  1. We used Cab Roma for most of it and another service, Civitavecchia Cab Service, for our trip from the port to the airport as I was late to book with Cab Roma. Very happy with both services and all done by email. I wasn't sure how we would be in touch with them once we landed/disembarked but as soon as i had WIFI, I received notifications from each company by WhatsApp. www.cabroma.com www.civitavecchiacabservice.com
  2. We have used a car service the last 2 summers and really it can't be beat. Door-to-door service! It may be a little more expensive but for us it was worth it.
  3. I used to always take my picture on the app during check in but had to retake when boarding all the time. Now I don’t bother anymore and it only takes seconds to do at boarding.
  4. On our last trip on Oasis a couple of weeks ago, we used the services of SAS Transport. We used them from our hotel in Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami and back to FLL airport. The van in the picture looks like a "molester" van but in fact was a nice modern Mercedes van that took us both ways. They charge $15 per person per trip (up to 4 people) and $13 if you're more. Everything is done by email and was booked 3 weeks before our cruise. Wasn't sure what to expect at first but since we were 5 decided to try it out. In the end we were quite happy with our experience with them.
  5. The SetSail pass may not say D or D+ but it does show up in the color of the pass (at least when I see it in my Apple Wallet).
  6. We've sailed in JS on a few occasions and have only been refused a CK reservation once. That was on day 1 of our January cruise and we were probably late to try and reserve. All other cruises where CK was available, we had no issue getting in at the time we wanted. In fact, we usually reserve for 8:00 PM and at that time CK isn't too full anyway. Also, we definitely enjoy the extra space and double points.
  7. I was on this sailing as well. From what I heard she's doing okay. In fact, there were 2 shows later that week. After the first show, there were comments I saw saying that the show was short and not complete, about 25 minutes total. We were leery of going to the later show but happy we did. It was the full 50 minute show and it was spectacular. Whether the injured diver was part of the show, I cannot say.
  8. If you have an iPhone download the Set Sail passes to your Apple Wallet. I always do this now and it's so much easier at check-in.
  9. Think of it this way, all the extra steps will be good for you after all the eating (and possibly drinking).
  10. We've stopped uploading our photos because they never used them. They always take a photo at the terminal when you check in.
  11. There are no restrictions with diamond vouchers unlike the DBP. You can give the drinks to whoever you want to (not minors).
  12. Got off Oasis last Sunday and points appeared last night, 5 days. Record?
  13. I would call them about this. Same thing happened to us where we booked a jr suite GTY on a casino comp and when the Royal Up offer came in it was for cabins in lower categories than what we booked for. We called and it was a good thing we did. Somehow the reservation in their system was messed up but when we called everything got straightened out. Next Royal Up offers we received were for categories above.
  14. For my most recent cruise, which was a first using GTY booking, as soon as my Set Sail pass was available I added it to my Apple Wallet. It showed deck number and muster number and under room it showed GTY. But at the bottom, where the barcode was there was a 9 digit code then a hyphen and 4 other numbers. Those 4 numbers was the room number. I checked online to see what type of room it was and it was the type we reserved and in the end was our room.
  15. It is not, unless Cafe Promenade is serving Starbucks products. Also Cafe 270 on Odyssey serves Starbucks products as well. But you can't use DBP at a Starbucks kiosk onboard.
  16. Our experience has been, when we first sailed as Diamond last January on Harmony, it seemed that most waiters weren't familiar with the system yet as it had just been implemented a little while prior. We never received a receipt and would always ask how many vouchers we had left. On our last cruise on Independence at the end of November, almost every time we ordered we did receive a receipt. When we didn't, it usually was because we ordered from a waiter on the pool deck instead of going to the bar. Getting the receipt definitely made it easier for leaving a tip since we may not always have cash on us. With each cruise after Harmony, we would get more receipts than we did on the previous cruise.
  17. We've done it both ways at Next Cruise. One thing to remember is whichever currency you book the cruise in will carryforward to Cruise Planner as well. So if you book in CDN then all prices in CP will show up in CDN. Same applies for the OBC you may have, they will show it in the currency of the booking.
  18. Location is good, deck 6 pretty much mid-ship in a cluster of 4 JS. It’s an adjoining room but we’re not using it as such. Actually the only reason we did GTY was because that was the only JS option available for that sailing. It’s our first experience with it.
  19. We had booked a junior suite GTY and that’s what we ended up with.
  20. I hit 30 days out from my cruise a couple of days ago and now notice that the deck, room number and muster number all show up on the app.
  21. Normally, when they grant the exception, they will require the other spouse to purchase the Refreshment Package. That's what they did to us.
  22. We have been twice on Odyssey, both times were for Mediterranean cruises, and we absolutely loved it. There is so much to do onboard that you need to force yourself to be bored. You will love it!
  23. Our 8 night cruise this past summer, day 2 was formal night and day 6 was dress your best.
  24. I doubt it. Prepaid cards are a risk. Update. Just got off Independence yesterday. I had a prepaid digital MasterCard worth $100 that was in my Apple Wallet so I thought I would give it a try and see if I could use it to pay off a portion of my onboard account. Short answer is yes and the remaining balance was charged to the credit card on file when I checked-in. The only thing was that they needed to enter the card information manually as their system was not able to accept Apple Pay.
