The family is grieving. Blaming the grandfather puts a lot of pressure on their support system; blaming a corporation allows them to bond together in grief against an outside entity. Also, if mom and dad blame the grandfather, they have to realize that they were the ones who asked him to watch her. I am not saying that this is right-I just think it explains why they are defending the grandfather. I will confess that I did not watch the video, but I have been of the opinion from the beginning that the cruise line is not at fault for the various reasons espoused in various posts here.

I sailed Harmony in August and got to the port at around 10 am; I was on board with my first drink in hand by 10:30. I was in a suite, so I boarded first, but there were no lines for check in, regardless of priority, when we got to the port. I do not think non-priority guests were far behind us in boarding. You may have to wait in the terminal for a few minutes after checking in, but boarding should go quickly.

I sailed in a grand suite in August and found that we easily got our money’s worth from the deluxe beverage package. We spent a lot of time on the suites sun deck and grabbing a drink from the lounge would have been a pain. Also we enjoyed trying the bars around the ship. Not to mention that we got a lot of bottled water to offset the alcohol. ?

TSA screens everyone. They will confiscate any liquids in carry on that exceed limits. To save weight in checked bags your best bet is to buy toiletries in Florida before boarding.

You will have a great time. Attitude is everything. My first flight was from NC to London when I was 21. I boarded the plane and realized that I would be on it for the next several hours, whether I loved it or hated it. I decided it would be better to love it and years later I continue to love to fly because the possible destinations are endless. I also enjoy cruises because it is the ultimate relaxing way to travel. I know you will have a fabulous trip.

One of my son's checked bags did not make it to his destination with him. Once the bag was delayed for 3 hours, he had a $100 credit to buy clothes to wear. Easy process-simply send in the receipts.

Another advantage to the Chase Sapphire is that it includes excellent travel insurance. In addition, the first $300 per year you spend on travel is reimbursed-which makes the actual fee only $150 because it is easy to spend $300 on travel in 12 months. You also get $100 credit for applying for global entry every 5 years. Thus, for the first year we had this card, our annual fee was effectively only $50.

Is Ovation still in the area?

I also recommend copies of your passports that you keep in a separate place-just in case.

I hope there is not a riot on the ship. Didn't you say earlier that this sailing is full of casino aficionados? I am glad that the person is able to get prompt medical attention. Hopefully that knowledge will quell the rioters!

Thank you for the pictures! I cannot wait until early March! On Harmony, I spent a lot of time on the suites sun deck, but since the bar there is now a smoking area (what WERE they thinking-or smoking?to make that area smoking), I will probably spent more time in the solarium. It is beautiful.

We also found the concierges to be very helpful once on board. They can resolve billing questions and also change show reservations if needed. Generally, Sky Class guests only need to reserve the comedy show. Once we boarded, we found we had a conflict with the time we had reserved. The concierge was able to change this for us.

Not sure about your daugthers' interests, but the Lagoon Pool is really fun. Just sitting on the beach is also great, if they enjoy that kind of thing.

Glad you had a great trip. Were you under the family villa suite? Heard complaints from someone in suite lounge about the loud families in that room.

I am not very picky, but I do not like the "all in one" shampoo and body wash provided in non-suite cabins. It is fine for body wash, but I bring my own shampoo and conditioner. I just pick up travel sizes in whatever is available.

Would love to see some pictures of the CK if anyone has a chance. I am concerned about the comments above. The suite lounge and CK were primary inducements for booking a suite. Both were wonderful on Harmony. I want to prepare myself for a let down if the one on Oasis is not as nice.

Not trying to start an argument and geography may mean this idea doesn’t make but it is possible that cancelling San Juan stops will allow RC to funnel more traffic to Perfect Day. This could be an added incentive

The beverage package for one cruise fell from $48 to $45 pp/pd. I cancelled but when I tried to rebook, i got an error message saying that i could only book the package once per cruise online. I called and customer service was able to book it for me. The phone call was surprisingly quick and easy. The representative said that this is not a change in policy-she thinks it was a computer issue-just image that with Royal's IT?
