  1. I'd be good with that for many cruises. Port Canaveral instead of everything being from Port Everglades or Miami would save us 2.5 or 3 hours each way.
  2. Just completed our first Celebrity cruise. Fewer overall things to do, but what was available was consistently less crowded than typical on Royal. If two nights longer is only slightly more expensive, we'd be all over the 7 nights rather than 5 nights, especially if it means more time at sea.
  3. Happens all the time. Means absolutely nothing. As long as your status is correct on your account and therefore on your SeaPass, all will be well. On Celebrity Reflection last week, my status (Elite based on our Diamond + on Royal) was correct. My wife's showed "Preview" (and SHE'S the one who got us to D+). It was correct on the SeaPass, so again - all was well.
  4. Just back from Celebrity Reflection Bar service - almost non-existent unless you went up to the bar and spoke to the bartenders directly. Most frequent roving server location was Cafe al Bacio - a few cocktails available but mostly for your specialty coffee. MDR service - painfully slow. I think our waiter was overwhelmed by our group of 12, because a nearby waiter handled his 8-top and three 4-tops much better than our service. Finish off you glass of water? Good luck getting it refilled any time soon. Get close to the bottom of your wine glass? Sommelier Yarmi filled you right up in a heartbeat. Oceanview Cafe (buffet) service - I was NEVER offered coffee or a cold drink while seated. The only roving beverage service was bar service, and that was sporadic at best.
  5. Another reason to skip cruises that go to PDCC.
  6. We're boarding Reflection on Sunday. Look for a report on our service experience.
  7. IF and ONLY IF they actually have them. My wife passed 140 points on Mariner in June 2022. Followed up with phone calls and again when on Freedom in June 2023 (when she DID get her block for 210). Still no Mariner block from the 140 cruise.
  8. Your room steward has gone above and beyond, in that case.
  9. For me: 1 - schedule and itinerary. For example, a Saturday to Saturday might be better because you have a day to get back to your routine. Or a Sunday to Sunday might be better for you because of the travel day getting to the port a day early. 2 - price, since they're similar. If you like the itinerary and/or the timing better, a small increase in cost will be worth it.
  10. Your VPN is working if it makes sites think you're somewhere you're not.
  11. The advantage of reading this on a computer rather than on a phone is that the pop-up ads are a small portion of the bottom right corner of the screen. Although they are sometimes in the way of being able to click "submit reply."
  12. As noted by @twangster, if you're looking for different itineraries that should be the focus. We each have different likes and dislikes, so aside from particularly poor experiences that might be shared it is impossible to say which cruise lines (if any) will be better or worse for any given cruiser. I can name things that are advantages and disadvantages FOR ME about each line I've cruised (including Royal which is our favorite line to date).
  13. Other than getting a little closer to the next glass block, there's nothing lost by getting no points once you hit Pinnacle.
  14. That's only five months to expiration. Something for folks to keep an eye on.
  15. Two cruises >>>>> one cruise CLS (with benefits) > balcony
  16. You clearly meant CFP championship based on mentioning Monday. I was unduly excited to see someone mentioning the Football Championship Subdivision championship game, which took place on Sunday. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits defeated the Montana Grizzlies 23-3 in the final game of a TRUE playoff (every FCS conference is eligible to send their champion to the playoffs) to complete a 15-0 season.
  17. The only time and place you're guaranteed to find me on a consistent basis is at or near the front of the line waiting for WJ to open for breakfast. The first available real food in the morning happens far too late for this early riser.
  18. IF they feel the need to do it at all, it needs to be consistently on the last night. Then those of use who choose to partake in MDR for dinner can just opt out on that night. Doing it any other night is just ridiculous and doing it twice would definitely lead me to drop my rating of dining room service at least 3 points lower than it otherwise earned (and the reason will be indicated in my comments). That's right - if you do the stupid song and dance appreciation thing twice, your whole rating goes in the toilet, no matter how great the service was otherwise. I know some of you will want to tell me "don't penalize the crew members by lowering the rating," but if a message needs to be sent it will be sent.
  19. Initially, you'll be on the Patapsco River leaving Baltimore and neither side is "better" than the other unless a view of Fort McHenry is important to you (in which case you'll want to be on the port side). Once you get out into the Chesapeake, the ship channel is roughly the mid-point of the bay and the views in either direction are similar. Far better during sail away from Baltimore is to be up on deck when your ship passes under the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
  20. The other option is to log on to delta.com and enter your name and confirmation number. No need to click any links in the email if you are concerned.
