  1. I'm just going to say I am the biggest fan of the MDR experience.  I love it soup to nuts!

I organized a group of 18 with mostly adults but a 4 or so under 16.  They put us all together at a very long table off to the side.  They even had the table marked with a big reserved sign on it with my name which was a nice touch.  However it wasn't as great as it could have been, but it was all our fault.  Sometimes we were not all there right on time, people would move around based on whatever conversation was going on - it was a tiny bit chaotic.  Taking the order of 18 people took quite a long time and inevitably someone would want to change their order by the end of the process.  Dinner was slow and clunky - again all our fault.

We did it again the following year and did multiple tables of either 6 or 8 and had a much better experience.  So my two cents is get a couple of tables instead of trying to act as one big party.

  2. Yeah, both in my party went GTY and got deck 3.  It's not a location I would have chosen but happy to be on a ship.  Either way, I am certain I can make it to Schooner in under 90 seconds so that's good enough for me.

I do have one question.  One in our party just got their room assignment last week.  Their luggage tags have not been updated yet - do you know how long that usually takes?

  3. I've done this one a few times - including the first one which was on Norwegian.  It's a TRULY UNIQUE experience from the perspective of a Loyal to Royal person.  The usual Royal Cruise Director staff are non-existent and replaced by ECP (Entertainment Cruise Production) staff.

Don't expect any of your Royal Perks - as they don't work.  No early boarding, no Diamond Lounge or Diamond Drinks etc.  However, on the last few cruises, they did open the buffet for a 4th meal at midnight which was really cool.

Hi, we have  purchased a deluxe drinks package awhile ago  we have received an email this week telling us special offer drinks package is now £55 a day /deluxe

can we purchase that one at the reduced price, and then get a refund on our original package that we purchased?

    thanks

I don't know if the other responses have considered the nuances of your request.  I believe you'll need to make a phone call to take advantage of any price drop, considering the unique situation you're in. I find myself in a similar situation, where my partner has the Refreshment package, and I have the Deluxe package.

If the price of your Deluxe package drops, you should be able to cancel it without any issues. However, when you try to re-add it, the system will likely block the transaction, and you'll need to call and request an exception again.

  5. I've been on 3 of the 6 StarTrek cruises offered by Entertainment Cruise Productions.  They (ECP) did an amazing job converting the ship into a StarTrek theme, rebranding venues, totally transforming the elevators etc.  The traditional royal entertainment staff is virtually nonexistent as well are the traditional Royal activities.  All are replaced by Trek events hosted by ECP.

The challenge is the price.  Trek cruises are 2X+ more than the same itineraries, but it's pretty clear why.  The Celebs come with a pricetag.

It's just as easy to (providing you have an internet package) stream any kind of Religious service on Facebook live, or YouTube whenever convenient.

I don't think that's going to cut it.  It appears the Catholics have a pretty firm stance that online service will not cut it.  Below is what I found supporting this.  The reason for all this - I'm hoping to bring my nephews on a cruise, but their mother is hardcore Catholic and does not bend.  Trying to figure out how I can position this to increase the possibility of being able to bring them.

The short answer is "no." The Church requires us to attend Mass, in person, on all Holy Days of Obligation and Sundays. Individually viewing the Mass will never substitute for this encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. Attendance at Mass is also commanded by the Third Commandment. This is commanded by Jesus in two distinct places.

  7. I have never complained to guest services before, but on a recent Voyager cruise, I complained over a dog.  A passenger let her dog roam on one of the lower decks and up and down the stairs.  The dog was leashed, yet loose.  It nearly tripped me on the stairs creating a dangerous situation.  I showed the pictures to Guest Services and they knew exactly who the passenger was and said they would have security talk to them "again".  Super frustrating that the passenger created such a frustrating and dangerous situation.
