  1. Thank you!! A few other things seem to be marked down on the Anthem NYE cruise, but I finally pulled the trigger on VOOM for myself (kiddos already have it thanks to the intern sale last year).
  2. I’m going to say September. Signed, The wife of an airline pilot who is hopeful that the worst of this will be in the rear view mirror in 6 months.
  3. Viking Cruises is suspending all operations (river and ocean) for embarkations dated 3/12/20 - 4/30/20.
  4. If you do this, do the purchases you’ve already made stay intact or do you need to rebook? Example, if someone got in on the $18 DBP would that move to the “new” reservation or is it canceled?
  5. Our good friend’s parents and aunt (if you can follow that, lol) go every year. Our friends have been on it a few times - but not this year - and their daughter (now 11) has always managed to befriend the players’ younger kids. Apparently she’s ended up in a couple of different family photos, lol. And not to leave you hanging... I-O! 😉
  6. Our kids were 8 and 11 when we went on Adventure a few years ago. They had ZERO interest in spending any time in the kids club. Most we got out of them was 90 min one evening so my husband and I could have dinner alone. They will be 12 and 14 when we go on Anthem later this year. Both are looking forward to participating in some of the teen activities.
  7. Anthem NYE cruise has all prices listed. I’ll continue to be happy with my $18 drink pkg. 😉
  8. Echoing another poster - is this on all ships?? I'm doing a New Year’s cruise on Anthem with my 12 and 14 year old sons, who will be in 7th and 9th grades. Part of the appeal was that both would be in the same group and could do fun activities with kids their age and experience a little bit of freedom. No freaking way will my middle schooler want to do anything with 1st graders. Sigh.
  9. This is something to keep in mind as this is how it works for ALL pricing (excursions, packages, etc). When something is labeled as “x% off” or “BOGO” that bottom line price is already factored in when they show the per person price on the main page. There is no additional discount.
  10. If you already know it’s cheaper to book the second cruise than to stay at the hotel, why not just go ahead and do that now?🤔
  11. I haven’t dined in (or been on a ship with) CK, but based on what you’ve described, common sense would be to wait to be seated... unless there is signage indicating otherwise.
  12. Very cool. That said, I’m one of those people who prefers to *never* think about what’s below the waterline... the ship just glides along the top and there’s only like 3’ of water below us. 😉
  13. I’m going to be there NYE on Anthem, and it appears so will Navigator and Mariner. Good thing I already bought passes for the beach club, lol.
  14. I don’t know what you initially booked, but it certainly does not sound like it was a shopping trip! Sounds like a completely different excursion. Edited to add - I would go to the cruise planner and see if this ‘new’ excursion is listed and check the description to verify.
  15. Just remember that there are cameras *everywhere*... 😉 (not including your stateroom, of course)
  16. And you confirmed with your friends that they did not submit (and subsequently win) a Royal Up bid? While I can’t say for sure, outside of the Royal Up program, why you were snubbed but your initial post certainly does not exhibit happiness for your friends. You were/are clearly upset that you were ‘passed over’ for a cabin you feel you are entitled to. To answer your question... I joined C&A because I think a number was assigned to me when I booked my first cruise.
  17. It honestly depends on the child. My 13-yr-old was talking in complete sentences, rivaling some kindergarteners, by the time he was 18 mo old. My 11-yr-old barely spoke before the age of 3... probably because his big brother wouldn’t let him get a word in. 😉 I still highly doubt Chloe asked to be put on a railing (whether in words or gestures) that was 2’ over her head. Unless it was common practice for her grandpa, or other family members, to put her on railings... where children have no business sitting, regardless of time or place. And GMAFB with sleazeball Winkleman saying that since there were no signs prohibiting sitting on the railing, then people will assume they’re meant to be sat on.
  18. We cruised on Adventure in 2017 and booked this onboard for our whole family. Had to cancel, though, because we were told that shorts were not allowed and neither my kids nor I had long pants on board.

  20. I saw the video. The whole family is a bunch of money-grabbing lying liars who lie.
  21. You got your sea legs! I’ve found my first day post-cruise to be the worst... it’s typically gone by 48 hours. Best thing o found to deal with it was not to sit and stare at small screens - tv, computer, etc. I don’t mean that to be tongue and cheek - I used to work in a cubicle and actually had to go home because I was getting nauseated trying to sit and my desk and work.
  22. Every bag/person gets screened. Not complying will get you the fun experience of additional screening. 😉 If you haven’t already, be sure to read up this site... https://www.dhs.gov/how-do-i/learn-what-i-can-bring-plane
  23. Make sure you follow the liquids rule for bags you carryon and have to get screened by TSA. If you’ve got slip-on shoes, wear those while flying.
  24. The man is 51.... less than 10 years older than me and, I’m guessing, younger than many on this board. I absolutely do not consider 51 to be “elderly” or incapable of taking care of children, unless there are other mental or physiological conditions at play..
