  1. can't disagree with that either
  2. I wish they'd just ban it all together. Nothing I cant stand more than smelling smoke on the pool deck.
  3. This is from Carnivals website. Looks like they are extending cancellations on select ships/ports probably to decrease cost for the remainder of the year as they recover financially. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we regret to inform our guests that Carnival Cruise Line is having to cancel the following sailings: All ships sailing between March 14 and May 11 All Alaska sailings through and including June 30, 2020 All San Francisco sailings through 2020 All Carnival Radiance sailings through and including November 1, 2020 All Carnival Legend sailings through and including October 30, 2020
  4. Pre-dinner cocktails at the Champagne bar (sad its gone off Oasis), sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning, hitting Sorentos 10-12x per day for a slice, basically everything!
  5. i do remember finding it odd I did not see it offered on my last cruise. I assumed it was because I used a TA that had purchased a specific block of rooms. There was a 3 night package but the UDP was not available. it is already on my planner for my Dec 2020 Oasis sailing
  6. I've been watching the prices lately. For a 7 day doesn't appear to go below the $179pp we have never done the UDP but were planning to on our next Oasis cruise. I'd love to hear what peoples experience was? Worth it? Ease of getting reservations?
  7. i had new mattresses on my last OASIS cruise but agree with WAAAYTOOO that its a crap shoot. Good thing is I am usually so tired its not a problem ?
  8. unfortunately as NY/NJ will probably not be hotspots in May (I work in a hospital in upstate NY) other places in the country will likely be and I don't see the cruise industry back operating just yet. I can't see it happening until Mid Summer, hopefully I am wrong.
  9. We have been to Labadee twice and absolutely love it. Its one of our favorite stops. We are beach people. The water is warm and clear, its always easy to find a chair. The only upgrade I can think of is food.
  10. The MDR can be a lot of fun if you have a larger party ( 2 families). When by ourselves (family of 4) we like to hit the specialty restaurants.
  11. Oasis of the Seas in 2017. Eastern Caribbean itinerary. We had 12 people (all family) and just had a great time. Highlight was chartering a boat in St Thomas for the day, snorkeling with sea turtles and then lunch on St John. All cruises are awesome but this one was the best.
  12. already on the pool deck with an Ultimate Mai Tai!
  13. we did Dunn River falls privately and it was great. We hired a private driver who picked us up at the port, took us to the falls (before all the cruise ship guests arrived), and then to lunch at Scotchies which was awesome. I always do excursions privately to stay away from the crowds.
  14. we also stay at the Residence Inn. I've rented a car before (I believe its hertz that has a location in the parking lot of the Residence inn for easy drop off). Last time i Ubered from the Airport. Family of 4 in an Uber XL was $100. Very convenient.
  15. definitely buying once this hits bottom (which i think is when they start sailing again). It'll take a couple years to get back near $100 so don't put any cash in it you cant live without.
  16. there is no bad part of the ship. I've been in forward cabins, mid ship, aft, high, low, all ocean view balconies are great.
  17. Now that Oasis has been amplified there will be minor differences in Symphony, Harmony, and Oasis. Allure has not been amplified yet so no waterslides, abyss, sportsbar. Still a great ship though.
  18. i have a cruise booked on Oasis in December and can already buy the dining and drink packages. Log into the cruise planner everyday for a couple of weeks and see how the price fluctuates. You'll quickly see what the lowest price is going to be. Whether it says 50% off or 20% off onboard prices doesn't mean anything. just watch the per day price to get the best deal.
  19. as long as the booking is 1 adult and 1 child in each room (which I assume it is) and you check in that way the ship won't know or care who actually sleeps in the rooms. Head to guest services once on the ship to get extra keys for the rooms if needed.
  20. I work in the hospital industry and have been engulfed in coronavirus preparedness for the past 2 weeks. As long as you're healthy I personally would go. In the US alone this season the Flu has hospitalized 350,000 and is blamed for 20,000 deaths. The flu is much more prevalent than Coronavirus and no one is cancelling anything because of it.
  21. I've done this before. Guest services on the ship will give you extra key cards for your rooms.
  22. we love the key. If you are buying the internet anyways might as well get the key. The priority boarding, Chops Grille lunch on embarkation day, and priority disembarkation are worth the $. I have a teen who definitely gets the value out of the key times at the flowrider.
