Great, now all I can think about when needing laundry done on a ship is @twangster's patent pending Cram a Bag laundry service.  Now improved by the use of bots!

But seriously if you have items that could be ruined by improper handling, I highly recommend doing them in your sink.  The commercial grade washers and dryers onboard a ship might not be too careful with your easily ruined items.  You can also opt for dry cleaning as well if something could be ruined by washing or drying at the wrong speed.  So like delicate cold wash only (is the only thing I can think of that would have both speed and temp restrictions) I'd really do in your sink or have it dry cleaned.

Please allow me to ease your mind.  Labadee is beautiful, Nassau is beautiful.  There are wonderful activities to do in these locations.
I think a lot of the complaints may come from people who have been to these locations multiple times because especially Nassau is on a LOT of itineraries.  If you're a multiple time cruiser and Nassau appears for the 47th time on your itineraries, you may have a bit of destination lethargy.  And when this lethargy occurs, people get more critical of the location.
If its your 40th cruise, and you've been to Nassau your past 39 cruises, yah you'll probably make a ship day of your port day in Nassau.
But this is your FIRST!  Dont second guess yourself.  You're going to have an AMAZING time.  Its beautiful there.  Relish in your excitement.  Do all of your planning.  And dont second guess yourself again.  You've nothing to worry about.
No cruise ship pulls up into a port that's broken down with thieves and worse rubbing their hands together like evil villains just waiting to be delivered victims on a platter.
You're smart, you've done your research.  No need to second guess things just because of a few negative comments.  For a first timer or even 5th timer, Nassau is a wonderful beautiful place to explore.

@Matt really runs a class act here.  People here are wonderful and welcoming.  We dont care if there are 450 questions about the drinks package, or shore excursions or the Royal Up program.  We dont care if newbies to cruising ask what ships to avoid, or which ship is the "good one".  People here are so kind and opening.  I've never felt the need to go to the "other" place when all I need really is right here.

They serve Mimosa's, Bloody Mary's, and Bailey's with Coffee in the Windjammer for breakfast for those who want to start early.
    Ummmm...  that's what I heard.?

Oh wow, the wine list at Chops looks seriously legit!  I have a feeling I'm just going to camp out in Chops for my entire sailing.  And now I'm on a mission to try the lavender cocktail.  Not normally a fan of herbal tasting drinks but hey its a purple drink, I have to try it!

Yah I couldnt imagine going through 25 drinks in a day.  Even 25 sodas I dont think I could do.  Especially if the bars dont open until 11am, and go until 2am, that's 15 hours to put down 25 drinks.  I couldnt do it.

I was unsure of it at first too but it was great! Very slight hint of lavender. I’ll be back for more for sure ?

I like martinis and classic cocktail drinks with dinner.  Depending on the meal, I could have a cosmopolitan, an appletini, even a manhattan (a long lost art that not enough people appreciate) or something interesting from their custom martinis.  Otherwise its white wine
As for bar drinks on a mission, find your favourite bartender, and ask them to make you what THEY like to drink.  Its almost always good and boozy.  .Or after making friends with your friendly neighborhood bartender, ask them to make you something for you special.  Tell them what you like, and what you avoid.  I've had some amazing drinks that are totally new and unique and in my experience asking bartenders to do this for you, they really like doing it.  Most are making strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas all day, it lets them really use their bartending skills.  I know in my job I like actually using my job skills rather than the mundane.

Oh come on its not like we're going to recommend Mitch a sky loft suite with overflowing bottles of champagne, every package under the sun and all sea days taken up with gambling and spa days.

But seriously, a bottle of bubbly is always nice, maybe dinner at Chops, maybe a special excursion.  And plenty of relaxation.

Most ships do offer a by the glass Riesling in the MDR and most specialty restaurants (likely exception being something like Johnny Rockets)  I'm partial to Sauvignon Blanc and was delighted when I saw not one but 2 offerings.  One goes slightly over the cost of what's allowed in the deluxe beverage package but I'm more than willing to spend a little more to try something new.  Not to mention if I happen to love the wine, I can buy a bottle of it at a reduced price with the deluxe beverage package.
Also keep in mind that you can bring 2 bottles of wine onboard.  So if there's a particular Riesling that  you prefer, bring it in with your carryon luggage!  You can ask to be served that for dinner and they will store your wine for you.  A corkage fee MAY be imposed but if you're particular about your wine, its a small price to pay to have your preferred wine (imo)
Also tell your waiter, the maitre d, your room steward, anyone who may serve you more than once, that you're celebrating your 25th wedding anniversary!  That corkage fee may magically not appear on your bill, that 20 dollar glass of wine may magically become part of your deluxe beverage package.  You never know.  But it never hurts to say something.

I think a JS has the best of both worlds.  Sure you dont get the myriad of perks of a Sky class suite, but it doesnt pretend to be one.  Its an extra spacious balcony cabin.  Larger closet and bathroom, with those double points and priority embarkation alone for some is more than worth it.
And if the cost was a negligible difference between a balcony and a JS?  I'd book the JS in a heartbeat.  I need that bigger bathroom.  I'm a bigger disabled gal (who doesnt need a handicapped stateroom, I'd rather those go to those in wheelchairs, I'm fortunate enough to not be in one yet) and the smaller shower just is a bit of a tight fit and a dance with the curtain for me.
Plus I've always found JS to be a gateway to the larger suites.  Once you experience a JS, maybe your next cruise you may want to try to spring for a GS.  And before you know it you're yolobooking a sky loft suite! (ok maybe not that far but, ya never know!)

I checked the article that @ThyriC linked to and verified this wasn't answered, so will answer here -- You do pay the suite gratuity rate even though it's still "only" a Junior Suite.
My $0.02 -- a JS room isn't worth it unless you're on a Quantum class or Oasis class ship and can get the Sea Class perks; mainly Coastal Kitchen, which is almost like having a specialty dining restaurant every night; others here may disagree, but the filet mignon they serve on night 1 is better than the filet served at Chops! On other ships that don't have the Royal Suite program and Sea Class benefits, all you're really getting is a glorified balcony room that happens to get you double points with C&A.
