I commented on @Lovetocruise2002 current blog last night and @WAAAYTOOO inquired about our newly opened restaurant. We opened, after 21 exhausting months of dealing with various government agencies, on December 13!  We are receiving overwhelming support from our community. If I do say so myself, our casual little eatery is turning out some amazing food!  Our website is still under construction.  We do have an IG account but I’ll have to ask my daughter what it is😂. Sabrina, forgive this breach of blog etiquette but…
…I have to ask @Rags1 ….how are things with the restaurant ?  I was thinking about you guys over the past week with all the Holiday Star Class blogs going…

Checked the blogs tonight for the first time in quite awhile and here you are!  Sending good thoughts and prayers to your dad and your entire family. I’m so happy you made it!  I’m looking forward to keeping up in the next few days. We opened the restaurant on December 13th and haven’t had time to go to the bathroom, let alone read my favorite blog site!  Enjoy every minute my friend!

Yes. Years ago, I cannot even remember how long, when we first sailed out of PE, we debated between Carlos and Pepe and La Bamba. The latter won because the former looked a bit like a dive.
There are several things that we love about La Bamba. These are things that no other La Bamba substitute can do better:
- Fried ice Cream…they use cornflakes and that is perfect amount of crunchiness. 
- They use a delicious marinade on their fajitas. Hubby has tried fajitas in so many other places and no other place has the same full flavour. 
- The Queso (Cheese dip). Again, we have tried this in all sorts of places and theirs is the perfect flavour and texture.

I am writing this blog with a heavy heart. Even as I write this, I am not sure if this sailing will be a go for us or not. I even contemplated not blogging, because I was not sure if I had it in me at this moment. However, blogging makes me happy, and these blogs remain a great way to record our memories, and that is what these trips are all about. Making memories with the ones we love.
About 3 weeks ago, our lives were unexpectedly turned upside down. My Dad is going through a major health crisis that took us completely by surprise. If you asked me 3 weeks ago if I was going on this sailing, I would have probably said no. However, as awful as the situation is, our health care system in Ontario has not totally failed us, and my Dad has received treatment, and is stable for the time being.
I have long supported the whole “YOLO Book It” mentality, the pandemic fueled it. However, with the events that have transpired over the last few weeks, it has only strengthened our resolve to seize each moment, to not let a single opportunity pass us by, to truly live, and have no regrets, and to take every moment to enjoy each other because life is so fragile.
We have no idea what 2024 is going to hold for our family. But one thing is certain, we take heart in knowing that God is working for our good in the midst of all of this, and there is always joy come morning.

Agree. My first honeymoon cruise on the Mayflower was very memorable!
 
I agree.  But now at 72, and after 14 months of physically doing the work to remodel the restaurant, I’m feeling a tad beat up and old😂

….sending clothes to your mother so she can pack for him ?  Say WHAT ?  …and didn’t you say that he and your mother have never even met ?  …and he expects her to pack his underwear and sh*t ?

I'm on Allure now and I'll tell you this about check in:  We arrived at around 1015. Genie escorted us on board. There were literally hundreds of folks already on the ship!  They turn and burn in Galveston!

Today's "snacks." Yes, that's right. After our chicken sandwiches and breakfast salad. And before dinner. 
Ethiopia is sending our room a Bat signal right about now. 

Pro tip: bring plenty of extra baggies, esp with limited late night feeding options. This delivery will go into baggies and into the cooler.

I don't think we're going to have a big dinner at 150CP, so these will come in handy if we get caught in another shot situation like we did last night ....
Oh, i failed to mention the shots? Imagine that.
