  1. "Let your credit card charge you the rate...as you will pay more with option 1." This what I've been doing too. I do have a USD credit card but I don't get any loyalty points with it so I don't use it so much anymore. That being said, I will also convert some cash before heading out at one of the local exchange bureaus where I find the best exchange rate and pay cash on board and on excursions.
  2. The only time we needed to have our passport was when we stopped in Israel. Everywhere else, we used Sea Pass and driver's license. For Set Sail Pass, I add them to my Apple Wallet and it shows up on the lock screen. That being said, I still bring a paper copy.....just in case.
  3. Yes this has happened to me before. Just log out and then log back in. That should fix it.
  4. Just got back from Harmony on Sunday and they still had the "Classics" menu.
  5. I don’t remember what the earliest time was on our Odyssey cruise last August but we chose 12:00 for our embarkation but there were earlier times. I’m thinking maybe 11:00 AM. As for travel from Rome to the ship, there will be traffic, I think there’s always traffic in Rome, but it shouldn’t take longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  6. We used Uber back in June for a weekend cruise. I think it was about $80 at the time. Another thing you may want to consider, depending if it's low season or not, is to rent a car from FLL and drop-off in MIA. Price may work out to about the same as Uber and give you some flexibility in getting around as you see fit.
  7. We've been to Four Points Sheraton a couple of times pre-cruise. They have an airport shuttle and it's not far from the port too. They don't include breakfast but the rooms are decent size. Next week we'll be staying at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale in Dania Beach. It's more expensive but looks really nice. They also have an airport shuttle.
  8. We sailed on Odyssey end of August/beginning of September. As you said, it was free on port days but we were charged $19 on a sea day. You could book through the app and, as Carotthat stated, the free ones do sell out quickly. So best to plan out ahead for the sea days and book it on day one.
  9. I'm assuming that when you say drink package vs. non drink package that you're really saying alcoholic package vs. non-alcoholic, correct? However, the refreshment package does include "bottled still and sparking water."
  10. TBH not 100% sure as we usually have the DBP and, since we hit Diamond, the refreshment package.
  11. Bottled water would not be included. Your friend would need to get a refreshment package. There is also a water bottle package that can be had as well.
  12. I really hope they get things sorted out soon. We'll be on Voyager at the end of February.
  13. 8 so far! Majesty Oasis Serenade Jewel Freedom (2) Adventure Odyssey Liberty Coming up - Harmony in January and Voyager end of February
  14. You can just give them your room number as well and they will look you up to see if you have a package or not.
  15. Every cruise I’ve been on, the ship time always changed to local time. They will let you know in the Cruise Compass and the waiters at dinner will always let you know too.
  16. I really doubt that this is a new trend that RC is starting. I remember many years ago, on a Disney cruise, that we had not one but two medical emergencies. The first as we were sailing away from St. Thomas required us to turn back to the dock to let the sick passenger and family off. The next one happened a day or two later on our way to Castaway Cay, which required the ship to divert to Turks and Caicos where again we had to disembark the sick passenger and family. Unfortunately due to these unfortunate incidents, we never made it to Castaway Cay.
  17. We also booked our first ever junior suite on Odyssey in August for a 12 night cruise. No 1/2 bath only the full bath but great size room. Highlight for us was ability to use Coastal Kitchen for dinners. Aside from the specialty restaurants, we ate once in MDR and the food in CK was far superior, so much so, that we never went back to MDR. Also, much to our surprise, CK was never full, never had a problem getting a reservation.
  18. A couple of weekends ago when my wife and I sailed on Liberty, not once did we have to sign for or get a receipt for our Diamond drinks. The only receipt we did get was on our last night when we were charged for a drink even though we were pretty sure we still had one leftover.
  19. Sounds like our exact situation 2 weekends ago. After disembarkation my wife and I grabbed a cab to the airport and, due to her status, we were able to have the airline hold our bags for us. Then we grabbed an Uber and headed to the Galeria mall for a few hours and then grabbed an Uber back to the airport.
  20. In August, when we sailed on Odyssey, we used a car service from the Rome airport to hotel and from hotel to port. The company was CabRoma and the service very good and had better prices than most of the other car services. www.cabroma.com
  21. This situation happened with me as well except that it was my wife and son that went on a weekend cruise back in March. When checking points once she got back I was surprised to see that my point total also went up the same value as hers. So our point total and status are identical.
  22. I had this issue with my app but not on the website. I would go through the process of linking the reservation and getting the message that it's already linked, press the back button and then the missing cruises would reappear. This is happening a lot lately, but it seems to be okay now as all the cruises appear on the app today without having to re-link.
  23. This is my understanding as well. However, just got back from a 3-night Liberty cruise yesterday and we were never asked to sign for our drinks except if we exceeded our 4-drink voucher limit. That being, said we did run into a couple of issues with this as it seems not all staff are up to date with the voucher system. For instance, on night one, we knew we wouldn't be hitting our 4-drink limit, so we asked the waiter to apply our glasses of wine against the vouchers but instead found a 50% charge for the wine. Went to guest services to have that charge removed. Then on our last night, we knew we would be having our 4 drinks, so we asked that they apply the 50% wine coupons against the wine we had at dinner. When we ordered drinks later in the casino, the bar waiter brings us a statement for our drink charge. We should have had our final vouchers to use against them, but I wasn't going to argue at the table and as it was the last night of the cruise the guest services lineup just wasn't worth the wait.
  24. Are we allowed to do this? If so, I think this would be the best option for us as well. We're also on Harmony but in January.
