I feel your pain.... my wife and I have seven cruises lined up on the books.  I look at the calendar and its like watching paint dry as I'm waiting for the cruises to finally get here!!  

I'm fatigued just from booking these cruises....i just need them to start happening so i can relax

I'm going on my first Viking river cruise this summer (and first trip to Europe! ).  We are planning a Mediterranean cruise for summer 2019 and are going to go rc, in part for the 16 year old who would hate the river cruise I think.   She will be much happier on a bigger ship (even if it's the tiny vision) Jane

It's things like this, as someone who has been mobility limited for over a decade now, and gone through multiple painful surgeries to resolve as much of the problem as possible, that really piss me off. I don't need a scooter; thanks to the surgeries I don't even need a cane any longer (having had to use one for a good ten years). But all I can do is walk, and that for not more than a few miles total in a day, spread out over a bunch of smaller segments. My days of dancing, bike riding (one of my favorite activities back in the day), and wandering around places to explore for hours on end are long gone.
I'm not saying she wasn't disabled. I worked with someone who had MS, and learned that's a very "invisible" disease; she'd have good days where she'd be moving utterly normally for her young age one day, but could be half crippled the next. Maybe that's what was going on here with this woman, but even if it was, that's no reason for her to get all entitled and snooty with the crew. Not only is she being an assclown, she's giving a bad rep to everyone with a disability on that ship who just wants a bit of understanding and accommodation to make their trip enjoyable.

You most definitely should cruise and travel like crazy before the "kid thing". If you look at my cruise history notice the large gap between 2005-2009 and then again from 2009-2014? Yup. Kid jail. We waited 4.5 years after getting married before having kids and it was so that we could travel. We went everywhere, not just cruising. My only regret was not going to Hawaii pre-kids. We did one summer in Europe and loved it. The following summer we took a Mediterranean cruise followed by a trip to LA and San Francisco all in one month. That was probably the best summer I can remember! At the time we wrestled with the idea of whether it was wise to spend so much on travelling but in retrospect we do not regret it one bit. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids but travelling with them is whole different experience (see @JLMoran post above for a way more eloquent explanation lol).  Enjoy your couple time to the fullest now. You won't regret it.
 

I've been on Grandeur twice with a third one booked ..... same cabin for all three..... No, I'm not tired of it in the least ...... it's very comfortable being so familiar with where things are ...... When we board, we do a bee-line for the R-Bar for customary first drinks, then it's "Game-On" ----

I haven't read everyone else posts yet. Flame me if you want, but I am not specifically loyal. I am happy to try other lines, and experience other ports. For instance, we are planning a river cruise. We also have a cruise next year on a ship I won't name. Now, the majority of my cruises are on RC. And i will probably hit diamond with RC before I hit whatever the nameless ship line's equivalent gets hit. That will probably hold my attention. I mean, you can teach a man to fish and he'll never go hungry, gut give a man a free drink and he'll never get off your boat! 

We put deposits down on both group cruises.  I told my wife if she can't make it with vacation days, one of them will just have to become a solo for me!  My face still hurts, but that's still the plan.  :)

Next month will be my third cruise, all with Royal.  I have no desire to go on any other line.

Thank you! I've now convinced her  and we're now booked on a B2B leaving 19th of October 2019 for 14 days. I've a question I'm hoping someone could help me answer.
My plan is to fly in through EWR and then stay for one night at a hotel near the airport. What I can recall the cruise terminal is just like 20 minuts away. In my confirmation it says Cape Liberty, NJ (NY Metro). What does the "NY METRO" stands for? Is it just an explanation that the cruise terminal is in the New York Metropolitan area, or am I missing something?
