotions align with the current pricing. If the OBC changes, the price drop may justify the adjustment, in other cases, like your example, the new price reduction does not cover the change in OBC. I always consider the net change when deciding to accept a price change. One note: if your OBC is from a NextCruise booking, it will remain in place if you reprice. -
Price Raises - but OBC makes less

Also, be sure to include selections under the 'exclusive rates' catgories: Senior, resident, etc. Those can come and go and can result in decent savings on top of other promotions. Also remember to factor in other discounts such as a casino certificate. If it appears close, it is worth a call as I have seen RCI come up with some unexpected discount combinations to save me money. -
Even inside 75 days, that $500 difference may be enough to upgrade your cabin category. I would recommend contacting RCI to inquire.
-
Another consideration regarding price drops: even if you have made your final payment, in the event the price drops, while you can't get a refund, you may be able to upgrade your room for the same price you have already paid, or in some cases, a nominal additional cost.
