it was so funny, she was checking my Freedom cruise for May and we were chatting and she said yes, we cancelled till Nov 30th.  She said they announced it at 4PM.  Looks at clock, whoops it's only 3:45PM!?

Breaking news, on the phone with RC now, 4PM, they will announce Cruises Cancelled Nov 1-30,2020

I'm thinking of cancelling myself.

I just got an email from Bermuda Tourism yesterday, very few flights, JFK, ATL, MIA, that's about it, but they are open and want the business, lots of packages in their email.

On July 31st that was an accurate response.  It's now almost three weeks later.
Even if they had ongoing negotiations with a potential buyer on July 31st they wouldn't release that news publically, that's pretty standard in the corporate world.  What if the buyer and seller couldn't come to terms?  They would never state something that isn't a completed deal.  Until the ink has been signed to paper it isn't a completed sale and should the deal never materialize they wouldn't want to influence the industry or a competitor also negotiating a sale of one of their own ships.

Really? I had NO IDEA.  Thank you for this information.

Not all media sites are the same, and some have no issues reporting on rumors without any confirmation or research.
What I post on RoyalCaribbeanBlog reflects on me and my reputation, and I wont post rumors until there is strong evidence behind it. 
The rumors of Empress may end up being right at some point, but I need more to run on than "unnamed sources" by the same website that said Cunard and Seabourn were sold last month when they were not.

Clearly you are not familiar with @Matt Hochberg in the "cruise world". Perhaps you should get the facts straight before making assumptions.

We’re just staying put for now.  Truly, aside from missing cruising, I really don’t mind staying home.  My work life was such a whirlwind the past few years - so much travel.  I’m glad to be home for a change.  Dan is busy as a bee with yard work and I’m cooking waaay more than I ever have before. I’m content.
For now, I am happy just seeing all of this <cancelled> cruise money come pouring back in !  I will stay home, put my money in the bank and wait until it’s time to cruise again.

Same! I seriously feel you pain.  This summer is our first staycation in I don’t even remember how long. It feels weird.
Our solution? Desperate times and too long in dry dock make you do crazy things. With nowhere to go, we are building a pool, hot tub, and cabana right in our backyard! All inspired by Oasis Lagoon of course. Excavation just happened two days ago. You can take the cruise away from the girl, but you cannot take away the love. ?

Thank you!  I got official news I was cancer free two weeks before Christmas, it was the best Christmas gift ever. So far all my follow up tests are negative, and every time I celebrate with a glass of champagne ?

I get what you're saying.  I'm also usually a negative Nancy myself.  But this isn't a usual run-of-the-mill vacation for me, my original cruise was booked to celebrate me being cancer free.  I'm young, I could have easily been a statistic, and I know I'm being too positive and almost naive about The Bahamas reopening, but I have so much hope for 2021.  2019 was such a horrible year for me, 2020 took my celebration away, so now I'm keeping my fingers crossed 2021 will be absolutely epic for all of us ❤️

I sure wish they would move a Radiance class ship to Baltimore.  I have absolutely no interest in Enchantment.

Nah....I would be there if I could be...doesn't bother me at all.
 
Lockdown and loss of rights and liberty bothers me more.
