It does up til your bid has been approved... but I don't want to cancel. I want a different room than the nightmare one they assigned...

In my past experience if it switches to showing one pending and the rest expired then it means you got it. I've seen this happen on 3 successful bids.

I have sailed a couple times under the new menu. One night we skipped out to do the Solarium Bistro but that was for a change of pace.  The food in mdr is just fine (no not 5 start but more than "adequate") and if you look hard enough you will find most of the classics available each night or at least most...

Royal Up regularly offer the opportunity to bid on categories that aren't currently available so they're ready to cash in on any last minute (up to and including day of) cancelations and no-shows.  That's why and how people get RUs accepted the day of their cruise, and sometimes even after they've already boarded!  In other words, seeing a category available for bid in Royal Up is in no away indicator that that class cabin is currently available.

From SeaTac to Pike use the light rail.  Taxi's and Ubers run the risk of traffic and are more expensive.
From Pike to Pier 91, Uber.  With luggage, you will need a mid-size Uber and it will cost a little more.  Think we paid $35.
At Pike, and surrounding area, if you walk down to the ocean front, next to the Ferris Wheel, there is a a really fun ride called Wings over Washington.  If you have been to Disney's California Adventure and ridden Soaring over California, its basically the same ride but Washington themed.  We really loved it.
Near Space Needle, first take the monorail its really neat.  Once there....you can get so much done in this ONE area.  Chihuly Garden, Space Needle, Museum of Pop (we really recommend!!!!)
Yeah, there are a TON of things to do, see, and eat in Seattle, but for one day plus half a day when you disembark, Pike Place Market and the Space Needle area is pretty much what you can, and should do.

My husband and I  have a 9:30 return flight also after our cruise .We have booked a room using DAYUSE.com for the day (8-6l at the Renaissance Hotel. Tour downtown during the day and take  a little nap before heading to the airport. Also use Port Valet a free luggage transfer service from ship to airport.

Our hotel was easily walkable to Pike Place Market. I believe the Uber was 50-75 from SeaTac. Since we only had one day, we did an early morning food tasting tour at the Market which was great. After, we headed to the Space Needle and bought a combo ticket which included Chihuly Garden and Glass for about $65. Chihuly Is right next to the Space Needle; highly recommend both. We opted for a hotel shuttle (35pp) to the port rather than ride share. We had a lot of bags so we wanted to get dropped off at the terminal. Also, maybe it has changed but we noticed all the taxis seemed to be small hybrids. Those were too small for our bags so another reason we chose the shuttle. We used a shuttle from port to SeaTac on departure (about 35pp again I believe).

To all who called it Pike's Place Market (or variations of that), it is not. It is Pike Place Market (no "S"). I live nearby. Here are some tips:
The market is a wonderful spot. The Aquarium is well done. The Seattle Wheel is also on the waterfront. Chihuly Glass in Seattle Center is worth a visit as is The Space Needle nearby. Also close to those is the Museum of Popular Culture. Food at Seattle Center may be found in the Armory. Pike place Market has many food places. The wait can be long at rush hours but if you eat a little earlier or later than Noon-1:30 the wait is a lot shorter. Anthony's at Pier 66 has two spots there (Pier 66). Great food and view. Great dining at Pier 57 where the Wheel is located. Elliot's Oyster House is the best waterfront restaurant (more than seafood but pricey). The Seattle Art Museum is worth a visit if art is your thing. Close to the Market on 1st Ave. At the North end of the waterfront is the outdoor sculpture garden. If you like cheese, visit Beechers in the Market. If you like coffee, one of the first Starbuck's is in the Market.
I cannot speak to taxis or Uber/Lyft since I do not use them. Hotels on the waterfront include a Marriott and The Edgewater (built over the water and where the Beatles stayed).
If you have more time, the Museum of Flight is worth a visit (close to SeaTac Airport) or the Boeing Company tour in Everett is worth a visit. Also in Everett is the home of Funko who makes all types of collectible figurines, such as bobbleheads. Also, worth a visit for longer stays is Snoqualmie Falls especially in the late spring (think early Alaska cruises) when the snow melt is in effect. The Lodge there has awesome food and views.
    Hope this helps.

I would say the customer service representative's definition of "modified" is something was visibly changed (a cabin reassignment, etc).  However, their computer software's definition of "modified" probably just means someone pressed "save" regardless of whether anything actually changed (and "save" might even happen auto-magically when someone opens and closes a reservation).  So they can both be right and the software is also probably just doing its job when it auto-magically cancels Royal Ups for reservations that have been "modified".  Of course, you HAVE asked for them to work on your reservation which is probably incompatible (from the software's perspective) with maintaining a Royal Up.  So I would recommend that you'll have to pick which path you want to continue.

I have no idea what is going on, but wanted to say that there are always cancelations last minute.  So hopefully you will be able to get your cabin changed.   Plus someone in a balcony may get their Royal Up and open up better balcony for you.  Hope things work out.

Interesting day.... Had some nasty little rep create a false invoice showing that I had booked the no view in question.  When I forwarded her invoice next to the real invoice from March her supervisor was not impressed. Seems she forgot to change booking date from today to the real date.😑
Made lots of inroads with a resolution supervisor working on a couple ways to fix. Will take some time to get things right. In the mean time Royal Up cancelled my bid "Because my reservation changed"????? (Might be something the girl did?). When asked what changed, they had no answer and bids were put back in place. They see their mistake and I'm waitlisted for agreed on unit category.  One of the things I need to keep doing is looking for any ocean view balconies to become available. They have no really quick way to notify you that one opened up.  I just missed one last night... Just gotta keep calling and checking the booking screen.
Made friends with a lovely gal from MEI. Too late in the game for them to help but she has earned a shot at doing future projects for me...

    We go Aug 28...
We were supposed to be 2D which is a double and no obstruction.
Instead we got 1 E quad full obstructed view.  #6664
Were next to the hump so cant see forward and heavy machinery blocks all view aft.

I was told by the rep that this one would be obstruction free GTY if I paid the higher figure that kept defaulting.  As for worst... This ones position really is without embellishing the single worst on the whole ship. Close to the hump so we cant look up the side of the ship. Below the water is blocked out by the life boat cradle. above and within reaching distance  is big machinery used to lower or lift the boat. The boat itself blocks view outward or upward. It's midship is two feet  from our balcony.  This is quantum as well... Booked and paid for last April...

At least from his room you can see something past the end of the life boat. Mine doesn't even have that much! Add in two crane arms within inches of the balcony itself and you can see why its so upsetting.  Like you I was quite clear "NO deck 6!!!! No obstructions!". This room is worse than obstructed! Letters all sent. Some responses coming through already. No rooms to swap out for at this time. They know they blew it on this one and they are all about switching my room if they can find one...  NOW lets hope someone cancels.
I'd hate to be on the wrong side of me. I simply do not lose when I'm in the right...

As someone who has been gold twice, platinum twice, and about to be Emerald for the second time because of C+A errors, I feel your pain.  The office you contacted  (Bayley) often gets stuff fixed that other reps simply don't have the skill set for...  I would have tried to call in as someone else but my baritone voice would be a dead give away  that I'm not my Fiancée's teen age daughter... 😄  Hope your issue gets sorted out. I'm on the sailing right after yours...

I ended up booking a car thru them as well, my husband wasn't comfortable with Turo. There will be 4 of us in a Kia but we will make the best of it! I just hope they don't give our car away before we get there. Our ship arrives later in the day and our pick up is 4pm.

We rented a car in Juneau last year so we could visit the glacier at our own pace. You will likely get a much older model car, but we highly recommend Juneau Car Rental

Add me to the group that was cancelled by M&M as well. This was MY must do for this trip and I'm bummed. I hope to get a car from Turo to make it up there. Didn't want to have to pay the extra money but this is a trip of a lifetime for us.

    What about bears? 😈
That and the city are requesting that we don't use the local bus as residents depend on it for getting to work and tourists would overload the system.
