  1. We do this regularly! Especially since it is (usually) cheaper, and nearly always empty ?
  2. In this case, your Set Sail pass works for purchases, either a hard copy or on the app (depending on the ship).
  3. I have seen this before when there was no Diamond lounge and thus no access to the little machine, so it would make sense.
  4. Hi @[email protected]! I have cruised quite a bit in Asia in the past few years. You're right to be confused about the offerings -- things change all the time here as Royal adapts to the growing market here. So you're looking at Quantum sailings from Singapore, correct? If so, yes, the ship is currently configured with Coastal Kitchen and sailing in a Junior Suite will get you the ability to make dinner reservations there. It would be handled like My Time Dining in the MDR -- you can book by stopping in at the restaurant or via the app for each night. Depending on the demographic of people in the suite, CK will actually be pretty empty and you won't have trouble getting in. The JS cabins are beautiful and prices tend to be cheaper in this region than elsewhere so it is a good time to try them out. I'm happy to answer any questions I can!
  5. I have sailed Radiance twice, the first time on essentially the same itinerary as you've got (mine was Hawaii to Ensenada). I love her! In fact, she's the reason I really fell in love with cruising for its own sake -- all those sea days at the end of that cruise. I thought for sure I'd get bored. Not a chance! Lots of things to do, and also lots of luxurious relaxation time! Before that I was completely about the ports and didn't care too much about the ship. I love the Viking Crown space, especially when the bar is closed and there's no one there -- a great place to read or chat. The ship is just such a nice size, too; easy to get on and off, rarely has to tender. Hawaii is a comfortable place to cruise as well, with a lot more variety of activities than you might expect. Enjoy!
  6. Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago, I randomly lucked into a two-device S&S package for about half the regular going rate. I have re-checked the order like 4 times just to be certain I didn't screw up! ? Pays to stalk the Cruise Planner, for sure!
  7. Not at all, I wouldn't think. Hidden Beach is much closer to Cozumel.
  8. Same as Travel Agent rates, but for employees of airlines, hotels, cruises, etc.
  9. It's probably because you told us all here about the great deal and we are all desperately checking on things -- slows the whole system down! Haha!
  10. No, "Travel Agent Rates" are the reduced rate trips that travel industry people can often get. Also known and Fam trips (familiarization). They are provided so that travel agents can speak about various lines and itineraries with first hand knowledge.
  11. I have had it take 24 hours for a new reservation to show up online. I know, super annoying when you're excited!! ?
  12. The cashier will give you the token and point out the specific machine you can use. I usually win a key chain or some such ?
  13. Here's an old thread with samples of the offers at various levels. They used to give you actual coupon hard copies in your room, now they're electronic. They change from time to time and/or ship to ship, but you get the idea!
  14. Please do! I'm interested in seeing one as well!
  15. Yes, you will still need to purchase internet. That is a perk only on the ships that have Royal Suite Class -- Allure, Harmony, Oasis, Symphony, Anthem, and Ovation.
  16. It has to do with the differences in law. I'm sure Royal would rather have just one policy. Maybe then their customer service reps could keep it all straight! ? But they have to accommodate the various quirks in all the countries.
  17. You did pretty well for a balcony cabin. The rock bottom prices that I see (except for trans-Atlantics and a few one-offs) tend to be just under $100USD/pp/pd (often for an inside cabin, though). So if you see that kind of rate, know that it's unlikely to be better. Personally, I use NextCruise onboard as much as I can, because the rates are good with the discount and you also get some onboard credit to help with expenses. Also, a travel agent can help a lot -- give them your available times and let them do the constant searching for a deal!
  18. Are you saying the 2K/pp was just for the cruise part, or for the whole two weeks? Because if it was for the whole time I'd say that's a pretty good deal. 14 days vacation that works out to just under 150/pp/pd. If it was just for the cruise, then I would recommend really looking at whether you got value from the drink package, since that would have been your single largest expense outside of the cruise fare itself. Also, try to book as far in advance as possible, in a shoulder season like October. That will usually bring the cruise fare down. Hope that helps!
  19. Yup. Happens regularly as demand fluctuates. That's why some of us check obsessively!
  20. Welcome to the boards! You’re going to get tons of suggestions! ? To help us steer you in the right direction, give us a little more about your style — are you looking for laid back or adventurous? Do you have a passport or would you rather travel on a birth certificate the first time? How long a vacation are you looking for? What part of Florida is better,or does it matter?
  21. Only if he’s not already booked on it too ?
