I would actually be completely on board and looking forward to a 7 day private island / sea day cruise.

Historically this would appear for me for Allure cruises before boarding but not other ships.  Now virtually all ships show this icon, even Empress.
They could be testing it fleet wide using the crew that are on board to validate functionality.  
While I'm hopeful this will mean it's soon to be available fleet wide we won't know until cruises restart.

Someone else emailed me with a similar photo for their Adventure of the Seas cruise.
I want this to be true, but I have seen instances of the chat icon popping up before a cruise only to be gone once onboard.  
Let's hope they rolled out chat!

Perhaps I am just late to the game but did you guys see this? Just popped up on the Royal app for November 2020 Oasis cruise. Hopefully that means no more having to find creative ways to stay in touch with your sailing group, buying Voom, or using your phone plan data so long as you can chat with them via the Royal app. Yay! ?

Nice! I hope so, our stateroom white board outside our door (even Thanksgiving "family" week) suffered some very shall I say interesting drawings by those passing by. Not to say we didn't laugh (mostly, wish I thought to take pics) but the white board HAD to be removed after about day 3 early a.m. because honestly as the week went on it was getting a bit frightening when looking at that door, lol. We had this type of communication on the other cruise line and it did work amazingly well, we enjoyed it a great deal. Super convenient. 
 

@WAAAYTOOO yes- last year’s Black Friday/cyber Monday deals were not worth the time I spent hoping for good deals. But I am fine letting go of these sales if Royal (and the CDC) say that cruises are a go in November!

Still clinging to that strand of hope for Nov 9 on Grandeur, I just said screw it and booked my 1st cabana at Labadee, price is just too good (and I'm promoting social distancing...I'm a responsible citizen after all!)  ?

I've purchased my items I wanted for my December 12th cruise on the Symphony. I have HIGH hopes!

It was our 7th wedding anniversary and we decided to take the 2019 holiday cruise on Mariner since we never had a honeymoon. We had so much fun but one of our favorite things is the unlimited dining package! We are foodies so we tried every restaurant. We went to Izumi Hibachi twice because the food was soooo good!

@WAAAYTOOO and since these cruises are quickly approaching the 60 day countdown, I am not sure if there will be too many more big sales like this, especially if cruising begins again in November. 
 
I am really leaning toward YOLO booking all of the items I want in hopes that our holiday cruise sails..

@Neesa I really wanted to do the thrill and chill too! If Oasis is not one of the ones that will resume sailing in November, but Mariner is, I will likely be switching over to Mariner ?
These cruise planner prices, especially on the cabanas at Perfect Day, are just too good to pass up!

The new cruise planner sale has some really good deals but I am hesitant to buy anything (and have a bunch of $$$ tied up) until there is some indication that cruising (though limited) will resume in November. I plan to be on the 2020 Oasis thanksgiving cruise.
 
I foresee that if cruising does restart, many of the cruise planner items are going to go up in price and/or be sold out pretty quickly once the news is announced regarding cruise resumption. On the other hand, I don’t want to wait (and wait and wait) for a refund if the 2020 holiday cruises are cancelled. 
Are any of you planning to YOLO purchase cruise planner deals for your 2020 holiday cruises or are you holding off until we have word that cruises will resume in November/December?

I believe this is 100% likely.  I fear that onboard prices are going to be sky-high.  At some point, the Cruise Planner prices are going to shoot up and stay there. I really don’t see any downside to purchasing CP items on sale.  The worst that can happen is that you get a refund or FCC if the cruise is cancelled.

I went to town and purchased everything we wanted at these amazing prices. Thinking positive. I know the refunds do come so I did it! We will hopefully sail a 4 night on Mariner Thanksgiving week 2020. Just going to the private island 2x so feeling just maybe....
