  1. I have a spreadsheet that I use to check for price drops so that I don't have to do an actual mock booking every time I check.
  2. The alerts I get only tell me if the price has dropped or raised since the last time they sent an alert. Never once, when they have sent a "price drop" alert, has the price dropped below what I've paid. Part of the problem may be that you can't set what you paid. You only choose a category type. Well there's several different categories of oceanview balconies - you can't choose "2D", just "oceanview balcony". Glad it's worked for you, but I've found it completely useless.
  3. I have used Cruiseline.com (aka Shipmate) but never once in a 18 months monitoring 6 sailings was it ever remotely accurate. I check what I paid against current prices on Royal Caribbean's site. Since I book through Royal it's the only price that is relevant to me.
  4. Plus.....elephants. It's difficult to beat elephants.
  5. I respectfully disagree. H1N1 was nothing like this. Ask any doctor, nurse, or respiratory therapist. in any hospital who is treating Covid-19 patients.
  6. They are separate. The form to use to apply for the 125% obc is in the cruise planner - when you choose your sailing as though you were going to go in and book something it's at the top.
  7. It was going to be our first B2B as well, but in reality, if they hadn't canceled we would have had to. Besides having high-risk conditions, I wouldn't want to use my PTO for the 14 day quarantine that I'd likely have to do before going back to work.
  8. I'm pretty sure I'll lose my January Empress sailing. I'm so afraid I'll never get to sail on her.
  9. Yeah, sorry ? I messaged them on Facebook about my May 9 refund (a good way to not sit on hold, btw) and that's what they told me.
  10. I was at Coco Cay when it wasn't windy, until it suddenly was and it took a while (and a flock of staff RUNNING to it) to help bring it down. Good times, good times.
  11. Most refunds from May seem to be taking 45 business days. So that doesn't count weekends or holidays. You're only at day 29 (unfortunately).
  12. When did you cancel the one that you just received your refund for? (ugh, awful grammar, but you know what I mean, lol)
  13. While it's not a mass-market cruise line and it doesn't stay out to sea for more than a few hours at a time, this may give some hints to how casinos might operate on the big guys when sailing resumes! Doug Parker, from Cruise Radio, took one for the team and went for a little sail to check it out. https://cruiseradio.net/florida-casino-ship-offers-preview-of-cruise-gambling/
  14. I canceled my cruise planner purchase on May 9 and they told me 45 business days, so I don't expect to see it until mid July.
  15. I'd love to cruise over Christmas! I'll have to wait until retirement, though - no way would I be able to get Christmas off from work. BUT, that's only 4 more years!!!
  16. @CynBeth welcome to the forums! I've only heard this when people use big consolidated TAs. For those of use who have used MEI Travel, they have saved us so much time and hassle. I'd never book a cruise again without using them. That being said, they typically don't deal with Cruise Planner items.
  17. I was very fortunate to get my premium from one canceled cruise transferred to its replacement sailing. But I was prepared for them to say no.
  18. You'd just have to keep checking back. There's never any saying when you'll get the best deal. If it's something you know you want to do, just book it and check back for price drops frequently. The best deals I've gotten on shore excursions have occurred when there weren't any advertised cruise planner sales going on - they just randomly dropped and I snagged them (at a price I never saw go that low again). It can really pay to check frequently.
  19. They are really hit and miss, though. I remember back when they first came out you could only see them using a certain browser (and I don't remember which browser it was). I tried to find them just now on Navigator, using 4 different browsers, and couldn't find one at all.
  20. Welcome to the forums, @MiguelB !
  21. If CLIA is like other trade associations, it's actually made up of members of the various cruise lines. So it would seem that the cruise lines compromised on this date themselves.
  22. If you're just repricing a cruise then your Cruise Planner purchases stay the same. You keep the same booking number. Your OBC would vary, depending on how you got it in the first place. If it was a perk of the original booking and the current promotions do not include OBC, then you would lose that. If you have OBC from a TA or a credit card reward, you would keep it. So when you look at prices and promotions for repricing, be sure you consider what promotions you received originally. (This is if you booked with an agent from the USA - I know repricing isn't an option if booked in the UK).
