What happens to ship shows after the performing crew’s contract expires

Recommended Posts

Recently the cast of the show’s Spectra’s Cabret on board Anthem Of The Seas contracts have expired and they are to be flown out back home after we dock in Bayonne tomorrow. I was wondering for the next sailings, what happens to the show’s availability? Will there be a new show in production possibly?

I would assume that just a new crew would come aboard.

That's correct.  A new cast replaces them.

In the months leading up to a contract ending, there's already a new cast training in Miami. Then in the last week or two the new cast joins the ship to observe, and then they hand it off.

In the Up Close and Personal event they give us as D+ and above, the performer captains give us the time lines and daily rehearsal routines on their contracts onboard the ships. It is interesting how for the stage shows they have to try out again for the same or different shows and also their training leading up to being onboard. It is the same for the ice shows and Aqua shows. They can try to return or they can try out for different ones. For the theater shows they have the rehearsal stages in Miami, for the ice and Aqua shows they are contracts with a third party and they may or may not do rehearsals prior to taking over on the ships. Fantastic athletes and and performers and they put in so much time and energy to their craft.

There are several RC entertainers that have YouTube channels and they provide a lot of behind the scenes information.  One particular is Jordan Bauth, an ice skater.  She provides a lot of details including the training process and daily routines while at sea.
