Yes, thanks. I booked the cruise last week. I didn't see it on the booking.

Edit: I found it! Thank you @Ampurp85!

Sales with Royal change every few days. Lately, they have been bouncing back and forth between the OBC offer and $600/$700 instant savings. For most of my sailings, it's pretty much a wash like what you have described for yours. However, with the 3 new ones I just booked Tuesday night, the net savings is lower with the OBC, not much, by about $100 on each reservation. I contemplated texting my TA to price adjust, but then I wondered to myself, what if I price adjusted, got the OBC, then used it for CP purchases, and then the price goes down somewhere down the road? I would need to price adjust again, I may lose the OBC with the price adjustment, but what happens if I spent it already? I figured that would not be worth the hassle, so I never texted my TA to price adjust on this one.

Thanks for following up on the boards. We considered doing this but never booked our son in his own cabin; we went the Crown Loft route instead. However, it never occurred to me that if they end up with their own room, and mom and dad are booked in their own room, the kiddo will get double points.
Our son is finishing his college freshman year, so these booking strategies don't matter anymore to us (maybe grandchildren in the future). Hubby and I went on our first empty nest cruise three weeks ago on Oasis. It was bitter-sweet. Time is a thief, parents. Take those kids with you when you can. In a blink, they will be gone.

I have never been a fan of the short cruises either, because I have to fly into all ports. However, this trend that Royal is starting is strangely coming at a good time for where we are at as a family.
I have a 4 nighter booked on Allure for NYE this coming December, a 4 nighter for UT for March 2025, a 4 nighter for NYE 2025 on UT, and a 4 nighter on WN for March 2026. Two of these sailings are definitely going to be without my oldest, and the other two are questionable. In the past, I would never have booked so many 4 nighters, but the thought of leaving a 18/19 year old at home alone for a shorter period of time, while still being able to get away a bit is appealing and works for us for this coming season of life. The only negative is that my climb up the C&A ladder is taking a bit of a hit.
Hopefully, in a few years, when I retire and we ditch the freeloaders, Royal will pick up more longer sailings again.
The other thought I had is that with our new family rule of flying in two days prior to cruise, even a 4 nighter becomes a 6 day vacation for us. For a Canadian, who desperately wants out of the cold, I cannot complain!

Don’t know if it’s still true, but back in the day, we’d refer to them as a “booze cruise.” Now it’s 7 nights or longer for us.

Despite that Royal insists they can't include Voom on the older ship full suites because they are so much cheaper.  🤷‍♂️

I am feeling that in waves right now....from my own kids, to the memories of time gone by with my own family (parents & sisters).
    sorry for the hijack

Yep- I don't have a bucket list, per say, but would like to see as many places as possible. If we lived near a port and could do some quick 2-3 day runs to coco cay here and there, I'd be all about it. But for a full week cruise from NJ or Miami, it's gotta be a combo of Ship AND destinations for us to make the money and time off from work or school worth it.

So, @Sea Squirrelwhere are you seeing these C&A DBP Diamond offers? Is it on the cruise planner? Just turned Diamond two weeks ago.

Conclusion arrived at - Interestingly, kids of any age, as Matt said, can have a connecting cabin, and get the extra points.
I have been told in future to check who's in what cabin on the booking, as whoever is on the single cabin at time of final payment will be the one gaining the double C&A points.
Annoyingly, our now 4 year old son has more C&A points than me now!
Thanks for the help on this one, appreciate the replies.

First, as someone who travels almost every week for work, I absolutely refuse to use the coffeemaker and glass glasses left in the room.  Both are notoriously disgusting.  That being said, honestly, these folks are so overworked and overwhelmed at times, rather than file a complaint, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt - Most likely English isn't their first language and they may well have not fully understood your request in writing (vs. verbally).  Approach them kindly and directly and express your concern.  I'd be willing to bet you'd have the cleanest cabin in your group going forward.

I don't mind the short Florida cruises for an occasional getaway but at premium rates it's a hard pass for me.
I have many bucket list destinations on my list.  When a short Florida cruise represents a sizeable chunk of a bucket list cruise I tend to save my money to apply towards my list.

It would if they were not removed between sailings. I don’t know if the cleaners overlooked the glasses or the attendant forgot the lids on fresh glasses.  These people are overworked.  If they had cases of known Noro in the cabins they service those cabins received extra cleaning attention/which must add to their already stressful prep of 25 cabins between sailings.  I prefer to err on the side of caution, however you can call it overreaction, I’m not offended.

No other issue but I know the ship is on heightened cleaning.  Seeing that the glasses had no covers made me suspect they were leftover.  On this particular ship I had a cabin with no toilet paper upon embarking (can you spare a square?) and no towels another time.  So it’s either new staff issues, lack of time issues or poor work.  Based on those things I felt the glasses had been overlooked and I was hoping for fresh glasses, as asked, but realize the “easy way” could be to just put caps so I marked the one glass where it’s not noticeable.

Purposefully soil them so your attendant knows that you are watching. For context, a conspicuous camera deters bad conduct more than a hidden camera.
