Sitting at the Schooner Bar.  Overheard bartender talking with a guest.  DX covers up to $13 drinks.
Guest remarked it showed a $12 limit on the Internet.  Bartender responded on this ship basically everything at the bar is covered except wines that are over $13.

and maybe tomorrow if I squint hard enough, I might be able to spot @twangster on Empress.  So close...?

I'd let her pack nice if she wants. I am bringing two gowns and plan to dress up because I like to do that. I'm not going to be the fashion police about it but I tend to dress "fancy" all the time any way. I wore a fancy hat to a funeral yesterday and people were rather amazed. Apparently people only wear hats to a Derby party. I wear mine out to brunch or the grocery store. If no one else wants to look elegant I don't let that stop me from dressing up.
I do what I want.

 

Both of us found the WOW bands to be perfectly comfortable and convenient when we were on Ovation last month.   Unless I have a shirt with a collar (which I hate wearing) so that the lanyard doesn't sit directly on my neck,  I might as well be wearing a sloth around my neck as much as a lanyard.  I hate when they hang around my neck directly (don't get me wrong - LOVE sloths, don't wanna wear one 14 hours a day. Seriously, 30 minutes TOPS on the sloth scarf).

I love the magic bands at Disney so I know I would like the wowbands.  That being said, I usually have a lanyard and that works great for me not losing it the sea pass card.  It however doesn't stop me from getting sunscreen on the sea pass card and having the print smear off... That would definitely not happen with a wow band.  Jane

We are fan sleepers and always travel with one.  We have a small fan but it is not battery powered.  It works great at blocking out any outside noise too.  
 

We had one on explorer and indy and were able to make it as cold as we liked during the night. This was in the Med when it was in the 90s (35c) outside. 

Again I feel the need to step in here. If you have teenage children, right now in 2019, then feel free to comment and give advice. If you don’t have children or have children that grew up many years ago please don’t make comments that make others feel bad. The OP was asking for help / a carrot, not a stick to hit them with. If your children are robots that just do what they are told think about their future too, and present for that matter.  Spare the rod ruin the child is a very old saying for a reason. 

This varies by ship and cabin location. Balcony cabins with the curtains left open will heat up with sun shining into them.  
I've had interior cabins that became very cold.  So cold I woke up in the middle of the night and had to turn up the thermostat.  I've also had rooms where I left the thermostat at the coldest position and it remained there the whole time.  Most of the time I find a daytime position and a slightly colder nighttime position since I like a cooler (but not freezing) room at night.
On some ships cabins are serviced in groups.  If one cabin leaves their balcony open it can reduce cooling for that group of cabins.  

I've always been able to make cabins TOO cold at night (and I sleep on top of the sleeping bag when I camp and the overnight temperature is in the 50s

Exactly.  Most drinks are covered by DX.  Exception is wine where better wines have overages.  Sometimes I like a better wine with a good meal so I pay the overage and don't sweat it.  Sometimes I'm good with the included wines.  
Also special drinks like in a Coconut or souvenir cups are not included in DX.  Just ask for the same drink in a regular cup and it's covered.
