KricketB73 got a reaction from Deedeelynn in Lazy Lizard at St Maarten
We will be cruising to St Maarten in a couple weeks and I had a friend who just went there give me advice on this.  She said to not book any excursions for this port.  Instead when you get to the beach you will be approached by many people trying to "sell" you beach chairs.  She stated the further down the beach you go, the cheaper this gets.  She said she got a deal mid-beach for 2 beach chairs, a bucket of beer, 2 drinks, and access to the restaurants restrooms for $20 total.
This is what we will be doing ?

KricketB73 reacted to Lovetocruise2002 in FYI: Re-pricing a "sold out" room
This topic has been discussed a bit here of late and I thought I would share my experience today.  As many of you know, I track pricing on my bookings.  Many have asked lately what happens when a cabin is "sold out" and if it would still be eligible for a re-price?  I have had very good luck with this situation in the past.  You can see how I go about doing it here.
Yesterday I noticed that the current August promo includes KSF up until December 2020.  We have the Villa booked on Harmony with 5 kids on that reservation under the age of 12.  That cabin is obviously "sold out" as there is only one of those on the ship and we have it.  I did a mock booking yesterday morning and checked it against my records and there appeared to be a price drop on the suites overall with the KSF promo.  Later in the day, I emailed my TA and heard back this morning.  Saved an extra $1315 with KSF even with a "sold out" cabin.
The reason why I am sharing this is not to say that this will always be the case, but it does pay off to check and ask.

We'll be on the Harmony 8/11 as well. Thanks for the heads up about the beach chairs in Saint Maarten. If you see anyone wearing any Iowa State gear there is a good chance it will be someone in our group (4 person group, all cyclone fans). I am soooo ready for this week to be done so it is time to cruise!

Me Three. I was expecting to read about some new "wellbeing" offer from the onboard spa.  A real step up from having your feet checked. ?

Both @joshvc and @AshleyDillo are correct. You can bring non-alcoholic beverages. Up to 12 bottles/cans per room and you must carry it in your carry on luggage.
    Sure

You have to carry it all onto the ship.  It can go in a suitcase on wheels that you will drag onto the ship and keep with you until your room is ready.
if you do end up accidentally checking that bag it will be delayed in being delivered to you and they will, as @joshvc explained, make you open up your luggage to show the items are allowable beverages.
Also remember this allowance is per cabin, so hopefully you can split the beverages amongst others in your cabin up to lighten a single load.

1: Yes! this has been clarified by Royal recently. My only caveat is that we haven't done it yet- we're also sailing very soon and will have assorted sodas, waters, and wine within their limits with us.

2: Has to be in a carry-on, sort of. From what I've seen here, if it's in the checked bag, it'll get held by security. They don't search your stuff quite like TSA does, they'll make you come down and open your bag and show that it's permissible stuff.

3: Not sure on this one, but probably? Might be a heavy bag, but I think it should be ok.

We sail out of Port Canaveral in 12 days and I have rented a SUV from the airport and will return it to the Enterprise right next to the port.  We are staying overnight at Radisson Resort at the Port in Port Canaveral and will be needing a vehicle that day before we board the ship (a larger size SUV is running us apx $100).  Otherwise I would have gone with www.goport.com.  They say they only charge $14.99 pp one-way or $29.98 pp round-trip to/from Port & Airport.

I'm not sure if RC still has it, but in 2016 we did a Rum Tour.  It took us to Bluebeard's Tower and a pirate museum.  We got to sample more flavors of rum than I could even count then ended up at a fun bar by the tower and amber waterfalls.  It was a very fun day!!

We have not tried our Roku but we have streamed the Stanley Cup playoffs from my laptop on both RCCL and DCL.  It is not the easiest thing to accomplish but it is possible.  If it is regular shows I personally wouldn’t do it and just enjoy the cruise.

The bigger issue is there's no way to change the input on your TV

It's been a while since on Harmony so I don't really remember but some of the back of the TV's are boxed in and you can't even reach the HDMI ports.
There was another discussion on another thread about getting Royal to allow mirroring from devices to TV's but that hasn't happened yet either.

I also sail next month on HoS.  I had a friend who just went to St Maarten tell me not  to bother with an excursion and just enjoy the beach.  It is easy walking distance and she said they walked down to the middle of the beach strip and were able to rent two chairs, get a bucket of beer, two drinks, and use of the restaurant's bathroom facilities for $20.  This is what we plan on doing.
*She said to not rent the chairs they offer as you first arrive at the beach, these will cost you more.  The further down you go the less expensive it gets.
