Is this mandated by the CDC or Royal Caribbean's own guidelines?
-
My mother will be 71 in September and has diabetes. Under the current restrictions she would not be able to cruise with us in December. I asked my MEI agent about these restrictions and what we should do. She stated that these are CDC guidelines but I do not think that is accurate and can not find the age restriction on the CDC website.
What is people above 70 doing??? Cancelling???? I can't imagine not brining her, this is a family trip that we do with my niece and her family as well. We lost my sister to cancer almost a year ago and like to vacation together.
Thanks!

I am also booked on Allure in December with family in 2 separate rooms. Without the amplification we do not wish to sail on Allure. We have reached out to our TA at MEI to help us. We are hopeful we can go on Harmony instead (same date). This would be an increase in revenue for them as the 2 rooms cost appx $500 more but we are ok with that but not willing to pay the change/transfer fee. Time will tell if having an agent with MEI helps with this.
Well MEI was not able to get Royal to move us to another ship without the fee. I know the Allure is amazing as she is but I sold my extended family on the Amplification features otherwise we would be doing Disney. Hope they announce something soon....in all honesty I just want El Loco Fresh...my 12 year old nephew wants the slides and all.

I have a cruise out of Miami on December 6th on Harmony of the Seas and I’m 75% sure it will happen. Not sure of much else, or where it ultimately will go, but as of it’s Coca Cay, St. Thomas and St. Kitts. Two of the three RCI can’t control but maybe we will go to Coco Cay for three visits .
Harmony is in Port Canaveral on December 6...I am looking to go to that cruise instead of my Allure from Miami.

Chris is leaving the ship in 2 days. His flight apparently is out of Miami to Heathrow and then from their to Manchester and then he will find his way to Liverpool. Him and his buddy are definitely not happy.
I am becoming slightly more optimistic about cruising sooner than most think. It will be slow at first, Caribbean only and private islands but at least revenue coming into the lines. I mean I'm not sure my Oasis May 10th cruise will go off but June I think definitely.
I would love to know how many were leaving, all he says is a lot. Knowing how many were leaving would really give an idea of the future plans.

I thought the same thing....hopefully it is not a large amount of staff being sent home. Maybe the Oasis had additional staff onboard after the Amplification????
If this ends up being widespread on all ships then we will know more.
Hoping for the best.

It seems they are halting cruises also starting Saturday, this just came over my local news feed. Resuming 01 April 20 I believe. Praying for this illness to take a hike. Be safe everyone.
Correct, it states that in the new release I posted above. Crazy times right now.

Good luck getting double points for a no show at the port. I just did this on Symphony (unsuccessfully) and did not get double points. Was told that this changed in January and if the other person is not cancelled at least 2 days prior to cruise then you will not get the additional points.

I Just Thought I Would Share This Deal!
Here is a kinda last minute cruise deal. It is one of the cheapest cruises I have seen for that ship out of Seattle.

When I did the mock booking four two people it came to $422 dollars for a interior.
WOW!

Hey there,
Please reach out to me so I can look into your reservations. If things are not working well with the agent you are with, I am happy to have another agent jump in and help you. This is not the level of service that we are wanting to provide, so I cannot jump in and make corrections if I am not aware of issues.
Please reach out to me at [email protected]
Thanks Annette,
I do appreciate it, but it is just one cruise and it will work out. Thanks for your support of the boards and all the valuable services MEI provides.

Not sure if I can agree with that recommendation. I currently have some cruises with a Mei Travel agent because of the great reviews. I am regretting my decision. The agent never does price adjustments for me and I always had to reach out to her. When I send her these emails, she always sounds very irritated. I think I will switch back to booking the cruises myself.
Sorry to hear, I also have to do the same with my MEI agent. My agent went on vacation and I worked with another who was very responsive and great to work with....night and day to be honest. So not all are bad, most here praise their agents so I think that speaks volumes of the company.

I would call back in again and argue that. You sailed solo and effectively paid the price for the other passenger. That other passenger certainly didn't get the points, so you deserve them!
I have called twice and spoke to a supervisor as well. My friend just went through this a few weeks as well and did not get them. Apparently the change happened the first of the year from what I am told

but you no longer will receive double points. I just sailed Symphony and the other passenger was a "no show" and I did not get double points. I called in and was told that I would no receive as it was booked for 2 people and the other was not canceled off. I gave up

Here is Brian Leavitt's schedule, really enjoyed him last week on Symphony.
*BIG news* For 2020 it looks like I’m trading in my current model, Liberty OTS, for these newer, bigger models. Happy to announce that I’ll be floating between the Symphony and the Harmony OTS. (Dates Below). The Liberty and the wonderful Texas guests will always have a special place in my heart.
Symphony: 2/1/20 - 4/4/20, 7/11/20 - 9/5/20
Harmony: 9/6/20 - 11/15/20- rjac and Luv2Travel

I am also staying at the Hilton Downtown March 5-7, before our cruise on Symphony. How was your stay? We plan on going to Little Havana and South Beach on Friday as well as the Dollar Store and the grocery store for wine and water to take on the cruise.
It was great! We had a Junior Suite Bayview on the 17th floor and it was amazing. Now in all honesty the rooms are a little aged to Hilton standards but clean and was worth the price we paid. I tried to get a room there for my cruise this weekend but with the boat show in town the room was over $400. I also plan to stay there in December with the family before our cruise. The free MetroMover is right beside the hotel and takes you many places free. Very simple to use and FREE.

On the Oasis there was a "nightlight" in the bathroom that stayed on all the time. Do the interior rooms not have that light? I asked how to turn it off and was told it was for safety.
-
you can also turn on wifi calling feature on your phone (I know iPhones have this). I was able to make and receive calls while onboard the Oasis a few weeks ago. However make certain the phone is in airplane mode to prevent additional charges.

We just had this happen in January and did not receive double points. I've asked my travel agent to look in to it, but haven't heard of any progress on it.
@steverk please update here if you get a resolution.
Thanks!
