Yes, there have been some grumblings that the outbreak is pretty bad but yesterday morning, the last time I was in the Windjammer, they were still allowing guests to serve themselves. Our brewery tour was missing almost 1/3 of the tour and there are lots of Facebook posts that are sick and angry (a very bad combo). They are scrubbing walls and our Northstar Time was delayed due to a clean out of the pod.

So far so good for us!

Thanks for the update, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your family!

  2. @PrincipalTinker, received word from someone on one of my cruising message boards, currently sailing on Anthem, that a case of norovirus is making its way around the ship :( She said that Royal is diligently cleaning surfaces, handrails and some people have been quarantined. The last update from someone on the next sailing was that Royal had informed customers by email and that an additional cleaning would follow prior to (delayed) boarding.

I hope you and your family are feeling OK!

  3. This is not really related to cruising per se, but the MLB regular season series vs the Twins and Indians went on as scheduled at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan on Tuesday and Wednesday. The mayor of San Juan tweeted that the ballpark ran on emergency power during last night's game which didn't end until past midnight here on the East Coast. (And, yes, being the baseball and cruise nerd that I am, I stayed up to watch it LOL.)

So, it's nice to know that life can go on, at least for one day! @Suzanne and @tiny260, I have a port visit scheduled in San Juan for my Adventure cruise in December :)

Aruba: Royal's Crazy Red Bus Beach excursion, not the real name, but it's what I can remember right now :8_laughing:.  I'm wondering if its the same excursion Matt & the group cruise took and seemed to really enjoy?

Here's  @Matt's live blog from their Navigator 17 GC, it does look like the same excursion :)

Have a great trip, I cannot wait to follow along! I am very interested to see how you and your family enjoy the MDR as I will be onboard Adventure toward the end of the year.

  5. Finally all caught up! I was sorry to hear that Anthem was unable to tender to CocoCay, but it sounds like you and your family had a great time onboard the ship that day. I am really excited about Royal Caribbean's revitalization plans for CocoCay, hopefully you'll be able to see it for yourself on an upcoming summer 2019 or beyond cruise!

How are you enjoying Anthem? I know we can't compare a Quantum-class ship to an Oasis-class ship (apples to oranges), but is this the right ship for your family? I'm very interested in hearing your thoughts on this. After reading @twangster's and now your live blog, Sabrina, I am more than convinced that I should book my 2020 cruise on Anthem (Bermuda, anyone?) :D

Enjoy your final days at sea, sea days are truly my favourite part of cruising :)

  6. Thanks for your post-cruise review, and, oh my goodness, your son is adorable :) I miss them so much when they are small, but do agree that cruising with children can be challenging. (Fond memories of my six month old niece screaming her head off for a half hour on the Disney Wonder nearly three years ago :4_joy:)

Sovereign of the Seas was my first cruise ever, so seeing her name in print brings out the warm fuzzies in me :)

Yeah, every time I try to go to Cruise Planner, it loops back to the previous screen that asks for your res #, sail date & ship

...which is what I tried explaining to them over Twitter just a few minutes ago.

Looks like it's a global issue as others have complained to them, hopefully they will fix ASAP!
