  1. Thanks for this post, I didn't realize that the gratuity wasn't adding on the prepaid dining. I will make sure we carry tip money there with us.
  2. You are covered for coffee. None of the packages cover Starbucks. This is a coffee card for people who only want specialty coffee and don't have a package.
  3. Our June 19th Allure is down to $46. Hubby's April 7th Navigator is still $49. None of our other sailings are on sale.
  4. We are on this sailing also and got the $46 deal tonight. None of other 5 cruises my family has booked is any cheaper though. A recent Allure cruise the package went down to about $39 the week before. I don't think we will be that lucky.
  5. No once we made reservations for our group they were made for all of us and others did not to duplicate the reservation.
  6. Once the cruises are booked you can link your reservations in your cruise planner then make your reservations for dinner. I do not think you can split the group between regular dining times and MTD. If you all pick a set dining time and have the cabins linked you should be at the same table. If you pick MTD then after you link the cabins you can go on and make reservations for each evenings dinner and choose which guests to reserve for. If the kids want to just do the walk in then don't include them in the reservation with the understanding that they won't be able to join your group for dinner. Does that make sense?
  7. So I'm going to suggest you have them try to go their individual ways. My middle daughter is not one to put herself out there or reach out to make friends but she LOVED the teen club on the Navigator. She made so many friends and I never had to worry about her because she was in a group. I don't think they would let the 11 year old in the teen club. If the kids were outside of the teen club hanging out your 11 year old might be able to join them but the older kids might not be happy about that. I recommend you let them try to make friends in their own age group.
  8. We were very happy with this service. Paid in cash for each transfer. Howard 954-649-0099 <[email protected]
  9. All ships have drink package sales and the sales will vary. You need to keep an eye on your cruise planner and book when you see a price you like. If it goes cheaper you can cancel and buy at the cheaper price.
  10. There is a 5% fee to get cash from your sea card in the casino unless you've reached a certain level and I forget what that is but hubby is at it. I've heard the fee at the on board ATM is high.
  11. We buy our girls the ship ornament for each ship they travel on. Imagine their own first Christmas tree with ornaments from ships and places they've traveled.
  12. Our cruise is less than 4 months and the app is pretty much worthless. Day 5 is missing, nothing much is loaded.
  13. Hubby got an offer for a free balcony cabin on select cruises or $2,500 off any cruise. He was able to book a grand suite free using the $2,500 even though the cruise was one of the ones listed.
  14. I'm taking two of my girls on this cruise. See you there.
  15. How far out does activities, etc. start showing up in the app for your cruise?
  16. Typically with any port if you stay in the port/tourist area or go on an excursion either with the cruise line or a private guide you should not have an issue. We booked the sloth island tour which includes a beach stop and it was very inexpensive. We booked direct with Daniel Johnston and he is highly recommended on several cruise sites.
  17. Cozumel is very safe even safer than the mainland and we usually spend two weeks a year on the mainland. The biggest issue tourist face is scams and those seem to be in every port.
  18. Hubby and I are doing the Good Hope tour with lunch. We've been to Jamaica several times but never to a plantation. We've done Dunns River Falls and it really is a must do once. Hubby did it twice. Not really impressed with Mo Bay so I wouldn't book a tour going that direction.
  19. Yes and funny you should mention that. My youngest was trying to put a game on my computer today and it installed the Opera browser which I had never heard of. I uninstalled it.
  20. Thank you, she did the teen club on Navigator and loved it. Not sure how many teens will be on our Grandeur sailing as it is during the school year. We are also booked on the Empress which does not have a teen club but am hoping there will be activities for her.
  21. On the website it says they are all 2 hours but I've heard some are longer. I think everything varies by ship and yes what the demographics on the ship will support. Hubby did the Bottomless Brunch on the Allure which included a galley tour and loved it. So I booked it with my one daughter and brother on the Navigator. It was horrible and I mean horrible. The galley was empty and we saw no food prep. Then we couldn't get a beverage at the lunch. The menu was very limited and the appetizers they had on the table wasn't enough for half the people seated there. Then we waited half an hour to order our food and an hour for it to arrive. People were just getting up and leaving. We did complain on our comment cards but never heard back.
  22. Are there any organized teen activities on the Grandeur? I'm looking at old Compasses and don't see any.
  23. Anything that seems like it will lead to a sales pitch is a waste of time unless you are there for a coupon or discount on that service or product. These also include the shore talks so that the cruise ship can direct you to the shops that give them a kickback. I do go to the t-shirt sale to buy gifts for those left at home including our employees. Most of the "pitch" items have been mentioned above. Free tours are usually always a sales pitch.
  24. If you have more than one cruise booked check it on all the cruises. We are paying $49 on the Empress and it would be $69 on the Grandeur and $109 on the Allure. They all have the same description
