  1. Every ship that sails to the Caribbean from up here goes through it, as do many of the sailings out of Florida...Royal is missing out on a sales opportunity here. LOL
  2. Chris said in a previous video he was flying to the US. So if Harmony is headed to Europe, he's not going to fly here to get on her. He posts on these board every now and then...maybe he'll reply here. ? Paging @CHRIS WONG! ?
  3. @Aiden ParkerThis is a great idea. During my home time the past year, I found a photo album I had picked up on a cruise at some point that I forgot I had. Still new in wrapper! So I went back to my first cruise on 1992 and printed out pictures from every sailing. I printed out a picture of the ship to start each section, looked up sail dates and itineraries, and made a album full of memories that now span almost 30 years. Having notes from the past really helped me fill in some of those blanks. I had to do some digging through old scrapbooks & external hard drives for details; I wish I had started a log once we fell in love with cruising and knew we'd be life-long cruisers.
  4. Some do and some don't. MEI is one of those that take the initiative on their own when sales are announced and will check their client's bookings. Another agent I used to use would happily re-price, but only after I did the price check on my own every time there was a sale; "too busy with too many clients to check every one every time". I've had others in the past that wanted nothing to do with a re-price, as that meant extra work for them to receive a lower commission, or would charge a small fee for the bother. That is a valid question to ask any agent, so you know up front what their practice is.
  5. I've been doing some googling since I posted this and I found it for Android and Windows. I'm going to keep looking. If nothing else, I have the crappy versions that periscope gave me. LOL
  6. I can't find Downscope or Scopedown in my iphone app store. Is it only for android?
  7. That seems pretty late for test sailings. I can't imagine they are going to wait that long to restart.
  8. That's what it is about for me. The memories. I'm deleting a lot of them as I go through the downloads, as some are just silliness. But there are others where I talk about what we did that day, how we felt about the island/excursion, etc. Photographs don't always give the true story, and to be honest we didn't photograph everything. Sometimes it was a video or a periscope instead. I know some people think it's ridiculous that I want to save them. But one day, I will be happy I did. Even the ones that area bad quality.
  9. I just started going through the individual downloads this week, and honestly they are not great. They are in all sorts of random order, and none brought the titles with them. You can't see any of the comments on the videos, and only play in portrait - no matter which orientation you created them in. So everything landscape is sideways. ?
  10. So weird to see it different between cruises. I have a Mariner in Oct 2022 and it's the new version.
  11. @Mattdid a blog post about this yesterday https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/03/01/royal-caribbean-will-debut-new-odyssey-of-the-seas-cruise-ship-sailing-israel From Matt's post: "Guests currently confirmed on an impacted European cruise departing May 9 — October 28, 2021 will have the option to request a refund of the funds paid or leverage Lift & Shift to move to any 2022 sailing of their choice; otherwise, a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) will be automatically administered. A special $100 Onboard Credit per stateroom will be issued to those guests selecting a Future Cruise Credit or the Lift & Shift option." Did you book yourself or use a travel agent? This is one of those instances where using a good TA would've been in your favor. They would've notified you right away, and gave you all your options. Just a thought going forward.
  12. I used a passport for my May 3 Navigator sailing, and to be honest I don't remember it giving me any options as to documents. It may have and I just don't remember though. I know, not a helpful answer. I fully expect the sailing to be canceled though...
  13. We ended up with Concierge Class. It was cheaper than an infinite veranda.
  14. Find Wes Chatham (Amos) on YouTube. He'll keep you entertained while you wait.
  15. We've taken our boys (now 23 & 21) on a few cruises while one/both were of the 18-20 age and they had plenty of fun. They enjoyed the adult comedy in the evenings, hung out at the Schooner Bar with me, watched the movies on the top deck, and spent a lot of time hanging out at Sorrentos. Mine had each other so they didn't need to find friends, and when one was too old for teen club & the other wasn't, the older joined them in the "out of the club" activities like playing cards in the card room or listening to live music/karaoke.
  16. I didn't use Scopedown, I just requested the vids directly from Periscope. I use iPhone, but it should be the same for everyone. Click on "Learn More" from the Periscope is ending box when you open the app. This will bring you to FAQs. Scroll down to the question if you can download archive, and tap the blue word "here" (last word in the answer). The next screen will give you steps. Tap "Send data request" under number 1. #2 will highlight while it's preparing your data. Depending on how many scopes you have, it can take from a few hours to 24 hours to prepare. Check back the next day at some point, and #3 will be highlighted that your data is ready. There will be a data button, as well as individual links for each scope you did. There will be a time limit; by the time I realized my data was ready, I only had 6 days left to download before my links expired. Now from here it may vary for you being on a droid. I could not download my data to my iPhone. I had to go to my PC to do it. From my PC, I went to Periscope and dug around until I found the same data page that was on my phone app. From there, I found it easiest to just click on each link and download the zip files, than to open the JSON file and copy/paste each URL. To open the JSON data file, you can use Notepad. Don't download anything special. I downloaded each zip file into one folder, then as I have time, will open each up and re-name them (or delete ones I don't want anymore). If you have any questions, let me know!
  17. When my oldest turned 18 his status reverted back to his points level, this was 5 years ago. It didn't really matter as it was just the one sailing he was gold (while his 16 yr old brother was platinum) as they both earned enough points on their own to be Platinum once that cruise was added in. We were Emerald by the next time the boys sailed with us, and they were both over 18 at that time. Their cards said Platinum. I've heard of it going both ways - some kept the parent's status and others have not.
  18. My brain has been so bored lately that I have way too much time to think. I'm thinking about all sorts of things that are meaningless, sigh.
  19. Thinking about the logic of this... My son is Diamond when he turned 18. If he had a child (his best friend is about to!) that child would be born Diamond. My son (with kid) sails once before the child turns 18, so that child will get his father's Diamond status. That baby is now Diamond on his 18th birthday. But with probably only a handful of cruise points, and will not move up past Diamond until it earns 80 of his own. But yes, my grandchild should benefit from my cruise status.
  20. I've stayed near elevators on various cruises and never found it to be any noisier than other sailings. Most noise I can recall is from other passengers in the hallway/elevator area, not from the elevators themselves.
  21. I had no issues with our May check in, did it because, hey, why not? LOL Something to do...sigh, that's not the same old thing I've been doing stuck at home since last March. Sighhhhhhhh. At this point I think cruising will re-open before my office does.
  22. I have prescription goggles that are pretty old but they work well enough for snorkeling. I bring my own snorkel usually as it's already not connected to a mask and just use the flippers & vest from the excursion. I don't have a problem with the snorkel not being attached as it stays in my mouth fine underwater. Only difference is that it doesn't hang on the side when I come out, I have to hold it or put it down. I found the goggles well worth the investment as we cruise so much. Exact prescription doesn't matter underwater so they will always be fine.
  23. If the TA is quoting with Elevate or Indulge, that makes sense. If they are making a mistake because they are not reading the information correctly, well that is another story. LOL
  24. The best sci-fi usually is! We were late to the Expanse game and are now waiting very impatiently for more. To fill in the gaps, I am watching a lot of YouTube videos of aftershows with Wes Chatham - he does a good job hosting.
