  1. I'm as Respiraory Therapist in Montreal Canada. For us as of now unvaccinated healthcare workers have to get tested 3 times a week or be relocated ( if possible) and if not possible home without pay. Maybe multiple tests for unvaccinated guests may be a wya to go. To keep on top of it? I believe the most important thing in this whole situation is that cruises need to do everything in their power to make at least the first while of cruising resume WITHOUT a major hitch. Worst thing possible would be to start up amd get pulled again because it blew up in their face. So maybe strict protocols for first bit to save cruising as a whole??
  2. will they be marking unvaccinated adults to be able to tell if they are complying?? or will it be honor system?
  3. For anyone on these sailings with kids Id love to know if they allow them to remove their masks for pictures at least!
  4. Interested to see how these rules change leaving from US. And how they change over time. On symphony end Nov and I know my 6 year old will understand she needs a mask inside ( wears one at school) but feel bad she will be the only one in our party wearing one. ( and deep down I dont want to wear it myself in solidarity! ?)
  5. We will all be watching what happens after freedom does its test cruise and to see how long it takes after to get it going. That will be an indicator for other ships hopefully being the same or less time frame.
  6. So only symphony 2022 sailings? My nov 27th is still the old sadly.
  7. Hands down vote for 150 CP. Phenomenal!
  8. Remember when we discussed showing up at the port at 10 am regardless of booked arrival time...craziness!
  9. I've been told to do both. Some say pay for an adult and get reimbursed, others say to pay adults and let them charge you the 10$. ( even heard often they don't charge for the kids meal even). And my cruise planner did not give me the child's option. Not sure what is best. When we cruised with her at age 4 we didn't book her anything and they added her to all reservations.
  10. Always enjoyed the talks about specialty dining when people want to confirm they can dine at 2 places in the same evening! Ha
  11. With all cruise talk being depressingly about vaccinations, health measures and when they will sail let have a fun thread on what we WISH we were talking about! Back when cruising was about drink packages and chair hogs! Let's have fun!
  12. Does a test cruise mean for sure they aren't going to be using the 95% vaxxed module?
  13. Question of kids masking up is my biggest concern as well... I'd love to know what % of guests are usually below 12, if a 95% would ever be closely attainable.
  14. What I'm anxiously waiting to hear is what the plans are for the below 12s that CANT be vaccinated...will they make them mask up?? Interested to see how that plays out.
  15. Exactly! I have the same. But quebec started giving a QR code although not sure how they plan to use it yet.
  16. I wonder what they will do for us Canadians. My husband and I were some of first to get the vaccine ( healthcare workers) and was kind new and we didn't get a paper. But our gouvernemnt gave us a way to get a paper saying we received the vaccine. This is not the " original paper " RC keeps referring to.
  17. Although all people will never agree when it comes to this topic ( vaccine and cruises etc), I think we can all agree that all these new protocols and updates are a step in the right direction to getting ships out on the water again...
  18. So a family with vaccinated parents and their kids go to Walmart. Parents can be unmaked but 7 year old for example is masked due to no vaccine? Hmm.. thanks for responding!
  19. As a Canadian with strict mask rules and hopeful we jump on board soon, id like to know what the rules are for kids in these states. Since kids aren't offered the vaccine yet are they making them mask up? Thanks for the info guys!
  20. Reality is cruising needs to be able to start to prove that any of their protocols work. And I think for that to happen to have to at least start with full vaccinated cruises. In my eyes its the only way to get started and we desperately need a few cruises to start and go well.
  21. Very pro vaccinated cruises! As for masks, can survive walking around / to dinner. But I will not wear one in the pool deck watching my daughter swim etc. Just doesn't seem like something I would enjoy and especially not something I want to pay $$$$ to do.
  22. I'm interested to see what health policies / procedures they will do on a fully vaccinated ship...
  23. This study showing its looking like it cuts transmission as well! https://www.theglobeandmail.com/world/article-pfizer-biontechs-covid-19-vaccine-reduces-transmission-after-one-dose/
  24. I have wondered this as well. I have a 5 year old and this will crush me immensely. But my thought on it is IF they do this, they will have to completely reimburse people and not offer FCC. They are the ones telling you that you can't go. At least I know I would be demanding it.
  25. And as kids aren't able to be vaccinated does that mean no family cruises? I feel like if royal and carnival etc make vaccination requirements, they would have to make exceptions for kids. Or offer full refunds instead of FCC. I know if I am told my daughter can't sail I will not accept FCC. All of this being hypothetical of course.
