  1. We who appreciate a good single malt are an elite few. The rest of you need your olfactory paradigm reset.
  2. If you have both Suite Lounge and Diamond or above vouchers, plan your voucher usage for the rest of the day. And don't forget to get bottles of water from the Suite Lounge, even if you're not otherwise particularly interested in the happy hour.
  3. We had #4 on an Alaska cruise once. Everything was deserted and we had the run of whatever area we wanted. Even saw some older kids in the Solarium pool while it was crashing back and forth. Looked like they were having a blast and it was fun to watch them (yes, their parents were there).
  4. If you want to purchase a ticket to sporting events on the secondary market, all of the resale sites have this feature - right down to the individual seat price in some cases.
  5. If a glass of wine is $15, get the bottle!
  6. Competent IT department (but that is clearly a pipe dream).
  7. Even though we have specific places in Victoria that we will visit if that's a stop, we would be quite happy to have the itinerary for May change to include Sitka. Fun fact - my parents are major benefactors of the Raptor Center and the endowment fund was recently renamed in honor of my dad after he passed in February and included that fund in his estate plan.
  8. Every time you moved your arms to applaud the Sox counted as a step. Given how bad the Orioles were this season, that alone could have accounted for several miles per game.
  9. Other than the ability to open up the balconies and have a larger space to share, there's no reason to book the side-by-side rooms if it costs more - you can take turns visiting each other's balcony - it's always possible that one or the other will be a better location for avoiding sun directly in your eyes in the evening.
  10. There may or may not be an announced "sale," but prices will get both better and worse between now and then. You're close enough to sail date that you should be checking the prices every day (at a minimum).
  11. How long does it take to get from the boarding point to the Windjammer (with a stop at a bar on the way)?
  12. Pros - usually slightly larger than other balconies in same class, GREAT view (and very relaxing while under way), limited "traffic" passing your stateroom in the hallway Cons - have never experienced any
  13. One thing to check - when we crossed over to Diamond between two cruises, a sticker was affixed to our second SeaPass indicating we were Diamond but the SeaPass was not activated to allow 24 hour access to the Diamond Lounge.
  14. Typically this is the case, but not always. We've had a couple times that our FIRST bags were delivered while we were at dinner and once where our final checked bag arrived at the stateroom as we were getting in for the night (after a post-midnight stop at Sorrento's).
  15. There is no "want a confirmation" about this. All of the fields are mandatory and it clearly states "A confirmation email will be sent once your order is processed." The reality is that a confirmation is often NOT sent to the provided email address. The last confirmation we got went to the email address associated with the RC account accessed and NOT to the email address entered on this form.
  16. Recent bookings of excursions, cancellations, and re-bookings - should have received a total of nine emails - got exactly one of them.
  17. Just checked to see what they had to offer on cruises we have booked. They have an incorrect itinerary for Ovation on May 20, 2022 so use caution.
  18. The workings of AI are getting better and better all the time as evidenced by the twangbot.
  19. We have never previously done anything but selecting our own stateroom. Sometimes we are travelling with the whole extended family and want a 2BR suite. Other times the itinerary makes it worth (to us) the extra cost to get an aft-facing balcony or JS. We just booked a JS GTY for an Alaska trip on Ovation. There were no JS available with the "select your stateroom" option on a date we specifically wanted to travel (joining a group already going on that trip).
  20. We were in Alaska in July 2012 - I wore shorts most of the trip except at dinner in the MDR. Most of the passengers looked more like what you describe.
  21. Ovation OTS - May 20 - Alaska Glacier Cruise from Seattle Joining some friends on a group cruise with a local organization - BUT - we're paying less for a JS GTY booked ourselves than the group rate for an interior cabin.
  22. Most on these boards would tell you to book what you want if you see a price that you consider acceptable. Then keep checking the price and if it drops, cancel what you have and rebook at the lower price.
  23. Scenario 4 - bring two bottles at boarding AND purchase a bottle or three from Vintages.
