    My invoice reads:
    Cruise Fare $776
    Taxes and fees $104.82
    Total cruise cost $880.82
I received a $290 FCC to use against another cruise.  My calculator makes that a 37% FCC, not the 50% FCC they put in the letter.
Apparently they are saying that on top of the $104.96 of published taxes and fees, there are $196 in hidden taxes and fees.  Therefore my actual cruise fare is $580 resulting in a 50% FCC of $290.  Who knew about secret taxes and fees?
I booked this as a B2B.  The 2/24 sailing followed by the 3/1 sailing.  I have no choice but to rebook my airfare and hotel to make the 3/1 cruise now on short notice.
Cost to change flight was $223.96 which they won't cover because it's Southwest because Southwest doesn't charge change fees.  They charge the difference in airfare but Royal won't cover that, it's not a "change fee".  However to sail on the 3/1 cruise I have no choice but to pay $223.96 to make that cruise now.   Cost to rebook my hotel room on short notice resulted in a $67 increase.
    Total out of pocket $290.96.
If I book another cruise I'll recover that using the 37% FCC and break even.
    If I don't book another cruise, I'm out $290.96.
I'm not really in the mood to promote Royal Caribbean at the moment so I won't be live blogging or scoping on the 3/1 cruise, assuming they don't cancel that one too, extending my losses even further.

After lunch we headed down to the Pub for some sports trivia.  Didn’t win, but learned the origin of the saying “a hop, skip and a jump”

After trivia I made the fateful decision that all must wrestle with on a sea day: to nap, or not to nap.  That, is the question.  Whether ‘‘tis nobler to remain awake or prepare for the evening.  Anyway, I opted for a nap.

Wait until Perfect Day isn't very perfect in May like they scheduled.  If weather impacted Navigator's dry dock it surely impacted Perfect Day construction 70 miles away.
In the case of Perfect Day people have been gobbling up excursions.  If Perfect Day slips all Royal has to do is refund them.
In the interim Royal has enjoyed interest free use of money, both for the 2/24 Navigator sailing and for Perfect Day excursions.  Worst case for Royal is a project actually completes on time.
For stock holders it's shrewd but profitable business tactics.

In September 2018 I sailed Enchantment in an aft JS.  My bathroom drain overflowed sewage into the cabin as I showered.
I had a very Disenchanting experience dealing with the deck supervisor and Concierge from the Concierge Lounge as a result.  So much so I cancelled 10 cruises.  I will admit that was a bit of an overreaction but she really pissed me off.
One solution they offered was to move me to a side facing JS that another guest was vacating once we reached Nassau.   It turns out that cabin had the same issue and that guest was so upset they disembarked in Nassau and flew home.  So basically they offered to move me from a cabin with a sewage issue to another cabin with a sewage issue.  Ummm, no thanks.
In the end I got an offer of 20% future cruise credit (FCC).  The kicker is the basis of the FCC is based on some mysterious number they determine the cruise to be worth.  The letter I got It suggested the FCC is based on pre-tax/fee cruise fare yet I didn't get 20% of my pre-tax cruise fare.  I've yet to figure out how they calculate the mythical value that they base the 20% from.
One lesson I learned - if you reach a resolution on the ship such as moving cabins or accepting an FCC on board, you are done.  The Miami office considers the case closed and that's it.
I've sailed other Vision class ships including Vision just 5 weeks ago.  That ship was in much better shape.  I believe they have really let Enchantment go.    Unfortunately I'm not surprised at all to hear you also had bathroom drain issues.  While we were in Nassau, Empress pulled up beside us.  You know it's bad when you the smallest ship in the fleet looks a whole lot better compared to the ship you are on.  Oh how I wished I was over on Empress.
Did you accept any resolution on the ship?  If so, from what I'm told, you will not likely get anywhere.  If not, engage your travel agent to fight this battle.  If you did not book through a travel agent, contact Royal directly.

twangster got a reaction from Rose City Cruiser in Navigator supported by the app!
The challenge with the chat features on the ships were it has been enabled in a BETA form (Allure and Harmony so far), is that it doesn't support notifications.  This means you have to have the app open and looking for a chat message to appear.  If you close the app or lock your phone you will have no idea someone tried to chat with you, until you open the app and go looking for the chat.
This is why they had to open up their firewall and allow push notifications for RoyalIQ (the old app for Harmony and Quantum class).  By doing so it allowed all iMessages to work, even from land based iPhones at home.   Basically iMessage worked for free.  RCI doesn't want to do that for the new app since it stops people from buying the Voom packages.
Personally I don't see Royal being successful trying to convince Apple to re-write iMessages to work differently, or to have Apple change the way push notification work.  Not any time soon.
Until then, if you want to know someone sent you a message you are best to purchase the basic Surf level of Voom in a multi-device plan.  Yes this costs money but as a parent who has cruised with teens it's worth every penny.
