Man, if only Moderna and Pfizer had access to the same YouTube and Facebook information you do, the pandemic would've been solved months ago!

We're lucky that we do have a vaccine but hypothetically, if we didn't, do you think that would mean the world would continue the way it has for the last 9 months for years? I'm 100% certain that the public wouldn't take it eventually, indeed compliance with many rules in the UK are low currently, especially compared to Spring.

The vaccination is the only thing that will stop the masking, social distancing, cancelled cruises, closed restaurants, closed everything. Its totally safe and I plan to get mine Friday when my hospital receives its shipment. Until 70% of the population is vaccinated your life will never return to normal.

Have to agree with @mworkman on this one. It is a norm for residents of larger Asian cities to wear masks to reduce the amount of pollution they inhale. Wearing masks to reduce the spread of Covid-19 isn't really a "thing" there because so many people already wore them.
In the US, very few people wore masks regularly before it became a governmental mandate. Most of those you saw wearing them before March 2020 - older women of Asian descent.

That's not why they were masks.  They were them as a courtesy to others.

I don't think so. After the 1918 pandemic, things were the way they were before very quickly.
Human nature has not changed in a mere one hundred years. We will eventually be back to maskless cruising. It's just a matter of how long it will take.

Thing is its not just cruiseships! Like it or not facemasks will be part of the new norm for a good while yet be it on land or sea!
Right now if you want to go into town by bus or taxi facemasks must be worn, you go for something to eat you need a facemask when you enter the premises, you go for a beer or 6 you need a mask!
If you want to go abroad then Airlines will probably keep facemasks as a code of practice for a long time, well after vaccines have been given. Hotels you need to have them and if you are in your room when roomservice arrives you need to put on a facemask before they enter.
Simple fact is the world has changed forever, things will never be like they were before.
AND if this link is true its not going to get better any time soon so we may as well make the best of what we have while we can

Thinking about this more, restaurants and bars have been identified as high risk for COVID spread.  The risk is so great that many state and local governments have either restricted them or closed them.
Banning seniors would be like suggesting that bars and restaurants ban anyone over 65 even though no government or health agency is suggesting or requiring that.
What about Churches?  Should any church that is open ban seniors?

No.  Singapore had no test cruise requirement.  These are scheduled cruises that any Singaporean could go to the website and book with a credit card business as usual.

Because you can't discriminate amongst your customer base? And what good would it do research wise if you only allowed healthy 25-35 yr olds for the foreseeable future. I don't think this forum would take too kindly to the latter.

There is zero community spread in Singapore and cruise lines are working very closely with the government to arrive at the guidelines they are using.
Deciding to ban groups of people that the government isn't requiring be banned has its own set of implications.  It's known that certain demographics have higher impact.  Banning targeted members of a community based on race for example would be a disaster especially when no government is suggesting this approach.
Men are getting hit harder.  Should all men be banned?

Serious bummer, I had wanted to sail Empress on one of her 7-night Bermuda or the CA/NE sailing that goes all the way down to Montreal before she got retired from the fleet.

Wearing a mask will be a personal choice, if it is mandated to be on the ship, then people will have to chose. I think it will be a small choice in the bigger picture. There will be new rules when ever we start cruising again, I guess following the new rules will be a choice people will have to make.

I know enough about this top to decline on wearing a mask, or getting a vax or getting traced while on board.  Cruising is the most social vacation there is.  With these mandates in place, I will not cruise until all 3 mentioned are removed.
