I, like the rest of you guys, was SO surprised to see the sale pop up today! And even better - my ports actually had sales on the excursions! yay surprise sales!! Woot! Rebooking at new sale price successful! I was nervous about mucking it up by doing it myself online so I called Royal and it was a BREEZE! Saved $40 from the regular price. Still not the $100+ we snagged last time before the ship change, but I'll take it!

I can't speak on this 100% as I'm not in the FCC boat but I wonder if it's a similar thing as when my cruise had the ships shift. There was a deadline date for customers to make it known they wanted a refund and then, about 2 or 3 days after that date things started shifting to make sense (in my case, my cruise planner refund processed and my final payment was able to process). Maybe the FCC is the same thing and you'll see something in a couple of days?

Sounds like Royal is handling it well all the way around. They didn't immediately cause chaos, and did a second, more thorough test to confirm the results before making rash decisions. I know it had to have been TERRIFYING but I'm glad you guys made it through and can finish out your cruise with no more drama!

Nice! And it seems like it was about a week between completion of the test cruise and receipt of the certificate. That's good turn around time after what we've gotten used to with the CDC. Gives me good hope for the other test cruises RCG needs to get done.

Maybe you can squeeze him in for a Johnson and Johnson one? That's effective 2 weeks from injection so if you get it on his birthday...? That's probably a lot of stress though....

So in fantasizing about my return to cruising (75 days!) I'm thinking about my MDR favorites and I'm reminded that the bread rolls aren't heated - or at least they weren't on our 2017 & 2019 trips. (and i think according to AK adventures weren't on Adventure this year either) Which I find an odd choice because I know they were at least lightly warmed on our trip on Freedom in 2015. Anyone know why they seem to have stopped heating them? And more importantly...will they be heated if I ask?

I know you mentioned that you don't get bored in the room but I have to wonder...how? Lol. I'm super introverted as well and really like my alone time, but I think not even being able to stretch my legs and walk the hall would get to me after more than 10 days. (that was about as long as it took me before I wanted to go outside when the lockdowns first started)

Like everyone else has said: - while you are at home/in the US you shouldn't be charged for downloading apps and what not on wifi or using your data (unless you go over your own data package of course) - BUT once you get on the ship think of it almost immediately as a foreign territory and turn your phone on AIRPLANE mode. You can also double secure it by turning off mobile data and roaming to be extra extra sure nothing goes through that could charge you. (Technically you have until the ship reaches international waters but there's no clear line on when that is after departure and you certainly do not want to forget when you're too busy enjoying cruise day) - THEN turn on Wi-FI ONLY. This can be done while maintaining the disconnect from cell towers (airplane mode) which is what causes charges. The Royal app and all features within are able to be used without having to buy a Royal Caribbean internet package. There is a daily charge for the messaging feature in the app ($1.99/day/device I think - @Matt knows best) but that is an optional use feature and as far as I've heard you will not be required to use it for anything on board.

I'm so excited about the new booking deadline cuz now we can book our 2022 cruise onboard like we usually try to do! Definitely gonna score diamond in 2022!

Welcome to the suite life! Haven't had the chance to partake in a suite in an oasis class but I imagine complimentary room service is offered across all ships. I highly recommend it! Especially on boarding day and for early port days. Not having to plan in time to get properly dressed for breakfast in public or having to fight the crowds on boarding day for lunch/dinner is really one of my favorite perks. Also... Pocket the soaps. They're good soaps. And the scent will remind you of cruising when you're on land lol

So I am watching the bungalows at labadee to see if we can grab them again closer to our original cost. I booked them at the currently higher cost to be sure we get one but in case the price drops, I want to grab it right away. BUT I paid with OBC and credit card and I'm worried about the OBC not immediately adding back to my cruise planner. When the excursion was cancelled by Royal Caribbean, due to the ship switch, it took about a week for the OBC refund to show up. I'm worried that will happen again if I try to rebook for a price drop and I'll be forced to use out of pocket money cuz the OBC won't be available...

How would I go about getting this vs having a cancelled excursion sent back to my card? The terms and conditions state: "Cancellations will be refunded in the original form of payment; onboard credits will be applied to your account, and credit card, debit card, or other form of cash equivalent payments will be credited back to the original form of payment within 30 days."

It's such a great experience! I would do it at every port if I could afford it! Lol

I think I will always pick the Horseback riding in Falmouth. I love horseback riding and then getting to combine it with going in the water *chefs kiss* I also really liked that, once they heard and saw I had some experience on horseback, one of the guides let my horse actually run in the water while everyone else trotted or walked. Now THAT'S an experience! Feeling those powerful muscles crash against the waves and not even take a break in stride ? Runner-up might be the Salsa Salsa Salsa in Cozumel. I like eating and the fact that they gave us stuff to nibble on while we made the salsa was great! Plus you get those salsa recipes as part of the excursion to take back home. I made it at home and my friends LOVED it.

This shouldn't be funny but I can't help but chuckle about it. Especially contemplating that he did it just to get on a cruise. lmao but in all seriousness -hope he's okay. From what I hear, there's a serious undertow in that river that makes trying to swim across almost deadly

I don't know how long it will take to transfer but my OBC refund was back on my trip planner after 5 days from the date I got the refund issued email.
