Dann
Just curious if anyone knows if it’s possible to use ANYTHING in the app when you’re getting off the ship and back on. Going on our, my family’s, first Royal cruise in June to Alaska. Ovation Of the Seas.
SpeedNoodles
I'm not clear on what you mean. Do you mean can you use the app when you're in port and away from the ship? Or?
smokeybandit
You can use the app anywhere you have an internet connection. Just some things are only available when on the ship wifi.
cruisellama
If I'm correctly remembering, your personal calendar events will remain intact when you're off board.
Dann
Danny Harr graciously answered the question. It didn’t have anything to do with planning anything. It’s as it says. Is the digital key just a cabin key, or is it also the SeaPass? But Danny answered it. Al Miller
Al Miller
Danny's last name is not Harr. It's Genung. His grandfather started the agency and his last name was Harr. But he gets that a lot . And also, just as an aside, you need your sea pass card to get off the ship and back on. They scan it both ways. That way they know when everyone is back. Even at Coco Cay. So don't forget to bring it to the gangway or you'll be heading back to your cabin to get it. Also, the digital key functionality is technically still in beta and it's a bit flakey with a lot of phones. I would not rely on it. Hope you have a great cruise! Linda R
Not sure of your question, but when getting on or off ship at ports you only need your SeaPass card.

True but we have been told that passports are good in certain ports so we carry a passport card jic.

I just carry picture ID, drivers license, and a copy of my passport. Not original passport

We leave the passport in the safe and carry that when traveling.

It's easier to use it for cruising while protecting my book safely tucked into my backpack. I only bring the book in case I need to fly home. I use the card for everything from check in, to the few cases where CBP hauls me into secondary. Only in Europe and Australia do I use the book for cruising. khynzelman

Secondary huh? I’ve never been there but it sounds like a small bottle of lube might be more helpful than a passport card. smokeybandit
I've just always thought of a passport card as a mere cheaper alternative to the book for those who just want to drive to Canada or Mexico.
