Porter at the end worth every penny.  Through Customs in no time.
Had a female porter in Ft. Lauderdale years ago.  She was "6 foot four and full of muscles."  Some guy tried to jump the line in front of us at the Customs line.  She asked him nicely to move to the back of the line.  He refused.  She said "I will knock you out."  He moved.  My money was on her for the KO.

You can go through Royal and they will provide an officer and venue for the renewal ceremony.  All this costs a pretty penny.
We renewed on Radiance during an Alaskan cruise in 2017.  Royal did a great job.

A couple came right after us who had not used Royal but used their own official and our venue and decorations for a short ceremony.  Lucky for them.  You could do the same without going through Royal.

You're talking to a guy who starts his search for a cruise with "Is the royal available" and then decides if he's willing to work down the category list or just change the date.   We all have our vices.

For me, 4 free drinks a day would easily make the drink package not make sense.  I suspect there will be a lot less packages sold to Diamond and above.

I can see myself bouncing off that pole in the middle of the night on a potty break.  Maybe it's for pole dancing.

wstephensi got a reaction from Jill in Alaska land tour: through RC or on your own?
As stated above you do get double points for all days of the cruise tour.  There was no upgrade in room or travel for the land tour portion.
If you have not been to Alaska before or to the areas of the land tour,  I would recommend the RCL Land Tour.  I felt that we got our money's worth on all portions of the land tour.
When we go back to Alaska for another cruise, we will plan our own land tour with a trip above the Arctic Circle, more time in Denali and Anchorage and take the train all the way down from Fairbanks to Seward.

One of my favorite activities leading up to a cruise has always been watching the webcams, like https://www.portmiamiwebcam.com/.  I enjoy watching the ships ? come in and seeing all the traffic at the port as passengers debark and the new ones arrive to board.  Watching the ships sail out of port with people waving and holding up signs and displaying their tropical drinks ? always helps pump up my excitement. I think my family tires of it, though, as I tend to start six months or more before the cruise. ?
These days watching the ships leaving with no passengers on balconies, no music drifting in from the upper decks, no sign of life, really, is heartbreaking.  I'm glad we're finally seeing a bright spot in the future for sailing and I'm very much looking forward to our Southern Caribbean cruise in October.

We always park on site.  Very convenient.  Drive up, drop luggage with porter and park.  When leaving, grap porter, he carries luggage to car, load and away we drive.
It does add to the expense, but it keeps everyone's stress level low and gets us on the road home very quickly.

    Yes!
You reduce the risk of static discharge by one of two methods.  First you can allow the winch cable to touch the pad/ground before a person touches it.  Second you can use an insulated grounding rod or hook to touch/hook the cable before a person touches the cable.

I always park on property because off property doesn't save that much money, and I absolutely hate the tram service they provide.  Specifically, they are not run enough and I have no interest in waiting in a line for a bus.

It has been almost a year without cruising.  I expect considerable mass retraining is in order for new and old crew on both old and new SOP's as well as the ships to be used at the re-start.
Under normal operations ships of all kinds are in near continuous operation.  Crew members are trained OJT as crew members that leave service are replaced.   Prior to restart the whole service side of the cruise industry must be trained and retrained.  I can see this taking a month or more on land and then time at sea and then CDC fake cruises and then re-start.
Don't forget quarantine for two weeks and 3 weeks between vaccinations.
If July/August is the goal to re-start, I think late April may not be too soon.

Hoping to get two cruises in at double points to get me to D+.  I need 47 seven points.  One 7 night and 5 night cruise in a JS and BINGO.  That's the plan if CDC, Corona and RCL will all cooperate.

Done two connecting Balconies several times with kids.  Very nice and less expensive than your suggested options.
Also you could look for a JS with connecting Balcony.  Done that twice.  Very nice.
