We do have the same cabin, so that's not a problem.  Royal Up was tempting, but didn't want to go through the hassle of changing cabins - main reason we're doin this is to get to do all that Oasis has to offer, and not worry about missing stuff or overscheduling my days. Hope everything goes smoothly!!

It actually depends on if you do it in the website or the app. App, they want a selfie, web you upload. Passport - web you put in the exact name, number & exp date, app you take a picture. Also, if you are a midnight check in person, on the app you can just pick a boarding time and go back later to do the rest. You can also edit info up to 3 days prior to your cruise

Glad you asked - I have one for our Nassau day (getting of the ship at PC, PDCC & Labadee) & was thinking of trying to pick mine on day 1 after boarding, but if they say no, then I'll try day 2 at 9am

Doing one soon on Oasis - getting on the first one Friday (!), so will have first hand knowledge (for Bayonne, anyway). We have the UDP for the 2nd cruise, so we plan on taking advantage by 1) getting our reservations in ASAP, and 2, either doing a specialty lunch if available, or portside bbq if they will be open that early.

You’ll get used to it. You just scroll through the daily planner section each time and everything will be posted on chronological order.
If you want to see the digital version of the traditional compass, you can try this link once onboard (it worked as of last month)…
    https://minio.rccl.com/compass/cruisecompass.pdf
You’ll have to zoom in but it might be of use.

I'm glad you said that, we have the 5pm traditional dining and my wife swears if we "just ask on night one" that we'd be able to change a night or two to MTD if we tell them we might not make 5pm. I tried to explain I don't think they let you just show up for MTD if you have a traditional set time already. So I actually already made reservations for Solarium on the one night she figures we will be late, because I figured we wouldn't be able to her plan. Now I'll look like a genius because I had the back up plan already in place! lol

DH is afraid we won't get our money's worth for this reason - for me, not for himself!  I definitely cannot eat like I used to - combination of age and my diabetes medication - good, because it's helped me lose a lot of weight, but I figure I will just really eat what looks good - 150 CP looks so good, I want to do it at least twice, possibly 3 times on our 7 day, and I know I won't be able to have more than 1 entree, if I even manage to have that.  Hibachi one night, Chops for lunch maybe instead of dinner, Giovanni's for dinner, and possibly Izumi one night or lunch - DH not a sushi fan, but the ala carte menu has other things he will eat.

On a sold out sailing on Allure in April, we were able to book a lunch at Giovanni's on embarkation day, for embarkation day. We boarded at 11am, booked the lunch at the reservation station in the Promenade, and ate lunch there at 12:30pm.

Need, no. Hubby keeps his seapass in his pocket. Now, there are some very pretty ones available. I have several that I wear depending on my day. I have a casual plain black one for knocking around during the day or at the pool. I have four very pretty jeweled types that I wear in the evening to dress up my outfit for the evening. They are easy to pack and I don't have to bother with necklaces in my limited luggage tangling etc. They add an inexpensive "pop" and with my attached Vera Bradly pouch I can also bring extra money for tips, a few tissues and sometime even a small lipstick. I LOVE my lanyards, strange I know!

MaryCS62 got a reaction from Donnax4 in Freestyle Coke Machine
just an FYI - on Anthem, there were 2 machines side by side in Sorrento's.  1 had a plain water option, 1 did not.  I used to use the water option to rinse out the cup between flavors.  I also think (not positive) that you can use plain cups for just ice or water at those machines, but can't swear to it

MaryCS62 got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in New MDR dining times?
So, in my FB sailing groups for my Oasis Aug cruises, someone posted that if you try to book a new cruise for this summer, traditional dining times are now 5 & 730pm. I then did a mock booking and that is what I saw as well. Anyone else seen/heard this officially?

MaryCS62 got a reaction from RCShawn in Seattle Pier 91- Ovation of the Seas Sept 1st - Power scooter question
There is usually wheelchair assistance at the pier (have only used it at Bayonne, so can't speak to anywhere else), but they usually only bring you onto the ship and leave you there. Depending on what time you board, your room might not even be available, so you wouldn't be able to fetch the scooter right away. Also, they won't let you keep the chair because they need it for other passengers. We used this service in March on Anthem. DH and I (I can walk, just bad knees so don't like to walk too far), got something to eat and just hung out til they announced the cabins were available. Then he went to our cabin and rode the scooter back to me. If that's not an option for your mother, I would suggest you use the company that has pier side delivery

The menus I've seen show either ala carte items, or for a set price ($39.99 is the price I've seen) you get 1 small plate, 2 large plates, and 1 dessert

The cup also has a hidden bonus I found a couple cruises ago. I went down to the machine pretty late at night to grab us some refills. It was surrounded by intoxicated people trying to get drinks with every random type of cup imaginable with the expected result. I waited my time, walked up, and got our refills with no issue. I turned around and noticed that I was being looked at like I was some wizard or magician. I explained the situation to those who asked but many were determined that the cup in their hand was going to work.

I am glad that you had some good experiences alongside the bad ones.
Its my perception and therefore my opinion that being a "foodie" means that a person has high expectations and tastes.
I am a former chef of a couple of well-known high end restaurants.  From my experience, alot of us (chefs) want simple comfort foods when we aren't working.  For example, in Vegas, many of my chef friends and I would go to Fat Burger after work for a greasy cheeseburger with fried egg.  Nothing extravagant by any means.  In fact, many "foodies" have negative things to say about many of the places we (chefs) eat. LOL
The reason I go into my narrative above is that this is a fan forum.  I appreciate all opinions, good or bad, but I personally make sure that when I type a comment, that people understand the perspective I come from.
My family is by no means wealthy, but we are well-off.  Still, we are budget conscious and try to live humbly below our means.
When I cruise, I am expecting an overall pleasurable experience.  I never go into a cruise ship dining venue expecting Michelin Star quality food.  If I wanted that, I would be dining Robuchon's at the MGM.
For others who are new to Royal or cruising in general, I would have to say don't "lower expectations" - just have different expectations.  Expect not to have to drive home after having several cocktails during dinner.  Expect plenty of options for dining, drinking, entertainment.  Expect to relax and let your guard down.
