We did our first suite (Grand Suite on Harmony) recently.  We had originally booked a large balcony room.  We decided to upgrade to the GS and were very happy we did.  We do not do multiple cruises a year, so felt this was great for us.  We usually drink beer and wine and occasionally a blended drink, so the free drinks from the Suite Lounge were fine for us.  So we did not buy a drink package as we have on previous cruises.  The Coastal Kitchen, suite lounge, concierge and the Suite Deck were well worth the money for us.  Each person has to decide what works for them and what they are willing to pay for, but we loved it.

My travel agent passed away this past weekend. She has always taken care my family for the pass 8 to 10:years, especially on cruise ships. It’s almost like a death in the family especially when she lived in the same city and went to the same synagogue.
Life  goes on, but it’s a sad weekend.

Hello Fellow Cruise Lovers out there. My wife and I went on a vacation of a lifetime and got a spectacular rate on the Liberty of the Seas Royal Suite #1640. Since we were with a group of our friends, we decided to go all around the ship and in our cabin and shot a music video. I hope you enjoy.

If you have any questions about the experience or anything Royal Suite, I am happy to answer them. Cheers! YOLObookIT

Recently returned from the 9-night Harmony of the Seas sailing.  There were 8 of us, including 3 children ages 6, 8 and 9.  All 8 of us at there for dinner 6 of the nights onboard.  The food and waiters were great.  The children's menu is the same each night, but they were able to order off the adult menu also.  What was really awesome was that they also got them chicken strips, cheeseburgers and fries and mac and cheese, even though it was not on the menu.  The waiters were so sweet to our grandkids and brought them chocolate milk and "Shirley temple" drinks as soon as they sat down.  We (the grandparents) ate there every night and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.  As far as a dress code for dinner, men wore either slacks and a shirt or nice shorts and a polo shirt.  Women the same or a casual dress.  The 2 concierge, Mohamed and Elaine, were there during the dinner time to assist with questions or reservations.  The access to the Coastal Kitchen and suite lounge were the best part of staying in a suite along with the access to the suite sun deck.  Loved it!

I second having magnetic hooks and also suggest bringing a magnetic clip or two.  These are great for hanging my fold-out dopp kit, hats, sunglasses, etc...and we like to use the clip for hanging cruise compasses and any messages for our room steward.
We made the mistake of bringing a short (3 ft) extension cord -- not a power strip -- on our last cruise (Oasis).  I figured it would be OK to bring because it does not generate heat and appears similar, at least conceptually, to a USB hub with a built-in extension cord that also splits power from one outlet into several USB ports.   But I learned the hard way, through a trip to the naughty room on deck 2 to access my luggage, that any extension cord is prohibited.  Probably because it would enable you to draw a potentially unacceptable/unsafe(?) amount of power from one stateroom outlet.
Great question -- we tapped into the brain trust of these boards ahead of our last cruise which greatly enhanced our cruising experience.

I second this.   doesn't have to be a big expensive one.   something to cover you just "in case".  bandaids, tweezers, antiseptic, a few motrin a few ibuprofin,  maybe $7.00 at walgreens.    will not only save you money, but will save you TIME running around on the ship to buy this stuff.
we always take some downey wrinkle release spray for any wrinkled clothes.    works pretty good considering you cant have an iron or steamer
    travel sunscreen
ziplock bags. -  great for wet clothes or carrying snacks out to port
and it may seem like overkill but i always take copies of all health insurance stuff as well as a list of any meds with mg descriptions that my wife and I are taking.   i barely remember my own meds but have no clue what the mg's are and even more clueless on her stuff.       we had an instance on our first cruise where i had to go down to the sickbay and was glad i had that information.   made it much easier for the medical team to assist us.

As simple as it sounds, bring a HIGHLIGHTER. It comes in handy to mark the things you want to do/see in the Cruise Compass.

If there is something you like from the MDR menu ask your waiter if it's available and in most cases they will get it for you!  The Coastal Kitchen is somewhat flexible.

CK rotates through a 7 night menu on most standard cruises. After 7 nights, they cycle through it again.

We just returned from Harmony on 4/7/19.  We did not get the email from the concierge and it was 6 days before we left,  so I called RCCL and within a few hours I did get the email.  Mohamed apologized that it had not been sent yet.  I think ours was delayed because we were originally booked in a balcony room and a couple of months before the cruise we upgraded to a 1-bedroom Grand Suite.  I requested a standard cabana on Labadee Barefoot Beach and was able to get one.  I did notice that my email responses from Mohamed came later in the day.  After being on the ship I now understand that that is the main time they have to do this.   Mohamed and Elaine are both absolutely wonderful!!

We used the Luggage Valet for 8 people and 8 suitcases.  It was awesome.  We were in a Grand Suite so we did not have to pay the $25 fee.  We were on the Harmony and disembarked on Sunday 4/7/19.  We were on Delta and left FLL at 11:55.  When we got to the airport with just carryon backpacks and one small pull carryon, we would have gladly paid $50 or more each after seeing the check-in line in the Delta terminal 2.  We arrived about 9:00 am and the baggage check-in wound back and forth many times AND there was a line against the wall that went to the other end of the terminal and outside.  You had to get thru that line before even getting to the roped area.  I have no idea how long it would take to get thru that.  We had 3 grandchildren aged 9, 8 and 6 and I cannot imagine how impatient they would be standing in line for that long.  The security line at that time was not bad at all.  TSA precheck was about 5 minutes to get thru and the regular line took maybe 15 minutes.  We had a flight thru ATL and then on to our final destination.  No problem.  All bags arrived, but it was great to have the baggage notification on my Delta app.

We were in the Barefoot Beach suites area, so that is probably why we were not billed for the beers.
