This was offered on my cruise on the serenade in Stockholm in July. I remember it was more expensive on that cruise, I want to say nearer $40 per person.
We didn't do this as wanted to see Stockholm and have lunch in the city. We just used a luggage store and went our own way.

Imagine my delight when I woke up this morning to this sight from my balcony!
Mr hayley_bopp says I'm more excited about this than going to Rome. I think he's right!

I hate the Royal app for that very reason.  On Symphony last week, it never did refresh itself.  I tried logging out/back in and I even deleted the app and re-installed it.  Nothing.  Very unreliable.  We just used it to show our set sail pass on the first day and to check our folio during the cruise.

Yes it's lovely. I lived in Leith about 10 minute walk away for years and visited a few times and always love it. It's interesting to see how the royal family holiday and I loved that they didn't really ever update the 1950s decor!!

I'm not in a cruise at the moment but this weekend I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland and today I've been to the Royal Yacht Britannia. I tried to convince my husband that buying it would be the ideal souvenir of our weekend but living in the land-locked midlands, we'd struggle to sail her home.
It was really interesting to see the workings and state apartments of this famous vessel. My husband and I found it particulary interesting how basic the royal accommodation is.
The cost is £16.50 per adult and includes an audio tour which was really well laid out. There was also opportunity to have afternoon tea in the room where royal cocktail parties were over held.
If anyone is ever on a cruise that stops in Edinburgh, I'd highly reccomend this attraction.

Tira04 got a reaction from mom2mybugs in Can ship exchange large Euros for smaller denominations?
    Hello
I live in the UK and regularly  travel to Europe.  I wouldn't worry about spending 100 euro notes. The only places that might give you a hard time is street vendors or smaller shops or if you're using it to purchase small items like bottled water. Paying for attractions or in restaurants will be fine.  I imagine they would change these on the ship but probably charge you for the service!

What ship are you on?   You said 4-day and Cozumel so I’m assuming you are sailing out of Tampa on Brilliance?  If so, it isn’t a gigantic ship, so the crowds won’t be as crazy as you may be imagining.   Also, try to dismiss the rare occurrence of of disaster from your head; the things you mention are EXTREMELY uncommon.  Like, win-the-lottery, struck-by-lightening uncommon.
I know it doesn’t do any good to tell someone suffering with anxiety to relax, so I won’t even go there, but let me assure you that there will be PLENTY of places for you to relax, almost by yourself if you’d like.  Except for sea days right around the pool, there are often quiet open spots on upper decks.   Find a bench or seat, take a book if you’d like,  time can go by without you realizing it because you are so relaxed.  Turn your chair to the sea and watch the water go by.  Seriously, there is nothing more relaxing and you will forget there are people there.  I can also say with experience that your self-consciousness, while understandable, is unnecessary.  I can’t even explain how much your fellow passengers couldn’t care less about what you look like at the pool. They don’t notice you, and they don’t care.  Let yourself go, have a great time.

The game shows take about 30-45 minutes.  Almost NOTHING on a cruise takes an hour or more.  They are intentionally scheduling things so they are quick and move on to the next.  I encourage you to do them; they are lots of fun.   If you are on a ship with an X vs. Y game and a Crazy Quest, you may want to avoid them because your anxiety may be overwhelming.  They are a ton of hilarious fun, but they are often frantic and very adult.  The pace and craziness might be too much for you to enjoy.   If you’d like more detail, feel free to message me and I’d be happy to go into more explanation.
Please let yourself enjoy your trip!

I've booked back to back RC shore excursions for St. Petersburg. Our first excursion should return to the ship at 11:45 with the second meeting at 1:30pm. I'm just wondering if the first is late will we miss the second? Or would they wait? Has anyone else done a back to back excursion day?

We'll be limited to what our airline allows.for our next cruise out or Stockholm. So we'll manage with two large suitcases and two backpacks. To be honest, we're both fine with wearing things more than once and aren't too worried about getting very dressed up on formal nights so it will be plenty for us.

I realize this is a very random question but I am curious. We have the Deluxe beverage package on the Freedom of the Seas at the end of the month. I saw on a menu at Cafe Promenade that they have Chai Lattes. Are these covered on the package?  ? Thanks

Tira04 reacted to CruiseALot in Ok, but what about Formal Nights on the Serenade on a Baltic itinerary?
Back from the Serenade.  I can confirm that a long sleeve buttoned shirt, with or without a tie, was quite acceptable on formal night.  I wore a tie and buttoned long sleeve.
I looked high and low for tuxedos.  I did find one- but it was a display tux by the shops, haha.  I didn't see anyone wear tuxes on the 1st formal night.  On the 2nd, I did see one in the MDR, and another one in the Windjammer.  Maybe it was the same gentleman?  I went to Anytime dining, if that makes any difference.
Thanks to everyone for their tips and advice.  Exactly accurate!   As mentioned previously, we haven't sailed on RCCI in years.  But we were quite pleased with what we saw and experienced.  We have another RCCI cruise confirmed already.

Depending on how early we board, I like to grab a coffee and tour the ship! Then grab lunch at either at WJ or park café.
Once cabins are ready, I like to unpack and settle in to the vacation! Then off to the pool deck for a drink and sail away!!
Man, I'm sailing on Serenade in about 25 days and this is just getting me more excited! ?

We've done both. Depends on how we're feeling too. Like being served sometimes, like the multiple offerings of the buffet. Some complain about how long it takes in MDR, but we get a table for 2 so we don't have to wait for others to arrive or finish their courses. We've done MDR in 30 minutes. We've also done formal night in Windjammer.  Full on formal gown and tux. Definitely got some looks that night but the staff, especially the officers, seemed appreciative that we ate with them. Visited our table a little more than any other time we ate there.

We like meeting people but until this last cruise on majesty (where the specialty is very limited) we found that we were often eating alone because the other 6 or 8 people were at specialty or windjammer that night!
We went back and forth on Europe but finally decided to do my time.  We think we will just be too tired some of the nights, and we are doing 5 nights (of 12) either at specialty or chefs table, which I don't think is fair to the mdr table.
I think, like @twangster, cruise to cruise I tend to vary it!  Just depends on the cruise and my mood.  Jane
